“Pool closes so early!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

Just checked in to our room and the hotel is very lovely. The rooms are spacious and clean. However, I think they could use more furnishing, the second office room is a little empty feeling.
The grounds and pools are beautiful. The food is good and overall seems to be a pretty good value for the price. The hotel seems very quiet, I think it may be empty as it is early in the season. My only complaint so far are the pools close at 630 pm!!

I think the pool closing time should be more clear. On the website and in the reservation I could not find this information. I am attending a conference and will not return until after 6pm and will not have anytime to use the pools during my stay. I would have reserved a room with a private pool if I knew this or booked at another hotel. It was not even that much more for a room with a private pool at the time of reservation, really disappointed now.

I have stayed in hotels all over the world but can't remember staff so friendly and willing to make your holiday so memorable.
I would particularly like to thank Christos, the manager; Maria for service in the restaurant and Mariza at the pool bar. All staff had permanent smiles and would treat you as one of the family.
The food in this hotel is excellent and the chef would ensure your every need. He would cook you a special dish if you could not find something from the buffet or menu you liked.
The rooms are large and if you like the sun worth requesting a pool view room. Higher floors offer better views.
I appreciate this is a modern open plan hotel but would have liked to see more comfortable chairs in the bar area to mellow the "glass box" effect.
Some comfortable seating outside to watch the sunsets may also be beneficial + mattresses on the sunbeds.
We did use the a la carte restaurant a couple of times but found it very humid as there is no air conditioning.
Would I go back> Without a doubt. Gordon G.

Room Tip: If your not happy talk to the staff.

Everything about this hotel is fantastic from the food, to the rooms, to the view, etc BUT what really makes this hotel is the staff!!! Absolutely awesome. My partner and I were made to feel like we were royalty!! Nothing was too much trouble. The food is fantastic!!!! Massive thanks in particular to the staff that made it so special...Maria, Sasha, Michalis and Julian!!!! I am a massive snob - unfortunately, and I would rate this extremely highly!!! Don't hesitate to book this with thomson - they were fantastic also!!!! Xxx

Room Tip: Ask for a high room on floors 5 -7. If you can afford it get a shared private pool or private room p...

Having travelled to Rhodes many times, this has to be the best hotel I have ever stayed in on the island. Could not fault it. Had a room on the Ist floor with a jacuzzi bath and huge balcony to watch the sun go down over Turkey in the evenings and watch the cruise liners sail in and out of Rhodes. Staff could not do enough for you especially Christos and his team in the restaurant . Swimming pools spotlessly clean and pool bar excellent and very reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel. Buffet breakfast had everything you could imagine including smoked salmon and Buck's Fizz and very well organised. For a special treat visit the hotel spa for one of its many treatments available and use the spa facilities including pool , jacuzzi , steam and sauna. This hotel is a little gem and we have already booked to go back on October 18th for a week to recharge the batteries before the winter sets in.

Well it was either Brazil or Rhodes and as the cost of 2 weeks in Brazil was way out of our price range we settled for the ''Devil you know'' and went back to Rhodes. This year we decided to stay at the Atrium as we had called in on the second day it opened, had a look around and said we would come back one day!. So here we were. A 5 star hotel and one of the best on the island. Could we find anything to complain about.....only the Liverpool fan who left club flag hanging over the balcony!! The staff were very helpful. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were made welcome. Tassos on reception checked us in very quickly and we were soon in our room which was on the first floor..Room123...so easy to remember! Twin beds, soft sheets fluffy pillows. Air con that works. Bathroom and shower, twin sinks. Change of towels twice a day, beds turned down, free bottle of wine, water and a bowl of fruit. And the cheapest mini bar that I've ever come across!!! As the World Cup was on we were able to watch the games in our room on tv, but being English the less said about that the better!! Our view from the balcony was a side sea view with the Turkish coastline in the distance and a great place to watch the sun go down!
Now to the food. We went bed and breakfast so can not comment on the evening meals but they did look good. Every morning we were greeted by Christos ( I wear a different suit everyday!) the Maitre D'.He would show us to our table overlooking the sea, great view! Fresh orange and coffee was served by Maria( lovely girl!) and the rest of the staff. Buffet breakfast which had everything from fresh fruit, breads, cheeses to smoked salmon! Cava for a buck fizz if needed. Also if you wanted poached eggs the chef was happy to make you them. Couldn't fault a thing. Even the toaster was good!!!
Pool area is small in one way but suited our needs. 2 pools and a pool bar, very important! Some people were up at the crack of dawn to get sunbeds but we managed to get 2 beds most days.Free towels are provided. I have forgotten the name of the barman but he and his team worked very hard all day serving drinks and food. Special mention to Sasha, she makes a good cup of coffee!! Lunch can be taken round the pool are just inside where it's cooler and in the shade. Greek food.....just love it!!
There is a mini-market in the hotel near the pool. Morning papers are usually in by 10am! It is run by Mary and she is very helpful. The surprising thing at the shop is that they sell cold cans of beers and soft drinks at market prices!!! Bottles of water at 50cents and not 3euros as at a previous hotel we use to stay at and beer at 1 euro a can!
Would we stay here again? You betcha. We have already booked to go back in October on a H.B basis. So watch out Christos we're coming to get you!!!

Room Tip: First floor rooms are close to the pool and the back way into the hotel. Reception is on the 8th flo...

This hotel did indeed come up to its 5 star rating and I could not fault it. Our room was superb - large with a super bathroom, shower that worked and always hot water. The balcony was large and the view was wonderful. You could not ask for better food - it was plentiful whatever time you went to the restaurant and such variety - meats, fish, poultry, salads, vegetables etc. etc. The staff all over the hotel were attentive and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The evening entertainment was good, too.
The Hotel is within easy reach of the beach and it is possible, to walk into Rhodes town, but the bus stop is near and the fare is cheap. A taxi from the hotel to Rhodes town is 10 euro and from the taxi rank 8 euro.
I definitely recommend a stay here and will return next time we visit Rhodes!

Room Tip: We were on 6th floor - room 632 - excellent position with sunny balcony.

We have returned from the first 2-week holiday we have had for several years. We took the opportunity whilst there celebrating my husband's birthday and our friend's very special wedding anniversary. Would have stayed longer if only that were an option. Did not get bored.

As booked, we were given a room overlooking the enormous pool area and sea view. Perfect position - 2nd floor Room 201; short walk down winding steps which led directly to the pool area. Our friends were upgraded to an Executive room with a sea view. Larger than our room (which was large). Their en suite had a walk-in shower. Our shower in the bath was badly placed. Floor got flooded if we used with shower head attached to unit as seal poor but we found a way to use it to reduce flooding. Didn't worry us as we were provided with plenty of towels which were strategically placed on the floor. Super king size mattress was very comfortable and bedding was changed regularly. Tea/coffee milk and sugar provided and replenished. Fridge was very useful. We moved the hotel products over to accommodate our small bottles of water. On arrival, we were each given a bottle of wine and a dish of fresh fruit. When management realised we were there celebrating special events in our lives, we were given a bottle each of sparkling wine and a platter of cut fruit.

Now onto the staff and food. Excellent. Delightful, happy, friendly, courteous, helpful - main reception, porters, chamber maids, pool staff, bar staff, management, hotel mini market and especially restaurant staff. Christos, the Maitre d', made it his business to learn our names and greet us and wish us a nice day/evening each and every time we entered and left 'his' restaurant. The friendliness of the staff from his ladies that directed us to our tables and all the waitresses and waiters, Theo, Michalis, Maria to name but a few that looked after us at mealtimes behaved impeccably. Lefteris, the restaurant Chef and his staff are magnificent.

The buffet meals provided at breakfast, lunch and evening meal is extensive. I could always find something delicious to eat. Meat, fish and vegetarian options are plentiful. Though I did find some dishes not as hot as I prefer , the staff always accommodated my request to heat up a dish without exception. In addition, and I do not think we were in isolation, the Chef made a number of evening main courses, fish and duck, especially for our party. We felt special and spoilt.

The staff clearly know how to make their guests welcome.

A easy 5/10 minute taxi ride into Rhodes Town, Old and New areas - 10 euros if booked at hotel reception and 8 euros back from the town. Very easy to find taxis at the entrances to the Old Town.

Worth a visit - the one remaining Jewish synagogue and museum in the old town. Quickest walk to those is by being dropped off at the Virgin Gate and a short sign posted walk.

The many shops and restaurants/bars in the old town kept us busy several evenings and a couple of early evening visits. Recommend you visit Socratous Garden off Socratous Street where we enjoyed a drink and/or snack.

I highly recommend the Atrium Platinum Hotel. There is a bar near the exit to the beach Yiannis Bar where we spent many evenings drinking cocktails and obviously watching the World Cup matches. Again, Nicos at the bar made it his business to know our order. Many evenings Christos and his team arrived for drinks at the bar and we're always as friendly and polite as in the hotel.

The other bar nearer to the hotel on the exit towards the beach (which has a mini golf section) we avoided after the owner made some derogatory remarks about some Atrium Platinum guests. We felt his attitude was bigoted and this was not somewhere or someone where we wished to spend our time.

No doubt we will go back to the Atrium Platinum.
