We stumbled across this charming restaurant which was very close to our hotel. Family run, it's charm derives not just from the vine draped canopy above the tables but also the friendly and accommodating service. Having marvelled at the delicious sun dried grilled octopus on our first visit we went back a second time and were equally impressed. Having now travelled more extensively in the Dodecanese to Tilos, Nisyros, and also eaten in several other cafes in Rhodes it is clear that Paizanias really is a gem. We will be returning there on our final leg through Rhodes on our way home. I plan to eat there as many times as we can! In addition to the excellent octopus which I gather is dried on their own roof and then cooked in the outdoor charcoal grill in the courtyard, the grilled haloumi is also delicious and the Greek Salad is simply the best we have had. Another delightful surprise was the home made yoghurt and sultanas. Truly a wonderful combination! All excellent value and entirely authentic.
