“Authentic, quiet and great atmosphere”
Reviewed 5 September 2011

Me and my wife have stayed here for four days during our honeymoon, and we absolutely loved it. Anastasia is based in a spacious and pretty Italian mansion, in a quiet corner but very well located. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the breakfast is great. More important, however, is that the owners give a really nice personal touch to the place: they are not like this fake-friendly hotel staff, but 'real'/authentic and good persons. Mihalos with his witty 'Greek' sense of humour and his gentle and sweet wife Estefania. Their dedication to looking after their guests was apparent throughout our stay; during our departure, they even made a last minute effort to bring a forgotten pair of shoes to the harbour so we could make it on time for our ferry. All in all, we had a great time and can recommend this hotel to anybody going to Rhodes!.

The rooms are very clean and spacious, and

I spent 8 nights in the Hotel Anastasia in Rhodes town at the end of July 2011 and would thoroughly recommend this lovely hotel. It has a great location close to the new and old towns and is a charming hotel with wonderful hosts. I really loved my room with its high ceiling and old floor tiles and had a comfortable sleep there every night despite the high temperatures of July/ August. The hotel and its courtyard are both very well-maintained and I had a lovely breakfast each morning. This hotel is family run and, in my view, both Mihalis and Stefania work hard to provide a relaxing home to stay in while in Rhodes. They also provide good advice to help travellers get the most from Rhodes town and the island. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Hotel Anastasia and, if I return to Rhodes, will choose to stay there again.

The Anastasia is a beautifully kept hotel that is centrally located to everything a visitor to Rhodes Town would want to see. The room we stayed in was big with a lofty ceiling, good air conditioning, clean bathroom, and a nice little balcony perfect for drying clothes after a day spent at the city beach (a 5 to 10 minute walk away depending on what segment we visited). Breakfast was delicious and the hotel bar a great place to relax and chat. The best part was the owners, Mihalis and his lovely wife Stefania. They were so incredibly welcoming and more than happy to help direct us with any questions we had. Mihalis was so much fun to talk to and simply hang out with (he was more than happy to show us his off-road driving videos on the bar TV over a few drinks. What a riot!) We came to the Anastasia Hotel as traveling strangers but felt like we left as friends. A perfect experience.

Mikali and Steph are excellent hosts with very good local knowledge and advice. Mikali has a wonderful cheeky sense of humour and can direct you to the better restaurants... he is an absolute wealth of information on everything else too. New Zealanders and Australians will enjoy his sense of humour. The rooms are a good size and are very clean and fresh. The fittings are all in good conditon and everything works. These hotel owners take pride in their property and it shows with the beautiful gardens. Its an old Hotel so don't expect new and flashy. Its very good value for money, very clean, slighty quirky and we loved it!.

Dear Mihalis & Stefania, we think we were so lucky to find your beautiful guest house! It is a lovely building with alot of character. I loved the clean and airy rooms and eating breakfast outdoors with your turtles as company. The location was excellent and walking distance to the old medieval city. Mihalis, thanks for your travel recommendations and also for relentlessly making fun of me over the breakfast table :) We highly recommend your guest house. Thanks and best wishes, Stefanie & Paul.

We stayed here for 1 night after 3 night in Lindos. We caught the bus from Lindos and walked to the hotel -about 10 minutes from the bus station. The hotel is in a great location, just 5 minutes walk to one of the nicest enterences to the old town.

The 4 of us stayed in a large room with a queen bed, a sigle bed and an extra bed. The beds were comfotable and the room had high ceilings and lovely windows with shutters. It was slightly back from the street and quiet. The air conditioning worked well. The bathroom was very small but functional. The breakfast was fine.

The manager has quite a dry approach and seems unfreindly but was very helpful. There was a taxi strike and he ended up driving us to the port.

We paid 88 euro for the 4 of us in July.

I think the hotel is fine for a couple of nights.
