I would not suggest this hotel being 5 Star but rather a very good 4 star hotel. We went there for 4 nights and we were in mixed feelings before arriving after reading a few of the reviews here on Tripadvisor. But we arrived and everything went very smooth with check-in and we got our room very fast although it was a lot of guest coming at once.

We had half-pension and we dont really have any complaints about the meals. The breakfast had a good variety of food (a big buffé) and we decided to not eat the hotel every evening of own choice. They also had 2 resturants within the big resturant which one was asian and the other italian. We tried the asian and it was totally OK, not a wow experience but I wouldnt complain if this was food a would get on a mid-budget asian resturant.

They were 3 pools on the facility, one inside-pool, two outside. We decided to sit around the pool inside the hotel area. A lot of space for tanning although a lot of people (its by the way no the pool you see on most pictures, this one is actually more beautiful).

The rooms where also very nice with one big minus (and I guess the most important part), The bed was extremely hard and for thoose who like soft beds this is really not to prefer. But the room had a very nice little balcony where we could enjoy a glass of whine before we rounded up the evening with just a 3 minute walk to the casino in the area.

A few other minuses were that you need to give a security deposit on bath towels to the pool (something I am not familiar with). The elevators were terrible and didnt work most of the time (One worked but took extremely long time to arrive).

Its located in a great area, very close to the city centre and just a 15 minute walk from the Old Town where we spent most of the time. Nice staff who helped with the most.

All in all a good 4 Star Hotel that I can recommend most families and couples above 25+

Room Tip: We were under the impression that without "sea-view" we would get a bad view, but we actua...

The 2nd time of being in this hotel and every time we are statisfied more and more. The service of the reception staff is very professional, friendly looking . The location of this hotel is perfect- by the sea, close to minimarkets and pubs, casinos and resturants, and it feels safe to travel even at night. The rooms are very clean, very practical. The view from the room is AMAZING,and very quite. The breakfast and Dinner services were great. Iwish i could be there every year! :)

We spent a very enjoyable week in the Mitsis Grand. We stayed in April and it was obvious that the hotel had been refurbished over the winter, as everything was sparkling and in good working order. There was even a faint smell of paint on our balcony, as evidence that it had been recently improved.

There are three good swimming pools; two salty ones outside and a fresh water one inside. None of them are heated; they we're fine for us, but some people would find them on the cool side in April. The pool-side bar area was being renovated at the time of our stay, so I can't comment on that, but I'm sure it will be a welcome addition when finished. There is no playground in the hotel, which you might expect in a place of this size.

The buffet food was varied and plentiful. There were lots of choices of salad; meat on the griddle; soups; cheeses and cold-cuts; hot meat, fish and vegetable dishes; pancakes, ice cream, cakes and fruit. The only small issue I had with the food was that the 'hot food' dishes were not kept hot enough in the serving trays. There are two themed restaurants (Chinese and Italian) where you have to book your place the day before. We tried the Italian, but I wouldn't recommend it - the pasta dishes were not very exciting. We'd have been better off staying in the main restaurant.

There were two bars open; a fancy bar with live piano music and the more basically-decorated all-inclusive bar. There was a decent selection of drinks available at the all-inclusive bar; nothing branded but I didn't expected there to be. I had only searched for full board on the internet, so to get all-inclusive for the same price was a nice bonus. I had a small Tequila Sunrise addiction by the end of the week...

The staff were brilliant - polite and attentive. On one occasion a waitress noticed my wife was looking poorly, so made a special effort to go to the kitchen to fetch a pot of camomile tea. Every morning there was an army cleaning the hotel from top to bottom.

The location was perfect for what we wanted. It's next to a beach (not really pebbles or sandy, kind of inbetweeny) and there's another round five minutes away around the headland. This means that even if it's windy there's a good chance one of them will be sheltered. We could walk to the harbour, old town and bus station in half an hour with child in tow. So exploring was easy if we wanted to get out of the hotel for a few hours. The beach was not particularly clean, but as we were leaving for the airport there were tractors working on the next beach along. So I presume it would have been sorted the week after we left. The hotel is less than half an hour from the airport, but there was not much noise - one or two low-flying planes per day.

The organised trips hadn't started the week we stayed, which was a bit disappointing. However we caught a service bus to Lindos from Rhodes Town so there are other options out of season.

There was some noise one night from motorbikes racing about outside, and we had noisy kids running up the corridor on a couple of nights. The parents didn't seem to think there was a problem with kids disturbing people at midnight! We mentioned it to the staff and they said to just telephone reception if it was an ongoing problem and they'd send someone. We didn't need to as it never happened again.

There was a good mixture of nationalities in the hotel, with none dominating which made for a good atmosphere.

We got a last-minute deal on Teletext Holidays and paid just under £1,000 for three of us including Ryanair flights from England. This was a great price - I wouldn't feel hard done by if I'd paid double that for a week all-inclusive. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to any family.

This hotel was the cleanest and well kept hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. As for location situated within a 10 minute walk of the Old Rhodes Town made it an ideal base for exploring this ancient place. It may be old but it has been well maintained and it helped make the holiday a memorable one.

I stayed at this hotel in 2004 and 2008 on a family holiday, and I intend on going back with my partner in 2015.

I'll start with getting the cons out of the way first. This hotel is very dated as it was built in the 60's. Some views from certain rooms you will see a lot of air con units on roofs. cracks in the walls and ceilings. The rooms are pretty standard. The beds are pretty comfy but nothing amazing and like anywhere you will have the Germans laying towels on beds at 6am.

The pros.
The hotel itself is pretty big. Reception always looks amazing. Clean and well lit. the staff are ALL brilliant on both occasions. The room maids do a good job. We always had fresh towels and bedding daily.
The Food in the main restaurant is great. Its all giant buffet style and there is always something to choose from a big variety.
The location is one of the best parts. Your about 400 meters from Rhodes town and there's bars restaurants and shops literally around the corner of this hotel. There are 3 pools here 2 outdoor salt water and 1 indoor chlorine pool. all are well looked after.

In all I will go back this hotel due to its location. food and staff.

We have stayed at this hotel for a week with all inclusive basis. Initially we have booked a different hotel from Mitsis group, however, since its only the beginning of the season we were moved to Mitsis Grand Hotel, and I would say, I was very impressed.
The hotel is very nice and clean, great and helping staff. We had some issues with the room and they were efficiently fixed within a few minutes time.
Having travelled a lot in the past and stayed at various 4-5 star hotels, I can honestly say I have never had such nice food at a hotel! There was something for everyone and the variety of food was such that we could not resist but have a huge three-course meal everythime when going to the restaurant. The choice of drinks at all inclusive bar was reasonable as well and the barmen would be happy to make a cocktail for you that is not listed on the menu.
Room quality great, rooms cleaned daily and the room fridge was stocked up with water everyday.
Also, great location, just a few minutes from the city centre and you only need to cross the street to get to the beach.
We didn't use the gym as it was 9EUR for a single visit, quite expensive considering a lack of gym facilities with just a few treadmills and dumbbells.
All in all, I will definitely be coming back to this hotel in the future!

We had a lovely time. The staff were really accomodating - they especially kept the restaurant open as our flight came after it would have closed. The hotel was beautiful. There was free wi-fi in the lobby.

We had a premier room on the 3rd floor overlooking the sea. The beach was lovely.

We would definitely come back! Well done Mitsis
