We have not long been back from sun palace hotel the rooms were standard but hay you only sleep in them ;-) the food was ok a bit repetive but it's a all inclusive standard in most all inclusive hotels !! But I will tell you what really made our holiday here were the animation team there the girls Jessie and Dorie were fantastic with my young three boys I can not rate them high enough and when you have happy kids you have happy parents !! And my two teenage boys never seen them as they were always with the one and only legend lamarr and igor . The Greek animation team made our holiday I can not rate them high enough !! I will be going back next year !!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sun Palace hotel after an apprehensive start. We weren't sure about the place when we arrived and having taken a walk to the beach through Faliraki we realised we really weren't in the nicest area of the island. That said, the beach was lovely; clean with plenty of space, and after our first day we really got to know the hotel and came to thoroughly enjoy out holiday.

The kids pools is safe and enjoyable for them, however we did find all the pools very cold which was off-putting for the kids at first. We all loved the Splash Park however, with lots to keep everyone entertained, a great snack bar, a good level of safety and kept very clean.

The cleaning standards at the hotel were very high, it was rare not to see someone mopping, sweeping or generally tidying up which was great. However do be aware of the wet floors - although signage is put out they can be extremely slippy.

The entertainment was reasonable and the kids really enjoyed the Mini Disco every evening. The bedrooms were basic but adequate and we generally enjoyed the meals and variety provided.

Every member of staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome - nothing is too much trouble. The hotel management have a real presence on-site and are very friendly.

Apart from the location we had a nice time here. We found it worthwhile to hire a car for a couple of days as well as a speed boat from the beach which gave us three brilliant days out seeing the sights and beautiful bays of Rhodes which are a shame to miss. In doing this we avoided the pricey excursions which weren't particularly suitable for the age of our children.

Overall a good experience and an enjoyable family holiday.

Room Tip: Friends of ours had difficulty sleeping due to a generator placed directly above their room, which was one of the rooms located within the hotel, overlooking the pool and entertainment area. Our rooms was nearer to the Splash Park which we found generally quiet and a nice location.

Travelled to the Sun Palace for a week in mid May before the season had really started. Disappointed at first as the first rooms we were allocated were quite possibly the worst the hotel had, we had an infestation of ants in the bathroom and the room was very cold as it didn't seem to get any sunlight. We were moved the next day to a family room on a higher floor and although the rooms are basic, they were cleaned daily and satisfactory. I wouldn't travel back to this hotel however it was exactly what we paid for being 3* plus. The positives of the hotel are that the food was very good with a decent selection and the hotel was very clean. Faliraki doesn't have much to offer but the beach is well worth a walk. The waterpark is good and the entertainment team make the effort with the children. The evening entertainment was very disappointing and led to us going out most evenings to pass time which added to the cost of the holiday but overall we had a good holiday.

Perfect Family place cant wait to go again defo recommend to anyone , Have fun :)

Room Tip: we stayed near the snack bar where the entertainment was so quite noisy if you fancy a early night you may find it a bit too loud.. but it was fine with door shut, has air con which worked fine

We have just got back from a two week stay at the sun palace and are truly disappointed. This was our 8th visit to the hotel and have been holidaying there since 2003; this was our first visit to the hotel since it had expanded and had the water park added.
The new water park is great, it is very safe for children as it is enclosed with only one exit and there are lifeguards on each of the slides. The snack bar in the water park is also far better than the main pool area, the choice is still limited and repetitive but is prepared to a higher standard. My children could not go on two of the slides in the children's play set as they were accessed by netting and they found that it was too difficult/painful to cross, inappropriate in my opinion for the age range the playset is designed for. It is also worth bearing in mind that the waterpark is only for first choice customers.
We stayed in one of the newer family rooms, it was basic and could have done with a lick of paint as there was a rust patch on the wall and plenty of squashed Mosquitos (we arrived two weeks in to the season would have thought it would have been done during the winter). The rooms were cleaned each day and fresh towels left.
The main pool area is looking tatty, many of the sun beds are needing replacing, areas where health and safety is inadequate such as railings round the pool additional railings, string and tape have been used giving a cheap and tatty look. By the second week the children's pool was really dirty, sand at the bottom and stuff floating; this continued so obviously was not cleaned each evening. The pool toilets were also poor, constantly swimming in water and very slippery and the wooden doors had expanded and would not shut to.
With the exception of lemar who worked really hard and brought an atmosphere to the hotel the animation team showed very little interest in the guests and their job, even getting a simple hello was difficult. The evening entertainment program saw about 4 acts a week brought in, these were poor and quite frankly boring; the last time we stayed at the hotel the animation did the full evenings entertainment program, this was competitions, dancing and sketches, these were fun and united guests and the animators.
The mini club was really disappointing, I wouldn't leave my children with the girls running it, they showed little interest in the kids and often looked rough and hungover. The club house itself was dirty with drinks spilt up the wall and writing all over it, the room was a mess with few toys and activities for children, like I've said this is two weeks in to the season.... Surely it should have been cleaned, equipped during winter?
The worst part of the stay was the food. First of all the hotel advertises lunch; this however is the addition of soup and dessert to the main pool snack bar, the food here is exactly the same each day with maybe one varying dish, it is of poor quality but the bonus is that because it's cooked in smaller portions you can occasionally get a hot meal. The standards of the main buffet restaurant are terrible, quite often I'd pick 6 plates up before I'd find a clean one, food was repetitive, poor quality, undercooked, cold. Although there was variety in the dishes putting a meal together was often difficult, I must add it's the only time I've been served chips for breakfast!! The soft drinks tasted like smart price, yuk!! For an all inclusive holiday we spent a lot on food and drink because it was discussing, shouldn't have to do this :-(
Sorry sun palace we have visited a number of times and loved it this time I feel that you have expanded the hotel, tried to cut costs and lost sight of what is important and let your standards drop..... Truely disappointed, we won't be coming back.
