We stayed here for one week in May/June this year. It is an excellent hotel and is very clean. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them especially in the restaurants. The choice of food was really good, and there was something to suit everyone. The activities on offer on the beach and in the pools were not restricted to adults only which made a nice change from previous holidays to Greece where teenagers were not allowed to join in. The nightly entertainment shows in the evenings was good too, but some of them were better than others. We visited Lindos and Rhodes Town by bus, and we walked into Faliraki on the beach. We would certainly return to the Rhodas Royal, and would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms have a sea view, or a side sea view

We stayed here for our honeymoon. Have to say I can't fault the place. Champagne abd sandwiches waiting for us when we arrived at 12.40 a.m. staff are extremely friendly and the hotel is spotlessly clean nothing is too much trouble for them. Food was great abd plentiful. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone

This was a lovely hotel, the staff really went the extra mile to make you feel looked after. Food was great and entertainment was really good. It was nice to have the two waiter service restaurants, which made for a nice romantic meal.

Room Tip: The bungalows are really nice and comfy

We spent 10 days here in August 2014; 2 adults and 2 boys 9 and 11 and had a great family holiday. Most importantly the boys were happily occupied with the pools and beach and the first class animation team so mum and dad could get down to some serious lazing and drinking. The animation team were all cheerful and great fun, especially Balint, Bianca and Tomasc and we all had a great time playing games in the pool, especially water polo! All the staff are friendly and very helpful and the service is relaxed and cheerful. I am always impressed with the good humour and tolerance of the Greeks, especially when faced with the behaviour of some visitors. Talking of which some of the Russians here seemed to be competing to be the most obnoxious people in Europe, but it is easy to ignore and avoid them with plenty of space for everyone. The all inclusive food and drink was much better than we expected with unlimited amounts of whatever you want. Sat next to the beach with food and wine on tap at lunch time was heaven itself. We conciously wanted this type of holiday with the kids and it works very well for families with a lovely atmosphere and plenty to do if you like to join in. The staff are very well organised indeed and you can tell this place has a first class manager with high and consistent standards of service in every area. Would definately reccommend this place.

My sister, Mum and I stayed at the Rhodos Royal between the 2nd and 9th August 2014. The rooms are much more spacious than other resorts, and have homely touches - carpeted floors, varied lighting and wall art. However, there are only two plug sockets in the rooms, so I would recommend bringing an extension cord for further plugs.

The main restaurant is spacious and provides a good range of food, with themed nights (including Greek, Mediterranean and BBQ). The outdoor veranda is a must - you can wait up to five minutes for a seat in the evening which could be difficult for young children, but you are provided drinks whilst waiting. Unlike other all inclusive resorts I have visited, wine is served by your waiter in small bottles (rather than the usual, self-serve tap!) This is a nice feature, and you can select dry / medium-sweet etc, rather than just 'white' or 'red' as with usual resorts.

Entertainment is excellent and the team work exceptionally hard - Marcus and Tomas are stand-out members, and greatly improved our experience at the Rhodos Royal. Entertainment is outsourced for the evening, but was always excellent and varied - an Il Divo tribute act, a magician, African acrobats and a Beatles tribute.

The bar was usually good and stay open until 1.30am. At times, service was very slow but cocktails are freshly made, so it's not surprising. In addition, the pool bar lacked obvious drinks (no wine or diet coke) but provided all cocktails, spirits and beer.

The hotel has their own private strip of beach which is a nice touch - sun beds are available and it is no more than a 30 second walk from the centre of the hotel. Beaches on the east side of Rhodes can be quite rocky, so I would suggest taking flip flops or sandals that are easy to remove for the seaside! The pool is similarly nice, with 3 pools altogether and a slide for kids. There is a severe lack of sun beds however, with people reserving in the early morning.

Basic criticisms could be made - the shower is awkward to use, plates are chipped, waiters use a mix of red and white wine glasses on the same table - but these are very minor and would by no means ruin a 4* holiday. I must note that, despite what tripadvisor says, this hotel is NOT in Faliraki! It is a family, relaxed resort and nothing like the party atmosphere of Faliraki. However, it is a 5 minute taxi, or 30 minute walk if that is what you are looking for.

Overall the holiday was very enjoyable. Staff are exceptional and all communication and entertainment is in English, despite a majority of guests being from Russia, Germany or Belgium. The rooms are clean, tidy and welcoming. I would highly recommend this hotel for a summer holiday, especially for families!

If I could give this hotel more than ten out of ten I would. It was FANTASTIC! Myself and my two daughters have just returned home this morning. We stayed from 2nd August - 9th August 2014.

We arrived very late, at about 1.15 in the morning. The man on Reception was very friendly and helpful. He invited us to have a drink in the hotel bar before checking in (the bar closed at 1.30) but we declined as we were tired. A very helpful porter took us to our room with our bags. There was water in the fridge and sandwiches, the sandwiches were a nice touch as we had missed dinner.

The room is very clean and there is plenty of storage space. It is cleaned daily and sheets and towels are also changed daily, although you need to leave your towels in the bath if you want them changed. There is a small selection of complimentary toiletries but I would advise anyone to take their own. The only criticism about the room is that the shower is very badly designed, the shower head is plumbed onto the wrong wall, so any attempts to stand in the shower result in a very wet floor unless you are extremely careful with the shower curtain!!!! However, it has plenty of power and this is a really small thing which could be dealt with. The rooms are also carpeted which meant it felt a bit cleaner walking about barefoot. The air-conditioning is very efficient. There is a shortage of plug sockets, we had to unplug the TV to have phones charging and hairdryers on, but again, you manage and it isn't a huge issue.

The food selection was great, there was even plenty of vegetarian options for my daughter which we have never experienced in All Inclusive before. You might have to wait a short time to be seated for dinner, but we never waited more than five minutes and drinks were provided while you were in the queue. The lady at front of house, I don't know her name, did a really brilliant job of getting everyone seated quickly. She kept a smile on her face, despite the fact that for two nights running she had to deal with the same EXTREMELY rude man standing behind us who could not understand why he had to wait to be seated, when it was obvious we were all waiting as the restaurant was busy! Some guests unfortunately forgot their manners. The waiters got you seated quickly and you are always asked if you wanted wine with your meal. We especially liked Harris the waiter, who looked after us and was always singing. No complaints with the restaurant, staff and food at all.

There is a pool bar, beach bar, a bar in Reception and a self service place on the veranda where you can get coffee, tea, soft drinks and beer. You had to sometimes wait a long time in the Reception bar but this is due to the demand and shortage of staff there, it is no criticism of the staff themselves who are brilliant, work very hard and a good at recognising when people are pushing in and whose turn it is. There is a good selection of drinks. Wine tends to be kept for meals, we have usually had it on tap in All Inclusive but it just added to the sense of occasion of mealtimes really and wasn't a problem, there were plenty of other drinks to choose from.

The Animation team do a fantastic job, working long hours in intense heat and are always cheerful and friendly. Children seem to be well looked after and happy. There were some great shows such as a Beatles Tribute Act, some really good African Acrobats and a Magician who was actually so bad he was good! On the last night there was an Il Divo type tribute act, not really my cup of tea generally but they were really good and sang poolside with chairs and cushions laid out for guests. Marcus the Entertainment Manager was great, very funny and spoke many languages fluently so was able to converse with many of the guests and communicate to everyone during the shows.

The pool was very clean. The only criticism is that there is a woeful shortage of sunbeds. The beach is a short walk away where there are sunbeds as well, but people were reserving the sunbeds at around 7am which, whatever the rights or wrongs of this I would recommend. If you don't manage to get a sunbed there are a lot of grassy areas where you can take towels.

Rhodes Town is recommended, the bus is a bit of an adventure but you can get there for 15 euros in a taxi. There is a shopping centre very close to the hotel and I believe Faliraki is a two mile walk along the beach, although we did not go there. Rhodes Town is worth a visit.

I would definitely recommend that you book a late check out room when you book your holiday. We were not flying until 00.20 and we were able to stay in our room until 18.00 which was a huge bonus as it effectively meant we had an extra day to the holiday. While we were waiting for the coach to take us to the airport a porter came out and handed out bottles of water to us all, again a very nice touch which made the hotel what it was.

I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone considering it. The staff cannot do enough to help you, work so hard and deserve a lot of praise. I really did not want to come home today.

The only drawback is that the organisation in Rhodes airport is an absolute joke. However, you are not there long so don't let that put you off visiting what is a beautiful island and a wonderful hotel,

Room Tip: Unless you desperately want a sea view I would recommend spending your money on a late check out roo...

Stayed in Rhodas Royal in August 2014. The hotel was brilliant, food was lovely, drinks plentiful and very nice, we normally don't like the house wine, but this was also very good. There are 2 a la carte restaurants at the hotel, we tried both, the food was very good, but the service a bit slow. The rooms are very clean and maid service visits daily. We had a sea view in the main block which was well worth the extra money. There were very few English tourists at the hotel, so not good if you like to mingle (fortunately we don't). The pool was nice and although busy very peaceful and relaxing as was the beach, I think it may have had something to do with the lack of British kids dive bombing the pool very other minute!

We booked through Thomson as a package holiday - like last year we were disappointed of their service. When we got off the plane we were instructed to get on the coach, had a few words of welcome from the rep, (which is an improvement as last year they sent us to the wrong coach) and that was the last we saw of her, we were provided with a invitation to the welcome meeting but unfortunately this was the german one and we had no idea when the English one would be, when we finally found the book we realised we had missed it! Having said that we then found a leaflet on their excursions and saw how much of a rip off they are in comparison to the ones you can book from the local tour shops.

To some up we had a fantastic week at this hotel and would return.

Room Tip: Room in main block with sea view
