Would definitely recommend this hotel. We stayed here on an all inclusive basis. Rooms spacious, clean and well appointed. Food very good and varied. Staff very friendly and attentive. Pools and leisure areas clean and well looked after. One suggestion for making things even better would be to disallow smoking in any eating areas, even if they are semi-outside.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view.

Very good hotel ! The food is very good and has a lot of variety. The staff is very friendly, always prepared to help you in many languages ! Very nice pools at different levels. Wonderful SPA ! Very good cocktails at different bars, especially the bar at the 11th floor is great. Stamatis is the friendliest and most professional barkeeper we ever met ! His cocktails are amazing !
We are definitely going back to this hotel.

Room Tip: The suites are top !

My partner and I traveled here on our first holiday together in September 2013 and we absolutely loved this place.

We arrived quite late at night and the reception team were incredibly friendly. We were taken straight to our room - clean, spacious enough, with a balcony that gave a fantastic view of the sea and a fruit basket as a welcome gift. No problems with the room - shower was very small but that was our only annoyance.

Hotel staff are for the most part very friendly and helpful. You have three large outdoor pools and one indoor pool to choose from - there were always loungers available and the bars were always well stocked - a great choice of cocktails, note that the cocktail choices on all-inclusive vary at each bar so check each one out!

There was always a huge food choice available, and a good selection of ice cream throughout the day. We only ever ate all-inclusive so cannot comment on the other restaurants but we felt the all-inclusive option was actually nice and varied enough anyway.

Pools were always very clean and tidy and the beach is a 2 minute walk (if that) and is private. It is pebble so do take good beach shoes! Sea water was nice and warm and the sunset is so incredibly beautiful, so spend your early evenings on the beach to watch it!

There is a spa, we didn't use it, but took a look round and it is very well kept. They have swim up 'Elite Suites' which look really great for families or couples who would like more privacy. There weren't many children when we went so I don't know how much of a choice it is for families but it is really great for adults.

We went with Thompson who provided a really lovely rep - we booked an excursion out to see The Acropolis of Lindos and Rhodes Old Town - highly recommend these, Lindos is an hour or so away but Rhodes Town is actually only 5 mins by taxi or 15 on the bus. We also visited Butterfly Valley, our taxi cost slightly more than it said at the hotel so worth just checking up on that if you are going anywhere.

Overall we had a really relaxing time here - the Singapore Sling is great, as is the pistachio ice cream and the baklava! We could have eaten them out of baklava. Wifi was available everywhere at no extra charge. There was a really nice dessert that we loved but had no idea what it was - when we returned to England we emailed management who gave us the recipe! Very helpful. We would absolutely go back - 100%.

Room Tip: I don't think you can get anything other than a sea view! :)

We had a lovely holiday last month and were very pleased with all aspects of the Amathus Beach Hotel. Our room was spacious with a sitting area and very quiet, it was lovely to sit on the balcony and look out to sea. We enjoyed the selection of food and drinks and as this was the first time for us to have All Inclusive we were very impressed.
The staff were all very friendly, especially ilaria who took the Yoga and Pilates classes. I would certainly recommend these classes which take place on the lawns on the beach - a perfect location with the blue sea helping you feel relaxed. Try it!!
The swimming pool was safe ideal for us. We had no problem getting a sun bed , but people were 'reserving' them by putting towels on them, which I find annoying. It would be a problem Peak Season, so it is something Management could look at.

We were 12 people and we checked in yesterday 28-07-2014 at 18:00, the receptionist is a very nice and lovely belgian lady "audrey" who speaks english and french...
The rooms were ready and a baby bed was added in our room for my 1 year old son...
The room is very clean.
Amenities are a bottle of water and small fruit basket containing two small oranges (spotted in black!), two apples and a kiwi.

Our room at the eighth have a nice mountain view that is veryyyyy close to the hotel, so for the people who are bothered from short range room view (let them take sea-view as it is much more beautiful).

There is plasma screen tv in the room but all channels are almost scrambled.

The bathroom in my room only, contained a bathtub (good to give the baby a shower) however the cabinet seat was broken.
There are bottles of shampoo and other bathroom amenities and clean towels available.

There are many pools and direct access to the beach for amathus.

There is a nice pool on the 11th floor, that i loved :)

The problem of the beach is that it is a gravel not sand beach, so it is not convenient for children ...

The pool servers are very nice and there are activities for the guests and the children...

The buffet is nice, there is a good variety that will please all the tastes.

Because it is my wedding anniversary the hotel management sent me a bottle of champagne with compliments :)

At night you should go at the bar in the 11th floor, it has a wonderfuuuuul view and the waitress are great :)

You can enjoy the same view in the morning during the breakfast ....

Finally, i loved it in general, you will always expect some inconveniences in touristic destination hotels, but it is definitely a hotel to recommend...

One last note, the hotel unfortunately is full of israelis and this is very annoying for a lebanese like me... Also and I dont understand why they get a special treatment by putting hebrew translation everywhere.

I got home very early yesterday morning and I am already desperate to get back on the plane! This hotel was everything we hoped it was going to be, my girlfriend and I were extremely happy with it and Rhodes itself was brilliant, the weather was perfect (mid 30's with a bit of a breeze - making it very easy to get a bit burnt though!!)

The Good -

All Inclusive, this was better than expected, the 3 meals a day were great and although there is only one choice of beer (local, draught, very nice though - think Kronenbourg and San Miguel) there were absolutely loads of spirits and cocktails on the AI menu. Including my favourite, an Old Fashioned. Sambucas are also included for those looking for an interesting night!

They were helpful, polite and they all spoke very good english. The rooms were changed regularly and the maids also spoke good english which made a nice change from most hotels.

The buffet was great with a good selection of food from hotdogs to greek kebabs - which were awesome.

The view from our sea view room on the 8th floor was amazing, but from the restaurant at dinner it was even better! Easily the best view I have ever had for a sunset.

There are 4 pools to choose from, we favoured the pool for adults only (although this was ignored once or twice...) as it was much, much quieter than the main pools, it was very easy to relax there. That was until we gave the spa pool a try, which was even better, although not solely for adults, it was quiet and the pool itself was just much nicer overall.

The Not so Good -

The service wasn't great. This has always been a gripe of mine, to be fair to the hotel it was only really the service in the restaurant that wasn't great. For example, at dinner most nights we would order drinks before getting up to get food, and most of the time our drinks arrived when we had almost finished eating. Not ideal. Bar service was good if you went to the bar for drinks, if you asked a waitress or waiter then they tended to take a lot longer.

It's a small point, and nothing to really moan about, but the lifts have a mind of their own and regularly skipped your floor completely after being called!

Not a bad thing, but it wasn't for me, all of the pools are pretty shallow, the deepest being 1.5m on the 11th Floor. I like a deep pool to relax in. They are also very, very cold up until around 1pm whilst the sun warms them up - no heating.

The beach is stoney, very little sand, which is annoying. But the sea is fairly warm and the Jet Ski's are great fun!!

Overall though, I had an absolutely brilliant week and would not hesitate to go back to this hotel, I would recommend it to anybody looking for a hotel anywhere in Greece.

Little tip - Go to Lindos. Beautiful place.

Room Tip: We had a sea view room on the 8th floor at first (824) which was brilliant. However we upgraded to o...

Just returned from a week's stay at the Amathus Beach with my husband and two sons. We arrived at 2.30 am and from the get go nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We had two sea view rooms on the 8th floor. The views were amazing, rooms large and very clean. The restaurants were well run and again the service from the staff was second to none. The al a carte restaurant on the 11th floor served an amazing 5 course dinner, which if you are all inclusive is free for one evening - it's a must! There is another restaurant on the ground floor where you pay a supplement per head, this is well worth a visit, especially the. BBQ night, wonderful food. The restaurant on the 10th floor is also v good with amazing views although the food is very much like the food served at lunch time.

The swimming pools were great and the poolside entertainment was brilliant. The evening entertainment was a bit poor but only really what is expected from holiday hotels. The Spa was truly amazing if not a bit expensive but so are all good Spas! I have been been really poorly so treated myself (or my husband did!) to a spa pedicure and body wrap, lovely.

We didn't explore Ixia at all but we did go into Rhodes old town three times, twice in the day and once at night and went on a lovely boat trip.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that fancies a bit of luxury and relaxation. Fantastic holiday, will be back in the future but we may try the Amathus Beach in Cyprus next!

Room Tip: High sea view rooms have wonderful views
