Noufara City Hotel
Ranked #116 of 126 Hotels in Rhodes Town
Reviewed 24 April 2013

I found this hotel last minute when I already was on Rhodes, and another (more expensive hotel) was disappointing. It was the very best decision to move to Noufara hotel; the hotel and people there made my holiday!
Don't go to Noufara Hotel if your main interest is to stay at a luxurious hotel. There are multiple more luxurious hotels in Rhodes town, however, they don't give you the feeling you're on Rhodes (i.e., you could find the exact same hotels in any country).
Do stay at Noufara Hotel, if you want to be as central to everything as possible, if you want to get an authentic feeling of the town, and if you value staying at a place where the people are incredibly friendly and helpful (e.g., the manager helped me with arranging a way to go to Turkey for a few days - even though that meant missing out on room bookings for a few days - after I had already given up on making this happen).
Staying here made me feel like I was living in Rhodes town for a week, rather than 'being a tourist'.

We stayed in this hotel 2 nights and I have to say it was great! I admit that I was bit afraid how the hotel will look like after I read past few reviews. So we were ready for the worst...but what a surprise! The rooms were bright, clean, with lovely balcony and chairs and little table, cleaners always done their job properly...first impression was very good!:)The breakfast fine too...so I don't really understand why people were complaining so much...ok, me and my friends were on low budget holiday so we were expecting rather low standard but this was really pleasant surprise! Oh, and the best of all is the location! It's just few minutes walk to all main sightseeing monuments! You can walk even to temple of Apolon-it took just about 25min!
My room had a street view and can't say it would be crowded there.
I would recommend this hotel to young group of people, may be families too but not with small kinds[there are quite a lot of steps in hotel which may cause a trouble for them]. It's really lovely, The receptionist sometimes were in little caffee [I guess she was doing two jobs in one go] which is connected to it but she spoke good english.
One more thing- air con is included!!!:)

This is the second time a have been to the Noufara Hotel in Rhodes Town, and certanly the last one. I had seen from the hotel pictures that the lobby, restaurat and reception were renovated, so I thought that the rooms had also been renovated because they needed complete renovation 10 years ago as I remember. But no, the rooms are really a joke. Believe me that not a single cent has been invested in these rooms in the last 25 years. The room and the bathroom were also dirty with a lot of dust. The sheets were also dirty, the towels very old and grey (I suppose they were white 10 years ago).
The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is the location, right in the middle of the most exclusive shopping part of the city, only a few minutes walk away from the Mandraki Harbour and the medieval fortress. The beach is 10 minutes away from the hotel, which is also convinient.
But even though it is a cheap two star hotel in Greece, it is not worth the money believe me, each time you enter your room your vacation on the beautiful island of Rhodes will be spoiled. Even the few hostels I was staying in in South America were 5 stars luxury compared to this hotel. I could come back every year to Rhodes, but this hotel will never see me again, not even if they would offer me a free stay.

My girlfriend booked this hotel as a package holliday and apparently this hotel is quite popular with groups. First impression when you arrive is not good, as the outside isn't the prettiest... inside lobby is fine, and also the bar downstairs is nice... Its a 2 stars hotel, simple and family run. Our room was small and basic, and it also had a small TV, a fridge and a balcony (with no particular view). Our room didn't have an air conditioning, just fan. However, the rooms with air conditioning looked much better and nicer (renovated?!?), so I would suggest to book one of those. Bathroom was clean enough, but very basic. Room was also cleaned every day.

Breakfast was served from 7:30 to 9:30, however we weren't really satisfied with the food (quite a limited choice, no fruits), so we treated ourselves in a nearby bar...Staff was also helpful and friendly.

Location of the hotel is good, however you may be disappointed if you want a hotel on the beach. Its in the middle of the commercial district, and sometimes its difficult to park a car (parking on the street is quite expensive, 1.20EUR). Old Rodos centre is close, so thats a definite plus. Proper beach is around 5-10 walk. There are lots of nice bars and places to go out just around the corner and thats certainly a bonus for somebody wanting to party... Busses for destinations around Rhodes are nearby, and commercial port is around 10 minutes of walk away...

Bottom line. What you pay for is what you get. This is a 2 star hotel, and don't expect too much. And its not any kind of romantic getaway. I would not recommend it to someone who wants to be right on the beach, but to someone who wants to sleep on a budget price, safe and in a convenient place. We had a car, so we hardly spend any time in the hotel, and that is why the hotel worked for us.
