“Very disappointing”
Review of Rodini Park

Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We had read mixed reviews about Rodini park but decided to give it a go. It is really run down and in some places quite dangerous with hand rails falling away and bridges which are derelict and nothing to stop children trying to get to them. There was virtually no one there, the café at the bottom was shut. It could be made really nice but nothing to recommend it currently.

We walked an hour to see this place as it was highlighted in our tourist map as a hidden gem. That wasn't the truth unfortunately as it turned out immediately after our arrival. This park COULD be a very relaxing and beautiful place but it is very neglected and dirty instead. There were garbage everywhere, lots of stray cats, wild ducks and - which is the worst - needles from drug users. It was very-very upsetting and not a relaxing nor a comfy experience at all. I don't recommend to visit, it purely doesn't worth the effort. Very sad.

I had read about this park and set off on bicycle from windy side of Rhodes town. The best route is to go through town ( after rounding the headland ). It’s well worth getting there if you like something different and a nice stroll. It is actually a bit neglected, which is a shame because it’s a lovely park. Wild and overgrown, beautifully laid out. I can imagine that it’s very nice off season, autumn clad f ex.

If you are expecting a neatly kept park with cut lawns and planted flowers, Rodini Park is not for you. If you want to enjoy a peaceful walk through a little wooded valley with interesting features, then it's lovely. Yes some of the little bridges are rotten and can't be used and there are also some fallen trees, but for me it all added to the character. Persevere and walk through the whole park, there is a lot more to it than just the area around the entrance. I loved it. I would say that some areas are not suitable for very young children. Some of the steps have no handrails and there are no fences by the water. Do take refreshments with you, there is a restaurant at the entrance but it was closed when I visited.

It is the best park i have been to, but it is very sad to see how it's abandoned and how no one is taking care of it.
Hope someone is going to take action on rodini patk as soon as posible.
