“What a fantastic holiday!”
Reviewed 24 August 2013

I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Oceanis Hotel in Ixia, Rhodes. The hotel is situated in a perfect location; close to the beach and a range of bars and restaurants. Rhodes town is only a short bus journey away (2.20€), alternatively you can get their by taxi (8€).

The hotel itself is as good as it looks In the pictures; with the pool area being it's most attractive feature. The hotel provides ample sun beds around the pool, which makes a refreshing change.

We had a sea view room on the third floor and the views were absolutely stunning. I would definitely recommend getting a room on the front of the hotel. The room was extremely clean and comfortable.

The dining room provided a wide variety of meals, catering to everybody's taste. Most nights we opted to eat outside on the terrace and watch the sunset as we ate.

The thing that made our holiday so special was the hotel's animation team; Camilla, Lutia and Simba, who were absolutely out of this world. They provided every aspect of the hotel's entertainment and were fantastic. They absolutely made our holiday and are a credit to the hotel.

The only slightly negative thing I have to say about the hotel is about the All inclusive package. We found the all inclusive to be quite strict. For example, ice cream was only served between 3 and 4pm and only children were allowed it.

Apart from that however a truely magnificent hotel. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Room Tip: Definitely book a room with a sea view!

We stayed at the Oceanis the end of June after being moved with many others from Nautica Blue hotel,I always go on trip advisor before we book and had looked at lots of reviews for Nautica Blue before deciding to book to stay there, consequently we were very disappointed to be told we were moving to a hotel I had not looked at before leaving England!
However we were pleasantly surprised, our party of four adults had a great week here,we had a sea view and although the rooms needed updating they were clean, food was good, pool was lovely although they definitely need to invest in some new/extra beds, the reception team where helpful, entertainment not great but plenty of bars within walking distance.

We too were worried reading reviews before we arrived. We travelled as 2 families, 4 adults and 3 teenage girls. We arrived on the 28th July and stayed for 10 days. On arrival we were pleasantly greeted and encouraged to rush upstairs and grab something to eat before the restaurant closed. We did, and the staff were very welcoming considering they wanted to finish up. The rooms are very tired, but are cleaned daily with regular changes of towels and linen. I think it is luck as to which room you get, we all got a sea view which was beautiful, however our fridge didn't work and our teenager's air con didn't work brilliantly. My husband got up early to reserve sunbeds, about 7.30am the first time, and was surprised to find plenty of free ones (although most of them are broken and there isn't much shade....we do only lie on them)! The pool area is kept clean and we all loved the pools and they weren't too crowded. My brother-in-law who ventured down to the pool just before lunch also managed to get sunbeds. The food was varied and plentiful and typically what you expect from an all inclusive. The hotel was cleaned daily and the staff were mostly friendly, especially John the barman who manages to keep the queues down on his own serving in the only bar in the hotel. The road to the beach is busy, but of course you can cross it relatively quickley. Yes, the 3 steps are steep and knackered leading to the beach, just hold onto the hand rail. After a couple of metres of pebbles, it's sandy and the sea is choppy with a lovely breeze. We went to the water park, it was typical of most other parks we've been to all over Europe, but the girls said they thought it was one of the best. We visited Rhodes town for 10 euros each way, a taxi ordered from the hotel, it was lovely there. We hired a car and visited Lindos beach which was beautiful, and stopped at a few more beaches on the way back, finishing off with Faliraki in the evening. The animation team appeared to do a good job and tried hard to include everyone (they could do with investing in a new cd with different songs though)! All in all, we had enjoyable stay.

we arrived at this hotel on the 31st july for ten nights , the food was good the soft drinks were cheap cola water down orange lemonade they were all rubbish brought coke cola every day from the supermarket the barman was not that friendly we asked for ice on a lot of occasions he did not like that not many staff on there, the beer was the main one there every one seem to drink that the sunbeds were crap went down to the beach on the sun beds 4 euros each that was a lot better the staff in the restarurant were good.the cleaners were not that good had to go down to reception a couple of times no toilet rolls not enough clean towels the showers was crap had to tie carrier bags round it to keep the shower head, up the safe was three euros per day that came to thirty euros never had to pay for a safe before ,the animation team were good they seem to keep the hotel going the only thing was the bingo it was five euro for two strips the big prize for the house was between fifteen and twenty euros a cd and a t shirt you might as well keep your money and buy a t shirt for 15 euro after three nights you have paid for that they were nice shirts. I would not return to that hotel again very old fashioned really needs updating the only good review was the food

Oceanis Hotel-First impression is your average hotel when you first pull up outside but on entering there is a very nice relaxed atmosphere to greet you.
Check in was quick, friendly and efficient and when we got our first glimpse of the pool we were very impressed with the sea and beach just over the other side of the road.
Upon asking where our room was we were told on the back of the hotel and there is no view at all other than a close cliff face (although okay if you didn't like noise like some people have complained of in their reviews) but we upgraded for an extra approx £45 and got a room on the top floor in the middle of the hotel with excellent views of the pool, sea and mountains which we loved and watched the sun go down on many nights.
We loved the pleasant nature of the Greek people who worked at the hotel and they were always grateful of your politeness or wishing them a good morning ect.
Food if you like healthy eating you will have no problem with and we always enjoyed every meal and although we didn't have them chips were there at every meal time except breakfast(our daughter loved the chocolate pancakes)
Drink was okay but not very strong on the spirits but that's the same on All Inclusive holidays but the beer was very good and you poured your own day and night so this helped reduce the waiting time for drinks in the evening and thanks to the efficiency of the older bar man we never waited more than 10 minutes in a queue even at the busiest times and he worked flat out.
Best thing about the holiday though were the three girls doing the Animation (Lady )Da Da,Kamilla(we wanted to adopt her) and Lucie (Pink-look-alike).They were the nicest girls you could have met and just didn't stop smiling day or night and although have come in for a lot of criticism from other reviews I would say they were one of the best we have seen in our last 6 years of going all inclusive.
I think what people seem to forget is they are not on a big cruise ship where the budget for entertainment is high this is just 3 girls who work from 10 in the morning to about 1 am the following morning (by the time they have packed up their sound system and put all the chairs and tables back tidy)
My advise is to get involved even if your not very good at anything as most the games are just for a laugh and the purpose of this and the Animation team want you to do is get to meet new people and make friends and build a relationship with them and they get to know you by first name and come over and have a chat.
They do something for everyone -stretching,darts,table tennis, aqua aerobics, water volleyball and French bowls.I think most people who have given negative feed back to the Animation team probably haven't got involved in anything and I find it sad to see people walking round looking so miserable when they are on holiday.
Yes the evening shows are low budget but you cant help but to be impressed with the girls dancing and entertainment and they only have a sound system a few bingo cards and themselves but every night was entertaining and different with Karaoke, discos, quizzes and the not to be missed pool party(if you don't get in you wont enjoy it).
If you go to this hotel with a positive mind set and you get involved you will have a fantastic holiday like us but if your the sort to take pictures of loose skirting or a bug you caught in a glass then go self catering but please don't moan as this is a really great hotel.
We have never gone back to the same hotel twice but this one has been tempting but only if the same Animation team were there of course as they made our holiday.
Thanks to all at Oceanis and keep up the good work!

Myself,my husband and our 11 year old daughter Mollie returned home last night after a weeks stay at Hotel Oceanis,we had one of our best holidays ever here.We arrived 31st July and we upgraded for a room with a sea view on fifth floor the view was breathtaking it was very clean and comfortable clean towels and bed linen every day.The food was fantastic a very wide selection to cater for everyone at all mealtimes. The pool is amazing clean never struggled for a sunbed and outside eating areas clean and staff very friendly. But most of all the girls our adopted daughters for the week Dada,Kamilla and Lucie are fabulous so much enthusiasm to get everyone of all age groups involved in activties the girls multi task providing excellent shows in the evening speaking four or five different languges and are so friendly. At the end of our stay they stood on the steps and waved us off and we were so touched. The pool party on our last night rounded our holiday off.
