My congratulations to the Mitsis group and the great staff at the Faliraki Beach. My partner and I and our friends (another couple) stayed at the hotel for 10 nights in June.
The transfer from the airport took a little over 30 minutes by coach . We arrived at around 21.30hrs and hotel looked beautiful with its blue lighting. Checking-in took barely a couple of minutes and then we were on our way to room 54 and our friends 61, rooms on the lower level off of reception (up stairs). Unfortunately our room (54) overlooked the back of the restaurant and the barrel store. Typically, our friends room was out the back of the hotel with the swim up pool. Our room was a reasonable size with two single beds pushed together. The bathroom was up-to-date, clean and shiny. And in the bedroom one wall was completely mirrored. Overall the decor of the room was modern and of a high standard.
All the common spaces were very clean and immaculately presented. There is one main restaurant and it is busy at meal times. Although don't ask me about breakfast I never made it! At lunchtimes there can be long queues for the hot food but the salad bar and dessert counter were much less busy. The food was of a good standard especially the salad items and the hot food hot enough.
There are a further 5 al a carte restaurants, a Sushi open only at lunchtime, a Greek and Italian open both lunch and evening and an Asian and a Mexican. Book at reception as soon as you arrive for as many as you like, we booked all but two evenings and two lunches. The food is from a limited menu but is cooked fresh and is very tasty. Snacks are available from both the pool bars, one of which includes a creperie (yummy), ice creams and desserts.
There are three swimming pools, the main one can get quite busy but there are normally sunbeds on the grass. The beach is the other side of the wall but sunbeds on the beach cost extra. There is a hidden pool which is very quiet and most of the time only one or two families are using it. Go past reception (keeping it on the right), past the lifts on the right and shops on the left. Take the corridor up the stairs on the right to the very end. Turn to the right once out the door and go down the stairs and you have almost your own personal pool.
If you get a chance go to Rhodes old town. The bus stop is just outside the hotel and it costs €2.20 each way, although it gets really busy! But do yourself a favour and catch the water shuttle back for €6.00 which leaves from the harbour and returns you to the beach two hotels down.
All in all this hotel did not disappoint, the staff are exceptional and I would recommend this 4 star hotel. Thank you for a great holiday Mitsis group, I will be booking another one in the future no doubt.
