“Best way to eat”
Reviewed 9 July 2013 via mobile

We went to Boukia Boukia on the recommendation if our hotel and ended up eating there three times in four days!! It's best for lunch. There are no menus and you are invited to look at what's been prepared that day in the kitchen and choose what you like. There are different things each day and a good range of meat and vegetable options (which I was craving - Greece is so meat heavy). There are no prices but don't be deterred - it is dirt cheap! You will be pleasantly surprised! I wish there were more restaurants that operated this way. It's great!

“Great lunchtime venue”
Reviewed 30 June 2013

We went to Boukia following a recommendation, and upon arriving we were told by the owner that lunch was not ready come back in an hour! We are so glad that we did. Greek (tapas size/style) dishes to die for and an unhurried approach with good house wine! It was so cheap that we though that there had been a mistake with the bill! Go to Boukia!
(It was so good we went back later that afternoon for another drink and snack!)

“Great authentic home cooking style Greek meal”
Reviewed 25 June 2013

My wife and I were looking for an authentic Greek meal and were lucky to find this restaurant. What an incredible experience! When we arrived, their were no guests, so the two lady cooks came out of the kitchen to greet us. They welcomed us back into the kitchen, so we could see what was being prepared for the evening's dinner. They allowed us to pick out any items we liked to build a huge plate of fresh fish and vegetarian dishes - all for under 10 euro! They also had meat dishes, but we were not interested based on our preferences.

If you want to get away from overpriced tourist traps and standard fare, then I recommend giving this nice little restaurant a try to experience local cuisine.

“Go where the locals go - best option in Rhodes old town”
Reviewed 21 May 2013

In a side street, not far away from the hassle of Socrates street, we found this little gem of Greek home cooking. We got the tip from a local, and we were surely not disappointed and we repeated our visit several times during our stay in Rhodes old town.
I loved the concept. As soon as you come in, you are invited in the kitchen to choose from the selection of dishes of the day. There is no menu, but the prices are democratic and this "system" gives you the opportunity to try different things and at the same time you know exactly what you order beforehand. I guess you could call this a fast slow-food venue :-) The food was really delicious, and there are plenty of choices for vegans and vegetarians as well! Such a wonderful, relaxed place after all the tourist traps on the main street in Rhodes. Friendly family running the place. A must if you like casual dining and delicious home cooking!
