“in need of renovation, but lovely service.”
Reviewed 6 August 2012

Stayed with family in July 14-21. Good location, nice big pool and easy access to the beach. Excellent, helpful personnel. Good breakfast selection. Rooms a bit worn out, specially bathrooms need renovation. only 2 very small lifts, so difficult with luggage. Overall a good choice.

Room Tip: Ask for the seaview rooms from upper floors like 3--5.

My husband and I have just returned from a 5 week holiday in Northern France and Greece, ending our holiday at this hotel. We stayed at 3 star accommodation every night of our holiday and this is by far the worst hotel we stayed at. It is in a great position opposite the beach, close to shops, restaurants and the old town, but that is all it has to recommend it. The rooms were old, badly in need of refurbishment and not as clean as we would have liked. In addition, everything cost extra - safe, kettle and air conditionioning!!! The weather was very warm when we stayed there and impossible to sleep with the door closed (due to the noise from the highway outside) without paying the extra money to have the air conditioning. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

We used this hotel as our base and it fitted our needs perfectly. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is also a very clean hotel with an "army" of cleaners working away all morning. The beach gets sun from an hour after sunrise until sunset for the sun worshippers. It is only about 15 mins walk into the old and new town shops or 6 euros for a taxi that the reception order for you. The taxis take about 5 mins to arrive at the hotel. We were also only 22 euros to get a taxi to the airport from the hotel. The barman is an expert at cocktails and great fun. He is brilliant with children and makes them windmills to blow from the straws in the bar. He is also excellent at mixing good value cocktails. For those wanting 5 star quality pay more and go somewhere else. However if you want good value, perfect location, friendly staff, clean hotel, great breakfast and a great base for the old town stay here. Another plus is that it is round the corner from the number one rated restaurant in Rhodes Town.

We are a couple in our 40's and stayed here at the begining of May 2012. After reading reviews we were a little apprehensive. However we had a lovely time and would definately go back. Food is good 3star level equivalent to any spanish mainland full board hotel, plenty of choice and staff are the friendliest and most helpful we have ever encountered. We had a pool/sea view room which was fab. Decor is dated but the room was very clean, housekeeping staff in every day. The ground floor garden rooms are excellent if you have small children as the patios lead straight into a walled garden and a small shallow paddling pool . Location is at the end of the old town 'strip' quiet but easily accessible, Great sea views of Turkey, ten min walk along the front to main bars etc passed lots of small bars and shops, bus stop right outside, hotel staff very helpful for bus info. Walking up the hill at the back takes you to the old town (amazing) in just 10 mins. Prices within the hotel for drinks etc were on a par with those in bars outside. We found a carefour and Lidal near the ruins of the aincient tombs with excellent prices. The themed nights in hotel were great, Italian, Chinese and the fab fab fab Greek night. We would definately go again. Pearl Harbour bar (back of the Mitsis Grand Hotel) has great value happy hour 2 for 1 drinks, Andy the 24 hour pizza man is excellent value (street at the side of Mitsis Grand) and we loved the giros pitas from the 'Pita Man' in the old town by the entrance near the port- just 3Euros each!

Room Tip: We liked the pool/sea view, the sunsets were amazing. Garden views were quieter as hotel is on a ma...

Maybe some time (few years) ago this hotel was nice, but now it is not.
They close the pool at 18. There is no lifeguard and the pool is really tiny. No real pool bar at all. You can pay with your card only above 15 euro, c'mon i've seen things like that but not in a hotel but tiny all-in-one arab shops and never 15 euro, max 5.
If you go HB then you eat at the sister hotel "Belvedere" food is terrible. Entire Rhodes is terrible. Now i understand why they do hav their crisis. If the country is like their hotels and restaurants then i car really understand. Do not take the "sea view" room becaus eyou get the "crowdy higway" view too, it is hard to sleep because of the noise and the stench, old rusty broken diesel... blah.

This hotel is in a great location. Directly opposite the sea so the breeze keeps you cool when at the pool or beach ( stony beach). The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful and the hotel is spotless. You dont have the ususaul rush for sunbeds and theres always some free any time of day. The pool is small and peaceful to chill out at after a late night.
If you want loud music, pubs, dancing then 'bar' street is no more than a ten minute stroll along the shore front so easy to get back from at night. The Colorado bar has live bands every night which are great and then all along the strip you'll find disco bars and beautiful people having a great night.
If you want to avoid bar street walk 5 more minutes along the coast or cut up through the lovely little reataurants and gorgeous shops into the old town where you can eat on roof terraces, little garden restaurants, large cosmopolitan restaurants,,,so many to choose from with amazing food and customer servie to die for. People are so friendly nd polite.
The old town and harbour must be one of the most romantic places to go and walk around. You dont get hassled by shop owners so very chilled everywhere you go.
Back to the hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean.Air con is 6 euro a day. The supermarket is adjacent to the hotel. Balconies are children safe.oh , and you cant here noise from other rooms so you get to sleep !

Room Tip: I was told i wasnt getting a sea view but we got a room at the side of the hotel so we could see the...
