The Hotel is beautifully located only 4 km from the Old Town. The rooms are perfectly decorated and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast buffet is excellent. We arrived at the hotel late at night and were very friendly welcomed at the reception. We will come back for sure.

We just got back from Greece after spending 8 nights at this wonderful resort in Rhodes and 4 nights directly in Athens.
Instead of taking a ferry or boat, we flew into Rhodes. There are not that many Connections depending where you're coming from. We decided to book a flight with Aegean and they were very friendly. The airport is a typical small airport for a holiday destination. We got in at 11pm and didn't have to wait long for our bags. The tour operators are lined up outside in the arrival hall to pick up their guests. We had booked our trip individually and took a taxi to the Sheraton. It was about 17 EUR and doesn't take longer than 15min depending on traffic.
When we arrived at the hotel which is located on the very busy main road (as are all the hotels and restaurants), the taxi had to enter through gates which had to be opened manually by a security guard sitting in a booth right at the entrance to the resort. That makes you feel quite secure. To get to the main entrance, the taxi drove up a driveway and we were greeted by members of the staff immediately although it was almost midnight.
The check-in was a little disappointing, not really a warm and friendly check-in. Maybe it was because they were in the middle of the shift changeover, but then again the guest should be more important.
The room was very spacious and modern - a large kingsize bed, two chairs and a small coffee table, a desk to work at and the minibar was empty so you can store drinks or snacks. We had an upgrade to a sea view room and I can totally recommend this type of room. It faced north, meaning you got a little bit of sun in the mornings, little during the day and the beautiful sunset at night. As the AC worked great, there never was a problem with high temperatures. The room had a balcony with two chairs and a table. We had dinner out there one night watching the sunset. It was beautiful. It also overlooked the main pool area and the beach. The bathroom was also quite big. It had a tub including the shower. At this resort you can decide whether you'd like to have your room cleaned or not, you just have to put out a sign before 2am. If you don't want your room cleaned, you can receive a 5 EUR food and beverage voucher.
Breakfast was served from 7am to 10.30 am. The staff was very, very friendly and thoughtful. They all tried their best to make everybody feel welcome and special. That really made a difference. There are tables available outside by the pool and inside the restaurant. It can get a little crowed by 9.30 am because that is the time everybody wants to have breakfast. We went a little earlier than that and never hat any waiting line. The quality of the breakfast is very good. It offers fresh fruit, greek yogurt, all kinds of bread, pastries, cereal, beans, bacon, eggs, etc. They have two cooking stations inside and one outside for pancakes, eggs.
The resort offers a couple of shops. One is like a small supermarket, another offers clothing and a different one ice cream and frozen yogurt. There is also a gym and spa.
To get to the beach, you can get some towels at a hut that is located by the main pool. You walk towards the entrance of the resort and then through a small tunnel to get to the beach. There are sun loungers and sunshades available. Most of the other hotels have their guests cross the busy road whenever they want to go to the beach, so I think this is a very nice service. The beach is very narrow and it is no typical sand beach, but after a few steps into the water it is just fine. There is a constant warm breeze that makes it easy to enjoy the beach even if it is really hot.
We never had dinner at one of the restaurants at the hotel, but went out most of the time. There are many restaurants, bars and shops on the main road. They mostly offer the same Food (some Greek food such as gyros or moussaka, pizza and pasta, fresh salads, fish and seafood) and drinks so we can't really recommend any. All of them were really friendly.
One night we ordered room service at the hotel. We had two beef burgers which were excellent. They also brought up a free dessert and a salad.
We arranged for a day trip to Lindos (a must see) at the hotel. It was about 27 EUR per Person including the pick-up at the hotel, the boat trip to and from Lindos, a stop for swimming, the drop-off at the hotel). The staff member working at the SPG desk arranged it for us. She was very nice and helpful. We really enjoyed talking to her.
The check-out was not as friendly as expected because no one asked about our stay or anything.
Altogether, I can absolutely recommend this resort whether you travel with your partner or with your Family.

Great hotel, the locatio is a little out of town so you really need to get a taxi ecah night, we did try walking but it took well over an hour and a half. The waiting staff at Breakfast seemed a little slow but amybe that is just the greek lifestyle. Good hotel with Good facilities and I was very impressed that we got a room to get showered and changed before our late night flight.

Positive:

Friendly staff, generally good service.

Very welcoming to us as a family with small children.

Choice of pools.

Great views from 6th floor bar.

Good room service menu.

Good restaurants.

Hotel better than I had expected after reading some reviews on here.

Breakfast times good 7-10:30.

The option to cancel housekeeping for a day in exchange for a £5 food and beverage voucher.

It worked out better for value for us compared to other 5* hotels in other countries because of the reduced/free child rates.

Short transfer from airport (approx 20 mins).

Small park for children.

Negative:

Hard to find sunbeds on occasions (we travelled peak time though).

Minor but I wish they had nuts, seeds, cinammon etc to go with porridge at breakfast.

Pools were a bit too cold.

Wifi - only a 90 minute free session per day if you sit in the lobby. This was hard for me with 2 young children so I didn't use it. You could pay to use it elsewhere in the hotel - 15 euros for 24 hours. Sheraton need to modernise and provide free wifi in more areas of the hotel. Or charge far less for the wifi. Other good hotels I have visited in the last few years provide free wifi in all public areas. Small independent restaurants outside the hotel provide free wifi so I don't understand why a Sheraton hotel can't. (Main reason for not rating excellent).

Local area not pretty although does have an atm, pharmacy, restaurants, mini market. You can walk for 10 minutes to a strip with more choice of restaurants (opposite direction to old town). You have to get cabs into the old/new town - 10 euros one way (5km).

We got a bit fed up of the poolside restaurant menu.

Not the nicest of beaches so not the best place for people who want to spend most of their time on the beach.

Where to start??? Just got home from 2 weeks at the sheraton with my hubby and 9 year old daughter and we loved it!
The hotel looks beautiful set into the mountain, and our room had amazing views across the sea to turkey! Stunning!
The most impressive thing tho is the staff. I have never been to a hotel where the staff are as amazing as here. Nothing is too much trouble, they are always smiling, so friendly, Theodora, 2 michaels & the other waitresses at the pool bar have been so lovely and have been so attentive and friendly can't thank them enough for their wonderful hospitality. Eleni, Dita & Sakis at the view bar on 6th floor again amazing, superb service with a smile guaranteed, along with all the waiters/waitresses who has made our stay so special.
The animation team, Rik-e, raul, Richard & Saskia have been so much fun, my daughter has thoroughly enjoyed their games and mini discos so much, she cried all the way to the airport cos she misses them already! Would be nice if the sheraton gave the kids club a bigger venue so they could do more activities in doors, maybe incorporating to games room so it's cooler and more to do, but the outdoor activities at the pool are fab and fun. And was a pleasure getting to know the animation team! Eden loves you all and willbe teaching all the disco moves to everyone for a long time I'm sure!!!
The Italian restaurant was beautiful- stunning views and superb food although a little pricey but well worth it. Sit on the 6th floor on the comfy sofas and watch the sunset over the mountains of Turkey aNd those moments are priceless!!
We have really enjoyed our stay here and recommend the hotel especially for families
We enrolled our daughter at surfers paradise surf school on the beach and that was amazing too
So many happy memories ansa great choice for our first holiday in Greece.

Room Tip: Sea view without a doubt!!!

This is a classical large hotel. Clean rooms and big buffets. I would expect better food from Sheraton and/or Greek operation, but somehow food was 2.5/5. Beach is windy, but OK, pools were full of people. If you like industrial beach resorts, this place might work for you, not for us.

It was an expensive trip I'm never sure what I expect from a five star hotel but we got it anyway, restaurants were pricey and it was cheaper to get a taxi into town and eat at one of the many tavernas, at one stage in the hotel I was given a ravioli that tasted great but cost the equivalent of nearly 1.5 euros a piece, it was very much the size of a starter presented as a main meal.
The first floor pool was very noisy the sixth floor much quieter and relaxing.
Great view from the window looking out onto the Aegean.
Wifi worked mostly the staff were very friendly and helpful and seemed to want to help, plenty to choose from at breakfast bar and lots of it. Again lots of staff buzzing around with coffee and juice .

Room Tip: Ask for as high a room as possible, reception is on the seventh floor we were on the fifth and the v...
