We stayed last week and it was a fantastic week! Sofia is just lovely and cant do enough for you. Her garden is beautiful - a real oasis, we were only sorry that the grapes werent ripe yet, otherwise we would have had them with breakfast. Breakfast is perfect - we had all sorts, including omelettes, rice pudding, home made cakes, fresh bread, yogurt and honey, meats, cheese, boiled eggs, peaches - the list goes on. The room we had was large and had its own table outside the room. We cant recommend this place highly enough if you want to be based in the old town and personally we wouldnt have wanted to be based anywhere else.

Room Tip: Room 8 has its own table and chairs outside

Sofia Pension is a find in Old Town Rhodes. Amazingly clean and beautifully decorated rooms with modern bathrooms and air conditioning. Sofia serves a very nice breakfast on the outdoor patio/porch under a shady grape arbor. And the rooms are very reasonably priced!

A few minutes walk from the Marine Gate entrance, and from Socratous Street, the main shopping street, but it is hard to find on the back windy alley-roads of old town. Booking.com has it placed wrong on their map as well, adding to the confusion. Once found, it is easy to get around! HIghly recommend Sofia and her Pension!

Room Tip: All rooms are very nice. We stayed on the patio level which was convenient for using the outdoor sp...

We spent two nights here in May 2013 and found the location terrific in the Old Town and the room comfortable and well appointed. The continental style breakfast served on the upper terrace was a nice way to start the day. The failure of the air conditioning did detract from the experience, because it meant we had to open the window to get air, which exposed us to the barking of the local dogs and the revving of motorbikes by the inconsiderate locals ( doing this at 4 am hardly complies with any understandiing of acceptable social behaviour). We left early to catch the ferry to Marmaris so had no chance to discuss the situation with Sofia, who was a charming and efficient host, along with her husband. However we hope she gets the A/C fixed for future guests in our room. The TV, with reception limited to about three channels, was also a disappointment.

Room Tip: Check on the A/C

My son and I spent 3 nights at the Sofia Pension and found it delightful. The room and bathroom were large and very clean, the pension has a roof top and terrace area that invite sitting among lovely plants. The price was excellent, as was the location. We arrived around 9 pm and had a difficult time finding it, but it was actually easy in the daylight once we found our landmarks. The location is excellent - close to the castle, shops and many, many wonderful restaurants, an easy 15 min walk to the ferry, and we caught a bus with no problem for a day trip to Lindos (which we highly recommend). The beaches were a bit of a walk, but we enjoyed seeing other areas of the city as we walked. We have regretted that we did not try Sofia's breakfast - I'm sure it was wonderful and well worth the extra charge. Rhodes old town is so atmospheric - we loved our visit, and particularly our stay at the Sofia Pensione.

I cannot speak highly enough about the location, quality of accommodation, and the hospitality of Sofia and her husband. The historic building which has been sympathetically updated internally provides a homely and comfortable base for exploring the Old Town of Rhodes. We stayed three nights (21st - 24th Sept) and our room was downstairs. The hot water can be slow coming but it does come! A Greek style breakfast was served on the evocative upstairs balcony at a small extra cost. There is an intimacy and homely atmosphere reflecting the hospitality of Sofia and her husband who went out of their way to be helpful. We would return here and encourage our friends to visit because the reasonable cost is remarkably good value.

Room Tip: An upstairs room may have roof top views but any of the rooms have their own features.

I got very lucky with Sofia approaching me at the port when I arrived . I'm a solo traveler that hadn't book a hotel yet and to have a woman there I felt safe and assured she would take care of me . The hotel is in a great location . The room was cozy , very clean and a warm feeling of home . Sofia was so accommodating I wanted to call her Mom . I highly recommend this place.

Sofia was very warm and welcoming and we were shown to a lovely room. The breakfast was very good taken on a shady leafy terrace and nothing was too much trouble. Perfect for exploring the old town of Rhodes, but if going further into the Island may be a little difficult.
