I echo the sentiments of the majority of comments. Great location. High attention to detail. Amazing courtyard. John the owner/host provides great service. Comfiest bed we slept in during our 3 weeks in Greece. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Our stay at the Zacosta Villa Hotel was one of sheer bliss. As many other reviewers have said, John is a wonderful host - constantly attentive and willing to answer any queries levied at him, though not pushy at all. My partner and I were relatively quiet and kept to ourselves for the majority of our stay, and he was fine with that - he didn't press us into making conversation, but was more than willing to talk if approached. It made for a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

The room that we had initially asked for was the Giardino, but assumedly due to other people booking the same room and the fact that we'd asked to stay for a week, we were given a free upgrade to the Raimondo room. When adding in the discount that we were offered by John upon booking the room, we ended up with a really good deal for our money.

The Raimondo was spacious, with all the amenities you would expect - bed-side lights, a dresser, a wardrobe, a mini fridge, an air conditioning unit, etc. In addition to this, we had free bottles of mineral water that were restocked every day in the mini fridge, as well as a complimentary bottle of wine (that we never actually tried in the end!) The bathroom was decent, featured a bath + shower attachment, free shampoo and shower gel.

On an extremely minor note, the walls in the Raimondo did seem quite thin. If other guests staying at the hotel are speaking loudly in the courtyard, you'll be able to hear them as clear as day. John isn't at the hotel all the time, only showing up at certain hours outside of the morning, so he isn't available to keep a tabs on things if one of the guests is causing a ruckus (which is unlikely to happen, since there are only three rooms in the hotel as it is).

John asked us when we wanted to have breakfast every morning, though we didn't alternate too wildly from around 8am during our stay. The breakfast was delicious - the highlight being the three different kinds of local savoury pastries. The dessert pastries were also very nice. As well as these, there were a selection of fruits, different breads, croissants, muffins, jams, butter, honey, Greek yoghurt - we were truly spoilt for choice. Usually we felt so full from having breakfast that we ended up skipping lunch!

The location of the Zacosta was fantastic, nestled neatly into a side street at the pinnacle of Rhodes Old Town. The sights immediately around the hotel were very impressive, with beautiful winding streets and architecture. As well as being within a short walking distance from all the major sights of the Old Town, the bus stop of Rhodes town allowed for travel practically anywhere else throughout the island - and the harbour was full of ferries offering trips to other islands, or other parts of Rhodes.

All in all, we were incredibly satisfied with our stay at the Zacosta and cannot recommend it enough. We really didn't want to leave!

stayed at the zacosta villa hotel for one night in July. wish it had been more. feels like a gorgeous little home. three rooms is all; maybe some day we will get some friends together and rent out the whole thing.
ceilings and floor are of wood and it smells like it. in a really good way. nice little touches, lots of attention paid to detail from the soaps to the candles to the breakfast in the courtyard. it's about thirty seconds down a small alley in the old city of rhodes, three minutes from great restaurants and bars, and yet it's silent. we found the owner so nice we insisted he join us for a glass of wine before we left.
you should go here. can't find enough good things to say about the hotel.

my wife poinst out that the entrance from the little alley through a small, modest wooden door with a bronze plaque next to it is tasteful and cool. she is right, you know.

Before heading to Gennadi, we decided to stay one night in Rhodes Town. I now realize that we should have stayed a couple of days because Zacosta hotel is such a nice place. John was waiting for us at the entrance of the Old Town, showed us where to park our car and carried our luggage all the way to the hotel. The hotel has only three rooms and is perfectly located. Breakfast is just amazing. Small details (toiletries, biscuits, etc.) make this a great place to stay!

We had a fantastic stay at Zacosta Villa, extremely comfy and roomy (upstairs room) with nice bathroom, well appointed with special toiletries. It was lovely to stay here in a small hotel, only three rooms, so much nicer than an impersonal large hotel. John, the owner, was so helpful and accommodating and went out of his way to inform us of the best restaurants and sites in the Old Town. He provided a very nice breakfast each morning in the courtyard, very private and cosy and each night offered us a drink and shared some stories with us before we headed out to dinner. We were concerned as to how we would find this Hotel being in the walled Old Town, but we rang John from the port and he came and got us and helped us with our luggage. I would highly recommend staying at Zacosta Villa, great value, very clean and close to seeing the sites etc. Look forward to returning one day. Thanks John. Best wishes Margie and Graham

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms upstairs. Much bigger. The ground floor room opens out to courtyard but you can...

Amazing service and an extremely memorable stay. The owner, John, gets the little things right and certainly makes you feel at home. The location is also perfect for exploring the old town, while there are also a number of sensational restaurants in close proximity that offer up tradition Greek cuisine. John is more than happy to highlight restaurants where "the locals eat", so you know that you are not being ripped off by the restaurants that are only in operation during the tourist season. Zacosta Villa is a must for those looking to break away from the boring chain hotels, offering a great value stay.

Zacosta Villa Hotel is amazing. I cannot rave about it enough. It exceeded all of our expectations and made our stay in Rhodes that much sweeter. My boyfriend and I found Zacosta on Trip Advisor and were immediately impressed with all the positive reviews and guest photos - and we were most certainly not disappointed.

The Villa is tucked away in the Old Town, near the Old Town square, restaurants and bars. John - the owner - was so attentive and hospitable that it immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable.

Every morning we were served a gorgeous breakfast of fresh fruits, local breads and pastries, greek yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee. John would help us with any queries, recommend places to visit etc.

John talked us through the history of Zacosta Villa and showed us the photo album of how he transformed an empty, dilapidated block into a gorgeous B&B. Undoubtedly, the stay at Zacosta - and John's hospitality - made our stay at Rhodes unforgettable. We honestly could not fault it. As young travellers - aged 26 & 28 - we absolutely loved it. It would also be the perfect place for a family to rent out all three rooms to themselves for a family-holiday!

It is an exceptional hotel - and John is amazing. Thank YOU, John!!! We hope to be back soon.
