“Great location, great hosts!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2013

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed into the Hotel Attiki family. Mara was waiting to greet us on our late arrival and the great service continued throughout the two week stay with great restaurant recommendations and organising a reasonably priced rental car for a few days. Her lively, bubbly personality added to our great holiday experience! Francesco was a quieter presence serving breakfast with a smile along with Gabriel, am not a morning person so this suited me wonderfully! Even Chichillia who cleans the rooms was always ready with a friendly smile and noticed and reacted to clues during our stay, eg, my mother placed a blanket under her pillow as she wanted it higher, after the next cleaning we both had an extra pillow on the bed, very thoughtful. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the middle of the historic old town but far enough away from the main streets to be quiet. This is a quirky, friendly, eco-friendly place to stay where nothing is too much bother for Mara or Francesco. As with most Greek islands there are plenty of cats but those at Hotel Attiki are well fed and cared for so they generally just lay around sleeping all day and night! I travel a lot but this is the first hotel that has prompted me to create a TripAdvisor account and write a review, hope to see Mara and Francesco again next year.

We really don't want to review Hotel Attiki! We want it to be the "best kept secret" in Rhodes Old Town and have it all to ourselves! However, you really need to know how amazing this place is...

From the moment you walk through the gates in the hotel walls, you'll realise you've found a very special place.

We're starting to lose count of how many times we've been to Attiki! Each visit we can't wait to get there and, on departure, we can't wait to get back. An amazing atmosphere and customer service that is second to none.

If you want to be treated like a robot on your holiday - choose a resort and go all inclusive.

If you want a place and people that meet you every need - choose Hotel Attiki every time!

J&A

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful. We choose a room with a balcony.

We found the Attiki by chance on Trip Advisor and we were so glad we did. Mara and Francesco were superb hosts and could not do enough to help make our stay more pleasurable. The hotel is right in the heart of the old town and there are some great restaurants close by that are well worth a visit. The garden is well maintained and a great place for pre-dinner drinks and breakfast was lovely.
The Attiki is a must and definitely worth a visit.

We just spent 6 days at Attiki and it was wonderful ! If you visit Rhodes you must stay in the Old Town, as to be frank there is little to do or see in the rest of the town. The rooms are smallish as the place was built 500 years ago but the location is great. Francesco and Mara make the experience marvellous. Good breakfasts too!

We only stayed here for one night before heading off to Symi but I wish we could have stayed longer!
The location of the hotel is very central - just off the main shopping street - however, it's very quiet when you're there.
We had a lovely room - two single beds pushed together, a big bathroom with all the brickwork exposed in an arch. The decoration was lovely too - some nice touches added.
There is a lovely garden area where they serve breakfast every morning and drinks every evening. We didn't get a chance to stay for breakfast but we stopped by for a drink before heading our for dinner - Mara's Spritzer is lovely! Definitely recommended!
As other reviewer's have stated - Mara is fantastic at guiding you on the area and her restaurant recommendations were spot on! We ate so well in Rhodes Town!
We are already planning to go back to Hotel Attiki for 2/3 nights next year!

Thank you Mara and Francesco for making our visit so great. Mara even came out to find us in one of the squares when we were having trouble finding the place. The hotel is snuggled next to ruins and modern markets. Each room is dedicated to a writer which is an excellent concept. They have bicycles for guests to use and it is a great way to see the ruins or spin around the moat! Mara will help you with all things including which pharmacy to use, which restaurants will cater to your tastes and she will even outline a map for day's outing! I can't say enough regarding the helpfulness of the staff and beauty of the place. The cats roaming the grounds are friendly and add to the character.

Room Tip: Use the bicycles for the best way to get around the old city. They are free!
