- A few staffmembers weren't friendly
- Dirty windows and hair in the bath/on the floor
- A bad bed: short, noisy and old mattress
- Impossible to (fully) lock the door
- No wifi on the room. And often connecting problems in the lobby.
- Basic breakfast with poor food quality
- A small 10m pool. Impossible to swim in
- A marvelleous sea view from the higher floors

Good place to stay with friends or solo, because of that I don't recommend it for families. As usual in Greece, staff is nice and friendly. Near to beach (over the road), but is on the Windy-beach side. Close to downtown and "bar street". Snack bar in the hotel, (ENG, FIN). Excursion buses stops nearby. Short walk to old town and port. So if you are looking for glamor go somewhere else, if you need just a place to stay this is a full 100 point hotel.

Room tip: Situated near highway ( a little noisy) , but it don 't disturbs. Rooms with view to the sea are sunny, others are just rooms. Breakfast is a 3, in a 1 to 5 scale and every day the same.

The pool area is really small, and 10 meters long swimming pool at one end so low that you can not swim. Sure there is sea nearby
The hotel provides the pictures show that it is in solitude but in reality the other side, very close to is just as high hotel and the you outlook is then part of the opposite wall / room.
Rooms are very small and the shower is running the whole toilet floor wet. Cleaned up fairly well on a daily basis.
Downstairs is the bar that night rest seriously interferes with at least 2nd floor rooms. Perhaps calm above.
Breakfast was not much for anything, every morning, 95% the same. Range of non-existent.
Cactus hotel looked really nice in the vicinity of your hotel, in fact, the same price Esperiakin was outside a lot finer.

We were glad to see that Hotel Riviera exceeded the expectations we had from reading other reviews of the hotel prior to our visit.

The hotel seems newly renovated within the latest years. The lobby is bright and airy and nicely decorated with several groups of sofas for relaxing, tv, and wifi connection for your own laptop, though we didn't take advantage of this offering. There is also a bar connected to the lobby which can be a little noisy in the evening but not so much that it is disturbing in the rooms (noise couldn't be heard from the room - 2nd floor).

The room has a reasonable size, in no way posh and large but neither small and cramped in any way. Decent sized bathroom with tub and hairdryer. Beds are 2 singles pushed together, rather pointy springs. Room is equipped with 2 chairs, a sofatable, mirror with makeupdesk, lowboard to place suitcase on, 2 bed side tables and a closet with hangers. Lighting in the room was rather unflattering, but that is what to expect i a contry where a fondness of fluorescent lightning is predominant.

Nice balcony with 2 plastic chairs and a plastic table. Some balconys face the see/beach. Ours had partly seaview as it was located on one of the hotels sides which actually was nice because the balcony was a bit shielded from the winds from the sea. All rooms seem to have sea view (direct or partially) so dont worry to get a room on the backside of the hotel as there isn't any there).

There is a small pool at the hotel with a few sunchairs. We didn't use it as we prefer the beach. Windy Beach is across the street from the hotel but the much better Elli Beach is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
The nearest restaurants are within 2-5 minutes walk and the bar street is 5-10 minutes walk away.

Overall Hotel Riviera is preety much what to expect from a midrange hotel in Greece.
