“good family run hotel”
Reviewed 25 April 2012

Large apartment two balconies overlooking sheep and goats in a field at the back of the hotel, also a view of the harbour and Old Town and Temple of Apollo. Basic kitchen but we ate out during the day and had our evening meal in the hotel restaurant every night. The prices were very reasonable and the food big portions and delicious. One euro on the bus to Rhodes Town or five euro in a taxi, which may be shared by other users flagging it down and it will still cost you the same price.
George the host in the hotel bar very friendly and chatty also his daughter Constandina (dina), you can chat to the other guests in the bar of an evening. On the first floor is a TV room non smoking and also more internet facilities and book library that other guests have left.
Quickest way to walk into Rhodes Town turn left outside front of hotel to road at the bottom by taxi rank, turn left walk upto the swedish cafe (lovely cakes) turn right turn second left towards aquarium turn right about 200 yards and keep walking turn left at end of road and walk into new town keep bearing right and you come to the bus station and the old town its about a twenty minute walk.
Dont have a large beer at the restaurant with the parrots outside it costs you 23 euro the beer is served in a large 4pint glass boot.
All the staff are very friendly its much better than a large hotel for friendliness. If you walk to the Temple of Apollo walk to the swedish cafe and turn left keep walking and beware of snakes.
Would definately return to Panorama with Georges 1 million euro. Dont bother with hiring a tv remote no english channels and you can always use the buttons on the front of the tv to watch it. You can also order your duty free cigarettes at reception.

Room Tip: we had room 501 a one bedroom apartment and two sofa beds in living room we were the top floor overl...

I stayed here with my grandson last June and had a lovely week, the staff are friendly and caring and the restaurant is clean and serves tasty and good value food all day. Rooms are a little basic yes but excellent value for money and very clean. I have no complaints at all and am returning for a second holiday, this time on my own, I can't wait.

This hotel is within 15/20 mins walking distance from the town or you can get a bus for a small cost so the location is good for those wanting to be near Rhodes town and old town but dont mind a short travel distance.

The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful but the room we stayed in was the worst ive ever been in. It was dark dingy, dirty and depressing The whole hotel needs modernisation. There was mildew and dust everywhere and i really didnt enjoy coming back to the room at the end of the day, hence why we were up and out asap.

The self catering facilities were less than adequate. Barely any utensils, crockery etc had to ask the owner for them. Everything stuck to the frying pan and the fridege wasnt clean! I would definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone unless they really couldnt afford to stay somewhere better.

On the flip side this was the best holiday ive ever had, people were friendly, so many things to see and do and reasonably priced, would definitely visit Rhodes again but just wont stay at panorama!

Room Tip: Id be surprised if there are any good rooms!

I had read the reviews before going on holiday, but adopted the opinion everybody had different tastes, so went with an open mind. Have to say, the end of the week there could'nt come quick enough!! The hotel is way out & a job to find. Its quite dark & dingy. There was a mess up on our room's to start with, but that was sorted out. Our room was'nt too bad, tho the view left a lot to be desired (if you call looking out on house's & derelict buildings a view!) There was loads of ants running around. We reported this to reception & sure enough, they went & sprayed them with ant killer. The remain's of the ants tho, were left on the floor of our room all week!!!!! So much for the cleaners! There were cockroaches in the bathroom as well!
The food in the restaurant was lovely & very reasonably priced. We ate out most of the time as we wanted to try different restaurants. There was no entertainment in the hotel, only one night, & that was a keyboard player & singer. Not exactly stimulating!!!!
The kitchenette was equiped with less than enough knives, forks, spoons etc. Two mugs. Can't see how you could cook anything either as not enough pans!
We will never go back to this hotel again. Even if it was offered to us for free! Be warned!!!

Booked these apartments as a cheap couple of weeks away, on arrival we were shown to our room, i say shown, they pointed at it, not very difficult for the surly staff as it was only 8 yards from the reception desk. The door was blocked by the suitcases of the lucky souls that were waiting to leave, once into the room it only got worse, dark, dismal and dirty, although we did have a nice view of the derelict building over the road from the balcony. I went back to reception and asked to change rooms, and we were moved to the annexe the following day which was slightly less gloomy, but still filthy. Lightshades were broken, wires hinging out of walls and the kitchen utensils were made up of a spatula, 1 bread knife and 2 forks 'the essentials'! We endured a couple of days before the overwhelming aroma of dog excrement from the locals garden below was the final straw for us, so we moved to a different apartment near the beach in another resort - best decision we have ever made.

i went to this hotel with my sister - read karenwwjd review - after a shaky start we were treated really well. Our room was upgraded and it was lovely we had a large suite for the two of us. The staff were lovely and could not do enough for you, julia the morning receptionist was a font of all knowledge and had plenty of ideas for places to visit. Whilst the hotel was 30 minutes at a leisurely pace from either the new or old town it is not a difficult walk or quite a cheap taxi ride.
I read the reviews before i went and was a bit apprehensive but i did take with me a wooden spoon and knife so was prepared. We managed to sort out meals in the room, the shop was a 5 minute walk, and the cooking facilities basic, 2 rings, frying pan, large pan, kettle and fridge but thats a greek thing (spent a night in Lindos and facilities were the same) however we did mange to cook breakfasts and pasta dishes all in a frying pan (we are going to write a book on 101 recipes cooked in a frying pan lol) We also bought aluminium foil containers bought at supermarket to use to cook in.
However the food at the hotel was cheap and delicious, the waiter and cook were accommodating with trying things or explaining things. This fish special night was worth the money.
The pool area was clean but my only criticism was the depth of the pool, it was over 8 foot at the deep end.
I really enjoyed the holiday and it was much better than the reviews had given it credit for, however we did have a wonderful room with amazing views. We were lucky but no one whilst we were there moaned about there accommodation so if you are open minded and want value for money this is definitely worth consideration.

Room Tip: top floor suites have the best views and space - we were in room 505 and loved it , large and good v...

I read the reviews on here before I went and will admit I was worried, I got to the hotel to be told our room wasnt ready because of a problem in the room. due to the previous holiday makers blocking the loo ! We were then taken to another hotel overnight and collected again the next day, We were then given a room which was a suite , so we had been upgraded. From then on the hotel was lovely, the pool was clean and not too busy, the room was clean and had a huge double bed, nice views from the balcony, The cleaning lady was lovely and freindly. The staff around the hotel were all lovely, freindly and helpful. The food in the resturant was cheap and yummy. We managed to find our way into rhodes town by walking and then it was only about a 20 minute walk, There is a huge supermarket close by, easy parking for the hotel. I would definately go again, There was a air strike whilst we were there so I panicked a little but Julia at the reception desk was very helpful and found out information for us, Great hotel !!! dont believe all the bad things you read about it.
