“Really nice place......good rooms very clean”
Reviewed 2 September 2011

The welcome was not great but I later learned that the lady who is running the hotel does not have many staff and does the reception and bar herself. There is one other girl who works in afternoons called Helen who can be a bit grumpy and sarcastic but she was 8 months pregnant so maybe that's why. Anyway the room was fantastic, we had 2 balconies in our apartment one had sunrise and the other had sunset, the cooking facilities are basic but all work and everything was clean. If you can't sleep of a really soft bed like me I'd advise you to take the mattress off the bed, sounds crazy but the reason it is so soft is because underneath is a mattress base! Only realized this 2 nights before we left after having a bad back for days. There is a hairdryer so no need to take one but the hotel does not have Irons. The pool is fine, supermarkets close by in all directions there is a really good one about a 10 min walk if you come out of the hotel to the main road and turn left keep walking its just after the petrol station called nannu it has lots of variety's of fruit and veg and meat etc. The beach nearby is pebbly but not too crowded, I would recommend Zorbas restaurant just as your walking down to the beach, good portions and nice food but watch out for the mozzes they are everywhere!
The hotel bar is crap, they only sell crappy cheap burgers and microwave style pizzas so best to go to supermarket or eat out! There is not much really to do in that part of Ixia all the fun is in Rhodes town which is 14 euro in a taxi. Close to airport though. There seems to be a livelier bit if you turn right from the hotel further down that road. You must visit Lindos! If you hire a car i strongly recommend driving to the bottom of the island and visiting Prassonisi beach its a surfers mecca as there is 2 currents meeting there is a spit of sand that leads to another part of the island which you have to wade through the sea to reach its a little scary as it went up to my shoulders and had currents but it was fun when you got to the other side.......beware of kite surfers! If anyone likes fabric there is an amazing fabric store on the hill just before you go into Rhodes old town......a must for any textile enthusiast. Rhodes is a lovely island I can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: ask for an apartment, it might cost more but its so much bigger

Me and my bf stayed at the Anita Apart Hotel from the 6th July till the 20th. I was thrilled when I booked the holiday and congratulated myself on finding a 4* in greece at such a cheap rate. However, my initial impression of the hotel was huge disappointment. We arrived at the reception to be greeted by a surly receptionist who demanded 9 euros a night for A/C - probably niave on my part but the website I booked through led me to believe that it was included. The safe was 30 euros - quite reasonable however it didnt look to safe been a filing cabinet behind the reception although we had no problems throughout the holiday.
My bf and I had upgraded to an apartment instead of the studio and that was the saving grace of the holiday. The apartment was spacious and clean enough however A/C was confined to the bedroom area and I wondered how families dealt with this as the children sleeping in the lounge area must have found it unbearably hot at night. The pool area is very basic, lots of concrete, long grass, plastic sun loungers and as we found out a resident wasps nest (everyday dozens of wasps sat around the pool and my bf did get stung more than once).
The apartment was cleaned everyday which was always fine, the double balconys is really just one long narrow one with basic furniture, we were in the main reception block and out balcony looked straight onto another apartment so privacy was an issue.
The bar area is quite lovely, I enjoyed sitting there with a drink before heading out for dinner.

Overall we had a lovely holiday, if i'd have booked a 2/3* apartment then I wouldnt have been so disappointed with what we got. Next time I think if its to good to be true then it probably is.

Me and my girlfriend lived in one of their apartments for 2 weeks, here are some info:
Hotel: good room. Renovated. Only one cockroach. Near the beach. Pretty big. Nice balcony. Everything worked.
Hotell staff: mixed impression. One was ignorant, arrogant and irritating. Some were decent and gave a good impression.
Hotell milieu: good location. But. A lot of noice. Alcoholics drank several days in a row. Shouted and argued upon several occations. Hostile. Played loud music in the early morning and late night. It was reported but not much happened.
Cleaning staff: actually the worst so far. Came around at 9 a clock. Didn't speak english. Didn't clean anything then the garbage bin. A lot of filth accumulated over some time. Changed sheets one time. Changed towels a couple of times. This was mentioned but nothing happened.
Pool Area: small but okey. Sunchairs are free.

Situated in a good location not far to walk into IXIA centre or Ialysos centre - we preferred Ialysos, regular buses pass on the road a 2 minute walk away(1 euro 10 cents to get to Rhodes). The West coast is the windy side with mainly pebble beaches but some lovely places. The apartments were nipping clean with sheets and towels changed more than once in the week we were there, Air Con 63 euros (emphasis on con!) for the week and security box 20 so 83 euros light as soon as you walk in the door - but speaking to some locals in greece electricity is very expensive and the government won't let them use solar power other than for water how mad is that. The sun beds need mattresses or a five minute walk to the beach and it's 4 euros all day with shade. Although there was no kettle there was a small milk pan that did the same job, why do Brits always want a kettle, the fridge worked really well and there were no complaints if you took your own drink to the pool. I'd definately

My husband and I stayed in these apartments at the beginning of June, we were a little worried before we traveled as we could not find any reviews about these apartments but on arrival we were pleasantly surprised and very happy with the accommodation. We booked a studio room which was very spacious, bright, clean and the furniture was very modern, the only thing missing was a kettle so we purchased 1 from the supermarket which cost us 10 euros (bargain). The pool area was nice, apart from the plastic sunbeds, they could do with sunbed mattresses on them, the gardens and communal areas were always kept neat and tidy. We paid 20 euros for a safety deposit box which is a must but we managed without the aircon as it cost 65 euros for the week which we thought was a bit steep. It is approx 10 minutes walk to Ixia centre where you ll find a wide variety of restaurants and bars, Rhodes town is about 10 - 15 minutes drive away and there is a regular bus service with the bus stop been right outside the apartments. All in all we feel these apartments are good value for money and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

I don't want to write a bad review about this place as we had no major problems but I have to be honest and say we were disappointed with Anita as we had been told it was 4 star.Even the travel agent said that the 4 stars were realistic for thisapartment hotel but unfortunately when we arrived we soon found it not to be the case. It is a basic self catering appartment which is fine but its hard to cater for yourself without a kettle of all things or an iron. These were not even available upon request from reception. The shower was a hand held shower which you couldnt stand under which was also a pain. Another issue was the 63 eurosa week it cost for air con which of course you cannot do without in the intense Greek heat.
The hotel does have a pool but the pool area is sadly a rather unattractive concrete and grass area with cheap plastic loungers. When walking around Rhodes we walked past lots of pool areas that made us wish we were staying there instead.
The hotel isnt in a bad location. It is walking distance to the bars and resteraunts but its a bit of a trek if you don't feel like walking but there are very regular busses just on the main road outside. It isnt far to the beach but the nearest beach isnt great and its bets to to go a bit further afield to find another as there are beaches in every direction and most are nicer than the local one.
The staff at the hotel are pretty nice and helpful but I would just say if you are going here don't expect 4 star but it certainly isnt a terrible place to stay, just very basic indeed.

This is a very clean apart-hotel, towels and bedding changed every other day, bins emptied daily. The apartments are very spacious, we had a one bedroom apartment and were very pleasantly suprised at the space provided, lounge/dining kitchen, shower room and bedroom, patio doors from both the kitchen /diner and the bedroom lead onto the balcony. A bit of advice, if you are less mobile, there are at least 24 steps to negotiate to the 3rd floor and a dozen to a ground floor room (you have to go up before you go down !) A very nice pool and sunbeds (very uncomfortable) situated in between the apartments blocks making them private. Aircon is available but maybe a bit pricey at 9 euros a night, safety deposit box at 15 euros a week and keeping your room longer at 5 euros an hour (check-out is 12 noon). They advertise a snack bar but they only do 1 pizza and 1 hamburger at present, there is also a bar within the reception area and internet facilities at 1 euro for 20 mins (we were unable to connect both times we tried it). There are a couple of snack bars close by though, one by turning right at the top (debbys) and one if you go through the side gate near the pool (apollo, also a shop) and another shop on the main road. English and other nationalities use the hotel, the only package company in the UK using these apartments are Olympic Holidays, they also rent the rooms out through lowcostbeds.com. The apartments are well situated for both Ixia and Illyassos, a 10 min walk either way and you are in the hub of it all. It is located on the main Ixia to Illyassos road which is very busy but stands back from the road so the noise isn't too bad. the resort is close to the airport so there is alot of aircraft noise at times (it didn't bother us at all). All in all a very nice break for the money.
