The hotel is ok, a bit dated and not exactly plush but for a 3 star its what you would expect. Rooms are basic but we found them comfortable enough and the hotel went quiet after 11pm so sleeping was never a problem. Food is fairly good and plentiful, as soon as breakfast is finished snacks are provided in the pool bar, same with lunch, we never went hungry. Beer is on tap, ok its only the local brew but refreshing enough, same with all other drinks and tea and coffee etc. The pool area is nice but the road noise can be a bit off putting so we used the quieter pool at the back where we always got sunbeds and plenty of shade available as it gets really hot here as there is no breeze from the sea. Sea view rooms are good as the sunsets are superb. Catch the local buses from the stop outside the hotel and visit Rhodes Town at night, the atmosphere is fantastic although bar prices here are high. We would not return here either to the hotel or Ixia as there is nothing attractive about the area and the beach is not particularly good but I love Rhodes Town and I have stayed at Kolymbia before which I preferred. Lindos is well worth a visit.

I had been to this hotel the last week in Oct 2007 & enjoyed my stay (although don't go to Rhodes in the last week as everything shuts after their holiday Monday). This time I visited with my husband & our stay was excellent. We let them know we were returning guests & were invited to a Gala dinner with the owner of the hotel. The food, wine champagne, liquors etc, at this dinner were lovely (well presented & very tasty). I have returned to hotels before & never had this sort of services & it was a pleasant change to find that your custom was appreciated. We found the food was general of good quality & there was a good variety of cooked breakfasts, cereal, cold meat cheese etc. Lunch was served at the pool area with a bbq nearly every day, as well as salad, pasta, hot dishes & fruit, cakes & ice cream. Dinner again included salads, cooked meat, fish, veg dishes etc. We enjoyed the beer, white wine & local spirits, but found the fizzy drinks a bit sweet & weak. We never had any problems getting a sun bed although it started to get really busy the last few days of our stay. The rooms were clean & comfortable & our sea view room was lovely looking out over both the pool & sea. The main selling points of this hotel were the staff (especially Spiros the restaurant manager, who couldn't have been more helpful & even managed to teach me some Greek!!). The entertainment staff tried very hard to get people involved, although we aren't really into games etc, but they were there for people who wanted to do this. Evening entertainment was quite poor, but we like to walk after dinner & try other bars so this didn't bother us too much. Of the entertainment staff we found Anya very friendly. She seem to really enjoy meeting guests & always spoke when she passed you. The reception staff too were very friendly & helpful. Rhodes old town was a great place to go either during the day or evening & we had trips to Lindos & Simi. A quick bus ride takes you into Rhodes town & there is a good service from the bus station to other towns. Taxi are good in that the price is displayed on boards at the taxi rank, so no nasty surprises & again we found the drivers very friendly. When I return to Rhodes I would go back to the Oceanis.

The hotel might have been a 4 star once, but is not anymore.

Reception and pool area seems to be renovated lately, but the rooms... shabby, worn down, time for renovation. Same with the bathroom. Room cleaning is perfect (for a 1EUR/day tip for the ladies).

Catering.... The biggest disappointment for a 4 star. We were on all inclusive (I guess everyone, tho there is some fancy ultra-all inclusive) All meals are buffet.
Breakfast is almost good. Coffe comes from the automat... some luke brownish fluid. And the same sort of automat is used all over the hotel.
Lunch. Well it works. Anyway in such heat you should not have a huge 5 course lunch. Sometimes queues build up as all the people sitting at the pool want to eat at once.
Dinner. Gaaaah. You would expect some dresscode for dinner. Some people follow 4 star, some wear stuff you wouldn't in the pub at the corner. Cutlery: self served, that's a pain. Drinks: self served - with some queues, with consumption restriction added -- small glasses, beer flowing damn slowly. That remembers me of the local 2 star cantine, definitely not 4 star.
The food quality is... there are things they do real well, mostly local dishes. Sometimes the cook seems to be sleeping, we got some almost raw potatoes and carrots.
Selection is OK, there is always some meat, fish, vegetarian. You find every day something, tho I wonder how the selection works if you stay 2 weeks. Salads are always the same, starters vary day by day.
Ice for lunch and dinner is the 5 liter a box serve yourself scoops sort. Maybe I won't buy such at home. Sweets are pudding and pudding, some cakes and fruits.
Waiters are kind though.

Pool is OK as it is. The sea is a few steps away (plus you got to wait for the traffic to pass the main street -- there is no underpass) take a dip whenever you want. The beach is pebble until you reach knee deep water, then it's sandy. It's like that on this side of the island. Windsurf station (surfersparadise) is also right on the opposite side of the street.
There are various water depths, 50cm area for kids, 1m for playing around, 1.5m for swimming, nothing for toddlers.

Excellent is the seaview, downside can be that the disco and entertainment (at least till 2300) is at the pools -- if you want to sleep well either book a garden (hill) view or accept only a room towards the airport (lower room numbers).

Transport: taxi: 8EUR to Rhodos city, 15EUR to airport, bus stop is at the next hotel, 2.10EUR per person one ride.

You decide, if the rate is around a 3 star, it might be worth booking it.
