“4 Star Beachhotel, with a very friendly Service Staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 February 2013

Typical 4 Star Beachhotel, with a very friendly Service Staff there. As our Friends have been there already last Year, we followed their Advice and went also there. Friendly Check In and they also speak good english there.
The very good thing there was the Breakfast Choices and especially the good Coffee. Friendly Staff there too. Also we have to say, that there was a nice and friendly Atmosphere.

It was already our 6. Stay there - in Summer 2012 and wereally can recommend this Hotel to all, who dont need a 24 Hour Partyhotel. It was very calm and that was good for us. also the Hotelbuilding looks nothing special from outside, it has a nice and classic Interiourand a top friendly Servicestaff there. Food in Restaurant was always good and much Choices.

Usually travel agents rating of 4* disappoint me, but this was a pleasant surprise. Good breakfast plenty to choose from, clean and modern rooms and relaxing pool area and beach right in front with free sun beds. Good location. Only 2 km from Falikari center, so only 5 euros by taxi or 20 min to walk. Rhodes city was 18 euros by taxi.

Would go back and recommend, especially room with a sea view.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea views

Huge hotel block with almost 300 beds, but the rooms are surprisingly modern and comfortable inside. Esperos Palace and the neighboring hotels share two swimming pools and – an attraction for adults and children alike - a floating channel where you can relax on huge inflatable rings. Furthermore, you can relax on free hotel-owned sunbeds at the beach and in the shade of nice trees next to the pool.
The animation team – most of them from Italy in 10/2012 – was very nice. They learned their guests’ names quickly and encouraged everybody to participate in funny games, water gymnastics etc.
At first sight, there is a variety of food offered at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. You can pick one of four courses, which is served at your table, for dinner in addition to the buffet. The quality and presentation of this course is usually pretty good, but the other food, offered at the buffet, is average – in quality as well as in presentation.
A negative aspect is that most of the plates – and sometimes also the silverware on the table – you use for the buffet (salads, warm dishes, dessert) are dirty: They are usually greasy and there are remains of old food, sometimes they leave stains on the table cloth.
It´s not quiet at night until 1 a.m. due to the animation program and two open air bars. Moreover, service generally is not so good. Such as they turned of air condition in the rooms despite about 25 degree Celsius in the rooms at night. There is wireless internet for a very expensive fee.
In general, the hotel is average and a little bit too pricy for that what you get. We talked to guest who comes here every year and they told us that quality and service is getting worse year by year.

We had a very nice and relaxing holiday at Esperos Palace. The garden of the hotel is the big plus as it is very cleverly designed: with 2 amazing pools overlooking the beach + the oh-so-relaxing lazy river + the gym pool, it never feels cramped and there is plenty of space for everyone. The beach-towel service (every second day) is a very practical thing, as well as the very fast check-in and the possibility to swap dinner for lunch if you booked half-board. The second plus is the location: the bus ride to Rhodos city, which deserves plenty of time, is short and efficient, Faliraki is not exactly interesting but it is lively and it can be reached by walking on the beach, and you can rent a car from the reception to visit more distant places.

The third plus is the excellent restaurant which combines the advantages of a rich and tasty buffet with the good discoveries one can make by choosing among 4 main courses (this also avoids to a certain extent the inconvenient of seeing guests piling up masses of food onto their plates and finally eat a fraction of it). The morning buffet is very rich too, with fresh fruits, plenty of breads, meats, dairies. We met people that have spent more than 10 summer holidays at Esperos Palace.

We were also pleased that the problem with non-renovated rooms mentioned by some reviewers has been solved (the hotel has been recently split into 2 products: Palace (4*+) and Mare (4*), with separate restaurants but sharing most of the infrastructure) and so the rooms feel new, clean and comfortable. A room with sea view is to recommend for more quiet (anyway the limited animation programme finishes very early). Architecture and design is certainly not a strength (poorly chosen material that will not last, 2 slow guest lifts only) but the luxury and the quality of the service and infrastructure largely compensates it.

Service could be improved in some details, for example the restaurant policy which obliges people on the first day to choose a table and stick to it ("if you were outside yesterday you have to go outside, fullstop.") confuses everyone and is unnecessarily irritating. Finally, the hotel pays lip-service to the idea that guests choose the towels they want to be changed: everyone with a tiny bit of ecological education would understand that even the queen of England does not use 8 towels everyday (all the towels were replaced every day) and that plastic glasses are not recommended on a windy beach.

Room Tip: Rooms with even number over x70 are near to the service area and we could hear trucks unloading stuf...
