We had a very nice week in Rhodos at the Amathus Beach Hotel. The service was excellent and the food perfect!
It was nice to have a breakfast outside on the top of the hotel watching the see.
there was enough pools to enjoy everyone! Kids, adults... Also an acces to the beach under the street!
All the personal was kind and very helpfull.

Stayed four days in Mid-October, right during the "mini tornado" refered to by others. Yes, it was quite a storm which seemed to hit right at this hotel, smashed a few cars and left all kinds of stuff, including chairs, umbrellas and tables broken and smashed into the swimming pools.

As other reviewers have commented, this is not a five-star hotel, but adequate when you get a decent price. And in Mid-October, the tourist season is almost over and somewhere around 60 euros per night including breakfast is an excellent price.

I had no problem with the hotel, except for the power outage which lasted the entire day after the storm hit in the morning, and a couple of more times after that. Beds are hard, though.

This was my first trip to Rhodes, have travelled to many tourist destinations in the world, and I cannot understand how anyone would like to go back to Ixia.... Ixia, a small town/village must be one of the most dull and boring places in the world. Total lack of everything except a number of same-kind bars/restaurants with cheap beer along the road with heavy traffic.

Beaches - rocks and full of trash. Shops - no. Nice restaurants - no. Cafes or restaurants with a view of the sea - no.

Rhodes town, with the old city had some charm, although it was invaded by tourists from the cruise ships. But Ixia, never again.

The hotel was great; the location is good and privet. We got a room with ocean view without additional charge.
The room was clean and comfortable, the shower was amazing!
Meals were peaty good, breakfast is the same every day though.
I do not recommend taking full board because there are great restaurants in the area so do not miss out.
The staff of the hotel was helpful and very nice as well.
Over all- we had great time!

Room Tip: try to get high floor for view

We stayed here for 10 nights from the 7th to the 17th of October , We did not expect 5 star and we did not pay 5 star prices so for the money we paid the hotel was ok its around a UK 3 star .
The all inclusive or PP as they call it would be better if they stopped using soda as the base in the mixers , the food is adequate but needs to be hotter . The dress code in the evening restaurant is a joke , they try to be a little more up market but the staff are not up to task (silver service they aren't ).The rooms are like a Premier inn, the hotel is clean but showing its age as are the grounds . Some staff work their socks off and are very pleasant others just turn up. The hotels official photos and videos show all this glitz and glamour. Sorry but its bordering of false advertising the hotel is nothing like what you see, if it was I would be on here singing its praises. If you get a good deal as we did for this hotel then you really cant complain but the difference in prices can be over a Thousand pound each so shop around.
One last thing this is to the Hotel its self on are last day the hotel was hit by a mini type tornado and smashed the place, I hope no one got hurt and the hotel got back on its feet quickly all the best Paul

Room Tip: try not to get a room on the ninth floor. try for level 5 6 7 8 front of hotel sea view

Ok......the hotel is not really a 5 star hotel, but the food, service & staff are fantastic. Rooms are lfine, beds really comfy and sea view wonderful. Stayed here on an all inclusive deal , the food was excellant always plenty of choice , the range of drinks avaliable also fab well worth the money.

The biggest asset to this hotel though is the staff, fantastic they could never do enough for you always smiling and happy to help.

Pools & areas lovely with plenty of sunbeds etc.

Only downside to our holiday was the behaviour of several other Nations, downright rude to both customers & staff also their scruffy attire in the restaurant at dinner ......... Sorry but shell suits & trainers totally unacceptable!

Would definatley stay here again especially out of season.

Room Tip: Sea view without a doubt, upgrade to a suite if you can afford to.

While the five star rating applies to the whole hotel, it would probably only be deserved by the so-called Elite Suites, a separate building on the same site. I didn't pay a five-star price however so I was perfectly content with the room I had in the primary building, beautifully tiled, air-conditioned, power-showered and balconied as I would have wanted.

The self-service breakfast range was excellent, and all dietary requirements - I have some complicated ones - could manage a tasty and nutritious start. As an example of the standard of service, on the first day I asked at breakfast if they had decaff coffee - the answer was no - but when back on the second day they had brought in a jar of instant decaff and the same staff member remembered me and offered it without me even having to ask.

A huge thunderstorm hit on the second day, bringing trees down on to cars, demolishing fences and scattering all the poolside equipment across the grounds and the road. The hotel's response was excellent, and by the end of the day everything was cleared, while other hotels in the same area were still getting to grips with the aftermath. Staff had to put up with some residents being very abusive - despite the weather being so obviously beyond their control - and deserve a lot of credit for continuing to be friendly and helpful under even that kind of pressure.

If there were any disappointments it was that the internal wi-fi just couldn't be relied on in my room (though it was fine in the lobby or outside), and some of the machines in the gym were broken, though there was at least one working of every type. The beach was the stone and dark brown sand sort rather than golden - but that is common to Rhodes. The dress code is referred to extensively in accompanying documentation but wasn't enforced in any way while I was there. Personally I welcome a less stuffy atmosphere, though if there is to be no dress code it would be better for it not to be put down on paper.

Already when you reach the hotel reception to get the room you have booked, you encountered in relation to insulting and belittling from hotel reception staff

They patronizing you and give you the feeling they do you a favor and give you the room for free
They do not respect their customers
Rooms at this hotel is very poor (apart from the mattress and pillows fairness)
Dining room manager (name Agalisias or Agalisios not remember exactly) human animal is an animal and shouting courteous and respectful His guests

I personally am going to file a lawsuit against them in court, for the insult disrespect and lack of consideration to what I paid
Very bad hotel food
Please note I was traveling in many countries and I only slept in 5 star hotel
This hotel define it 5 stars and my experience is not worth 3 stars

And once again I slept in many hotels such as the Hilton La Difons Paris, Mirdian Paris, White House London, Mirdian Amman, Five Seasons Amman, Rutana Micah Saudi Arabia, and a lot of countries such as Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria , Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Israel, and many countries and so I will announce to identify a good hotel or not

Dear Reviewer,

I read your comments with great concern, I was shocked to read that you were so dissatisfied with our hotel and services and you did not report it to anyone. I would have been more than glad to meet you and discuss your comments if I had the chance while you were here. I would appreciate if you could contact me to discuss your comments in detail.

Amathus Hotels are known for the high level of service and especially here in Rhodes we only receive positive comments for my colleagues. I would appreciate it if you could send me your name and dates of stay in order to investigate your claim in detail because I couldn't find a reservation with a name that matches your nickname on TripAdvisor. Because you posted a review for the Sheraton Hotel next door for the same dates I have checked if we had a guest that changed his/her reservation to Sheraton but again I couldn't find anything.

Regarding the name you mention in your review we do not have any colleague with such a name or a name to resemble this.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
Theofilos Lakkas
