“Island Business Trip”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

Visited the island for a business trip. The hotel was busy but the staff and facilities handled the volume beautifully! The multiple restaurants provided ample food options for meals that we're not able to be taken outside of the hotel.

The hotel is great.
Room service is very fast and useful, everyone is very friendly and kind.
There's a lot to eat for breakfast and lunch, but I didn't really like the dinner, couldn't really find anything to eat (although my mom ate pretty much everything).
The rooms are clean and nice, and so is the hotel.
The pools are clean aswell and are fairly big.
The hotel's location is great, it's about a 20 minute walk from rodos city (or 5 euros in a cab), and it's pretty much on the beach, so no need to walk far :-)
All in all, I really like the hotel and sorry if there are any missing things in the review, it's my first review.

Arriving in the lobby you are met with promise of all good things to come. Even getting as far as the elevators and outdoor pool area, the 5 star rating lives up to its expectations. Problems, however, arise when you get into the elevator and make the journey up to your designated floor. As you swipe the room key card your expectations are severely dwindling as the rooms boasting a 'garden' or 'sea view' offer nothing of the sort. Twin beds, basic accommodation, old furniture that has seen better days and a mini bar that was empty! To arrive after HOURS of travelling not so much as a bottle of water in the fridge. Other friends who stayed at the same time in the hotel paying the same price and for the same type of room, however, did receive a stocked mini bar. Unfortunate for me. The fridge in the room also did not keep anything cold.

Another given in today's swiftly moving society would be some sort of provision for free wifi in the lobby or beside the pool area. Instead you are met with exuberant charges of €2.00 for 15 minutes or the even more outrageous charge of €85.00 for the week!! Paying for 5 star accommodation you would except better rates as standard. Free wifi in the lobby even! Note that I was here for a conference through work and internet access was pretty much a necessity. I have stayed in better 3 star hotels just down the road with free wifi (take note).

In any other country this hotel would receive a 3 star rating at best! That, however, is being generous. Apart from an over the top, ornate lobby and fully decked out pool area (boasting several swimming pools, beautifully lit at night) this hotel does not live up to its 5 star rating! If you wish to splurge your hard earned cash on a fancy hotel, I suggest staying elsewhere.

Staying for a conference for an extended period of time this hotel could have done a lot more considering it was visited daily by a few hundred people who were attending. Disappointed doesn't cover it as we were all really looking forward to our stay. A beautiful hotel from the outside, it needs to up its game by renovating its rooms, looking into the internet issue and not treating the diners like they are in a cattle market. It could be a good hotel if there was work put in! Don't try to distract people with a fancy lobby and pool area!

The distance from the old town however is about ten minutes in a taxi and there is a beach just across the road from the hotel which is a lot less noisier than the hotel pool areas. Tavernas and little cafes dot the footpaths as you leave the hotel but a visit to the old town is a must. Boasting cobbled streets and lots of quaint tavernas and shops and a delightful harbour. Rich in history also.

we stayed at this hotel from 30 aug 13 for a week we convinced ourselves that a 5 rated hotel must be clean stylish and have professional staff how wrong were we ? the hotel is old very tired and has the most hostile rude staff of any hotel i have stayed the other guests were like animals at mealtimes and if you speak with a british accent you are condemned to a week of filthy looks and terrible service trying to get a sunbed around the pool is impossible if you like to eat breakfast forget it together as we had to split up two of us ate while the other two sat on the loungers all this had to be done by 9 or you missed out.evening meal was a complete shambles instead of dressing for dinner in your new holiday outfits as should befit a 5 star hotel you have to queue up straight from the pool or beach because once those doors open at 7pm its like a scene from a disaster film where people havnt eaten for days children trying food and then spitting it out back nto the serving dish and if u didnt get there at 7 on the dot by 715 there would be no plates anyway if u thought u might fancy dessert then u had to get it before eating dinner as this would be demolished first .the olympic rep only visited once and that morning visit is to sell you trips not to listen to complaints the hotel manager is only interested in his corporate guests or the israelie returning guests of which there were many please do not be seduced by the holiday price thinking as we did that 5 star for the price we paid couldn be bad it was and ive stayed in a hut on the beach in goa so i know basis but ive also stayed at sandals barbados so know luxury too this was meant as a last minute med holiday before returning to work and school it was a mistake .

What can someone say about Rodos Palace? An iconic hotel that has accommodated eminent personalities and celebrities. It's definitely not a new hotel, but it certainly breathes the island's old glory and luxury. Lovely pools, amazing lounges, an impressive dome with an indoor pool -that used to be bigger however. The gardens, the garden suites, the private pool suites...simply amazing. The poolside restau is lovely and quite affordable and the dinner buffets fantastic.

Request for a room in the VIP tower with sea view. It's worth the money they are asking. Scintillating sunset sea views. The hotel is located merely 10 minutes by car from the Old Town and many attractions. There are nearby supermarkets and many restaurants. And the bus stop is right on the coastal avenue.

Being going to this hotel for the last 10 years and every time I keep saying to myself that it's not the last. Rhodes is an AMAZING island, with incredible attractions, lovely beaches, the most well preserved Medieval town in Europe and a turbulent history. Cannot be missed!

Room Tip: VIP Tower Sea view upper floors

True to its name, Rodos palace is a hotel sprawled over a huge are. It has 7 swimming pools within its premises, various gardens, spectacular beach view from beach side rooms, very spacious rooms , big balconies, great hospitality & a huge breakfast spread.

Also this was the only place in Greece, that sent us champagne & choc-dipped fruits as a welcome to us as a honeymooning couple!

Its very centrally located in ixia as every touristy spot is within a radius of 20 kms. Its on the main road so that makes it very accessible & its closer to the airport as opposed to many other hotels.

We visited this hotel in July 2013 and it was fantastic, I was very nervous when reading the mixed reviews on this website however I didn't need to worry. There was 5 of us travelling between the age of 23-60 and we were all very impressed, we booked 2 garden suites and 1 hotel room which in the end didn't get used as the garden suites were huge! The critisism for the garden suites are that they are up a hill therefore if you have bad knees, it is not advisable! The garden suites with the private pool do look lovely however we never got one.

The garden suite has everything you need including a full use kitchen, balcony and was very clean.

There is 1 big swimming pool, a childrens pool and an indoor pool - we always managed to find a space around the outdoor pool but there is the usual towels being left on chairs to watch out for - the indoor pool was ok but we never used this.

The resturant for meals was a little hectic but you did need to form a queue to be seated, mostly people pushing infront of either out however this didn't cause us any issues. We never ate in the other resturant in the hotel but there is that option.

My family has some treatments done at the spa and said they were fantastic and not like other hotel spas where not much effort is put in.

The location was ok but ideally you need a mode of transport, bus, taxi to go and see the Rhodes town centre or visit other parts of the island - my fiance and I decided to walk to the centre whilst my parents took a taxi and they were waiting around 40minutes-1 hour for us.

All in all we were very happy with this hotel and I am sorry for being nervous before I went.
