“"Very Friendly Staff"”
Reviewed 28 June 2011

Returned last week after a weeks stay at the Belvedere. The staff were very friendly especially the two waitresses just inside the restaurant. It was my husbands birthday while we were there. They found out and came to the table with a bottle of Champagne compliments of the hotel, and stood and sang Happy Birthday to him. It was a lovely surprise. Although our room could do with a lick of paint it was very clean. The maids came in every day tidied round and replaced the towels. We paid extra for a sea view room and it was well worth it. We sat on the balcony most nights looking out to sea. Lovely. I would certainly stay there again. Thank you Belverdere.

Room Tip: Book a seaview room

i foudn the Rhodos beach after ending up at a horrible hotel elsewhere in the town.

From the start the staff were helpful and friendly. I initially had a twin room over looking the beach with an excellent shower. I paid the extra for air-conditioning,but rapidly discovered there was an issue with it. Reception promptly sent up an engineer who recommended i changed rooms and I got moved within 15 minutes to a larger double room, also on the front.

It's basic, and not brand new, but clean, and nicely looked after. For the price - it was a bargain, and I'd stay there again in a heart beat.

Rhodes town itself was amazing, you're about 20 minutes away, which makes for a nice walk in the evening. my tip would be to not eat in the old town, but at the strip of restaurants by the casino, they are about half the price of the ones in the old town. Victoria's was especially good.

the pool is not terrible, it's okay and clean but fairly small, though there weren't that many people around it. It also can tend to be on the cold side.
The wireless was a bit difficult to connect to (extra charge) but think that may have been more my mobile device.

Breakfast is okay, basic selection of fruit, cooked, yoghurt, bread, cheese, meats etc, but there do seem to be a few ants in the restaurant.

All in all I was happy with the hotel, and thought it very friendly.

We stayed in the Belvedere for a week at the end of the season, and were well looked after. It was well worth paying for an upgraded room with balcony overlooking the sea and across to the Turkish mountains. We loved sitting there late into the evening. The room was comfortably furnished, and the bed comfortable. Food served in the restaurant was on a half-board basis, and although buffet, the menu was changed each day, and well supervised so that it was always fresh.
This hotel is on the edge of the town and offers a lovely walk along the promenade into the centre, and the Old Town and harbour.
Staff were very friendly, and the management on hand and helpful. WiFi is available for a small fee in the comfortable lounge area.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rhodos Beach Hotel - rooms basic but very clean and adequate. We would recommend paying extra for sea view - well worth it. Only complaint about the room would be the bed, which I found really hard - but I think that is because I am thin and my bones dug into the hard mattress! (My husband didn't have a problem with the bed!)
Nice reception/bar area/pool area and the staff were wonderful and very helpful - we would certainly return to this hotel.

On arriving, which was early hours in morning had to carry cases up flight of steps to reception with no help. Lobby/reception area is pleasant, corridors to rooms are dingy. Arrived in room 431 via lift, room smelt very musty (told of problem at reception and they dealt with it quickly). Rooms were as shown in brochure, pulled back the curtains expecting a glorious view but was very disappointed to find our view at the back of the hotel was awful, there is a tall imposing unfinished apartment block, a derelict building and a building site to look at and on one of the noisiest roads I have ever come across, I have lived on main roads all my life, but never heard noise like this and it was constant, night and day, motorcycles, quad bikes, cars, trains, buses rev up the hill and the noise is terrible, luckily I wear ear-plugs to sleep which help block out some of the noise, cos had to sleep with door open because I wasn't prepared to pay 6 euros a day for air-con! Also the bin men come in the middle of the night and you hear bottles crashing. AND low flying planes pass over the hotel frequently, not exactly the most relaxing place to stay. back to the room itself, which is ok, very clean, maid service was good, but the lights were far too dim at night when trying to get ready, couldn't see what we were doing. balcony is good if you get too hot, nice and breezy. The garden with the main swimming pool was far to windy to sit out comfortably, even though the garden has a wind break it is pretty non effective and it is breezy nearly all year round on this side of the island, we sat in the garden at the back, but again the noise of the road was very loud.
The food was good, but not brilliant, I stuck to hot food because there were flies on the cold food and I will not eat food that has had flies on it yuk! There was quite a good selection, but would have liked to see more traditional Greek food as well as German. They had Chinese one night and what i think was Italian on another night, the main problem with dinner was the dessert, basically just ice cream everyday, with jelly thrown in on two days, creme caramel on two days and tiny cakes on other days, not really any choice. The service in the restaurant was excellent, waitresses work hard to make you happy and are very friendly, as are all the staff, we found them very accommodating and friendly and everywhere was very clean, could not fault the staff or cleanliness. Overall our stay was good, but I felt let down my the view and the noise and I write this review to warn others that although the brochure shows the wonderful sea views and appears tranquil and next to a beach, which by the way is quite stony and is dirty, which is strange because the streets of Rhodes Town are very clean, but made me wonder do the throw it all on the beach??? The reality can be quite different if you get a room at the back of the hotel. I would not class this hotel as a four star. I will add photos later of view when I get my camera sorted out.

Room Tip: Demand a room with sea view when booking.

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Rhodo Beach, First impression when we got to our room (427) was that our requests had been granted, a high floor ant a sea view. We overlooked the Belvadere swimming pool which ar first we thought was ours till we went down to breakfast the next day and saw our pool, its quite small but lukily you can use the Belvaderes pool which is lovely. The sea view was very nice with the sun on the balcony in the evening so you can watch the sunsets. The room is very clean but could do with some extra storage such as a chest of drawers but we managed, as the wardrobe was ok. There is a fridge in the room which didn't make that much noise but no hairdryer. We did take our own kettle which we put in the wardrobe every day before we went out just incase they weren't happy about us having our own as you can rent them at reception for 7 euros a week. The breakfast was ok but it would have been better if there had been a toaster as often the bread was a bit stale. The beach is across the road and it costs 8 euros for 2 beds with lovey thick matresses and pillows and 1 umbrella. It is very stony towards the sea edge so you do need shoes to get into the sea. The Thai girls start about 9am selling massages and can be a bit annoying as there seem to be so many of them.
When you come out of the hotel, turn right and there is a super market which is slightly cheaper than the hotel one and next to that is a travel shop which also changes money. it is closed on Sundays. When you walk to the end go past the petrol station and take the left side of it and you will walk towards the restaurants. Ask Poppy at the reception who is very nice and she will give you a map. We tried several restaurants and our favourites were The Ancient Flame( had a mix grill for 2 at 21.Euros 50 and it was very good)and slightly opposite there was Jacks. Then more towards the harbour Scalini's where we met alot of Brits who ate there most nights as they knew the owners. Also went to Tamins which in no.1 restaurant on trip advisor and had a very nice meal and also met a very nice American couple. We did eat at the Belvadere hotel a few times as it is very good value at 10Euros each, apart from the Greek night when it is 15Euros but you do get a bigger selection ot food on that night.
Out of the 2 weeks we did have the odd rainy day but it soon cleared up, but as you are in Rhodes town at least you have some where to walk to if the weather isn't that good. All in all it was a very nice holiday but we have decided that Cyprus is the place for us,we only came back to Rhodes to compare it with Cyprus.

Not a 4* Hotel - more of a 3* quality you'd find in England.
However there was nothing wrong with the hotel itself if you accept it's a 3*
Hotel Staff very friendly, especially the bar staff
Good sized Pool and seating Area
Rooms Basic but comfortable
Generally quiet at night for street noise (but we were off peak season)
Breakfasts were OK, food in the evening varied from good to not so good

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view, not on the ground floor
