“EXTREMELY HOSPITABLE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2011

The staff in the hotel and spa were extremely hospitable, friendly and very helpful regarding local information. The location was ideal for this time of year being close to the old city and new center. We had a standard room at the back of the hotel which was
quiet, clean and adequate. The balcony's view of some ruins was not so impressive.
On the Internet I could not find car hire for just one day. We found out that you could hire a car from Budget for one day at a reasonable price. I was collected from the hotel by someone from Budget in order to pick up the car from the Grand Hotel and the
car was collected from my hotel the following day. Sightseeing around the island including Lindos can be done in one day.
One can find locally made tablecloths and traditional lace garments ,but it is worth comparing prices for the same item before buying.

Where do I start.. Well I dug deep to book this hotel as a treat for my partner. One of the main things I chose it for was the Jacuzzi. on arrival We were greeted nicely and shown to our room. The room seemed nice however we soon discovered that the Jacuzzi barely worked and the bottom of the bath kept overheating and burning our skin, as well as this black mould was coming out of the jets and once the Jacuzzi was switched off it kept mysteriously switching itself back on.
We registered our findings with reception (in a very friendly and polite manner) no less that four times over a four day period of our 1 weeks stay. Eventually a maid attended our room and switched on the Jacuzzi, she was very off hand (clearly not believing we were genuine) and persistently kept digging me in the ribs and rambling on in her agitated mother tongue. Well she ended up quite embarrassed to see there was mould appearing and also witnessed it overheating the bottom of the bath as well as switching itself back on (I thought the digging in the ribs probably 8 or 10 times was bordering on assault).
We were moved rooms and one of the senior staff said they would make it up to us (They never did offer us anything).
Furthermore it seemed like a lovely idea eating on the roof terrace and the first time we did this we really enjoyed it. The second and third time were terrible and understaffed with only one person running the roof terrace single handed and having to go from the top of the building down a few floors to bring meals and other things up from the kitchen, the wait and general level of service was awful (and I don't really complain about much at all in life) It was shockingly poor and we watched people getting up and walking out , people were generally getting up tight. I would like to add that the member of staff was lovely and hard working, it was a fault of staffing levels along with organisational issues.
The hotel had a live musican performing on a regular basis, she was okay if you were happy with 70's style Elkie Brooks type stuff.. Well we felt it was totally out of date and that the hotel was out of touch with what people wanted to hear.
On settling the bill I asked for a discount considering all of the above as we'd paid about £250 per night needless to say the Manager declined any reduction.
In summary, would I recommend Rodos Park Suites and Spa.. Certainly not! Poor value for money and poor service.

We chose this hotel because it was within walking distance of the Old Town. When we arrived, we found our "deluxe double" was not ready, since it was the day after New Years.
We also found it rather small, but the fellow at the front desk was amenable to upgrading (for a cost) to a suite, which turned out to be very comfortable and pleasant. The staff was wonderful, and the place was mostly empty. Be forwarned, that the city basically "closes down" when it's off-season, and stores in Old town only open when a cruise ships stops by! We were lucky to be able to have a day like that, on for the other days of our trip, we rented a car very cheaply and toured the Island on our own- down to Lisdos one day and Monolithos on another. The views are amazing, the weather was mostly pleasant (one day of rain only) and we even made it to the Casino and lost and won a bit. Highly recoommended for a break away from the noisy pace of home.

This is a luxurious hotel that pays attention to detail with staff that are friendly and helpful. Its easy to see why they are members of SLH. The rooms are modern and clean with very comfortable beds.

The pool area is lovely with cabana, pool bar, loungers and is kept spotless despite the abundance of greenery surrounding the whole area.

The hotel common spaces are stunning, very elegant, stylish, chic and comfortable, I wish I had taken photos.

The restaurant food was amazing, and the staff vey obliging. Room service was fantastic, brought on a trolley/table and very nicely presented, the portions were so huge we couldn't eat it all.

The hotel is located close to one of the gates into the old city and minutes from the business and shopping centre. There is a childrens park with cafes across the road from the hotel which would keep the little ones occupied for hours while the adults sip drinks in the shade of the trees.

We loved it and can't wait to return.

Very handy for old town. All walkable. No parking but plenty of space around.

This is definitely hotel geared towards the business traveller, with an outside pool and in the quiet location yet close to the Old Town.

Depending whether your room was at the front (large, with balcony) or at the back (cramped, tiny bathroom, overlooking the ancient ruins) you felt like you were at either excellent four star establishment or a very average three star one. The discount on the three star rooms does not reflect the chasm between the two.

We liked the drawing room to the side of the reception with its classic furnishing. The pool was excellent, typically empty (that at the height of the season) - this was epitomised by the sporadic bar service.

Dining room plainly was furnished yet quite functional. Breakfast selection was tasty but not overly diverse. The Galaxy Bar on the roof was great for that last drink of the night with superb views over the Old Town.

Staff were very efficient and well used to satisfying the most quirky demands from the guests. Internet, in common with the rest of Greece, was charged for.

Staying at the Rodos Park you had the impression the hotel was casting its net very wide to attract the custom (there was a tango club session one evening at the pool bar, or birthday party at another) to some detriment of its guests. Very efficient operation indeed but one without that human, friendly feel we all like at holidays.
