We visited Rhodes in September 2012 and had a great time.

I'll address a couple of the issues other reviewers picked up on.

Great value for money. I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers were thinking when they paid next to nothing for 2 to 3 star accommodation and then essentially criticised it for not being 5*. This is good basic accommodation with decent facilities and friendly people.

George seems to work very hard hence he can seem a little brusque at times. He was extremely helpful with regards to helping us plan our day trips. We hired a car for the week and travelled all over the island with George’s guidance.

With regards to the cats, don’t go to Rhodes, or Greece or many other beautiful places if you think seeing a cat in less than British tip-top condition will offend you. Yes there are lots of cats and yes Greece needs a national neutering programme – but I should imagine this is the last thing on their list of things to do right now.

We visited many beaches, which you will find deserted at this time of year, Rhodes Town, the Bee Museum (well worth a visit!), Kallithea….amongst other places.

For an excellent local restaurant take a left on the main road and either the first or second left again. Walk down the lane even though it looks dark and empty. You’ll find it on a corner on the left hand side.

Great holiday, great accommodation.

The hotel is located very conveniently for both Ixia and Rhodes Town. From the airport, out driver managed to find the correct road for the hotel, but took him a few minutes to find the right hotel in the dark! The little ParaSun sign at the entrance may have been too small.
It's only a short walk of about 10 minutes to the main centre of Ixia - which has tonnes of restaurants and bars! And also only 10 minutes to the beach. It's also only a 20 minute (and ~€2) bus journey to Rhodes Town. The hotel's pool was very beautiful, and we spent most of our time sat around it!
The hotel seems to be run by a small family, who all seemed very friendly and made our stay enjoyable wherever possible. The pool-side bar served very nice drinks all day, however I would recommend against the food... Not very tasty! There is a large supermarket 2 minutes away, with a brilliant array of fresh food, including a bakery.
I do agree with some of the other reviews, that you get what you pay for, but in this case the hotel is exceptional value for money. The only thing I might have expected was air conditioning... But this wasn't really an issue - the room was breezy and we bought a fan from the local supermarket for €12 for at night.

Room Tip: There's three different blocks of rooms, two blocks surround the pool and the other is a little...

I went with my girlfriend during the Summer 2012 after a bad start to 2012, and found this to be the perfect place to relax. It is small and intimate.

If you are after luxury, top notch dining and high end facilities then pay more and go somewhere else. However, if you want a decent, friendly and happy place to stay, relax and use as a base for exploring the island, and don't want to pay through the nose, this is the perfect place.

Paras is a great hostess - a true family matron, full of local advice and very caring, and happy to share the fruit that grows on site. George (Paras's son) is an amazing guy, and top notch barman - happy to engage in a bit of friendly banter - his cocktails have to be tried to be believed (we worked our way through the list twice!) And of course, the on site cats are so cute!

Most of the negative comments I've seen against this place apply to any Greek/Med studio I've stayed in - no paper down the toilet, the bathroom is a wet room, solar heated water, limited cooking facilities etc. Like I've already said, if you want more, pay for more, and go elsewhere.

The site is well located too - easy reach of the beach, not too far from local tavernas and bars, very close to the local supermarket, and close to a bus stop. We spent a few days exploring Rhodes town (the place/shops has got a lot more pushy in the last few years) and the coast, all good fun!

We have stayed at the resort previously but unable to book our usual accomodation booked a holiday at the Parasun Studios.Having read the mixed reviews I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived on the 26th Sept for a two week stay. We were given an upstairs room as requested and found it to be a decent size with reasonable shower room. In contrast to some reviewees we found the beds comfortable although could have done with a second pillow, however we didn't ask for one so don't know if there would have been one available. It was still warm at night but what kept us awake was dogs barking close by. The cockerels crowing kept my husband awake but I didn't mind those.
Linen was changed and room cleaned twice a week whilst we were there. There is a note displayed in the reception area telling you that you are expected to buy toilet rolls and to dispose of their own rubbish,- I wonder how many bother to read it. Toilet rolls are cheap and the bin just at the entrance to the apartments, so not far to carry your rubbish. Kitchen area was basic with just the two rings for cooking but pretty usual for basic Greek apartments. Who wants to do much cooking on holiday anyway! We were missing a corkscrew which was cheerfully supplied by Georges. Who incidentally was friendly to all - not just teenage girls!
The pool was a good size with plenty of sunbeds - some guests bought airbeds for added comfort - a suggestion maybe?
We found Paris and her sons, especially Georges (didn't see so much of Alex) friendly and helpful and loved the samples of cauliflower fritters, fresh grapes, pomegranate and walnuts. And no, we didn't spend hours at the bar. Maybe a drink or two before going out in the evenings.
As commented by others, the pebbled beach is 10mins walk across a busy road as are the majority of tavernas - Zorba's was one of our favourites.
All in all we really enjoyed our holiday and would recommend Parasun as a cheap and cheerful place to stay.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms are probably cooler with roomy balconies and lovely views. Cats sometimes enter the g...

Apartment was very dirty, crockery not clean, shower area revolting - curtain does not meet the floor so everything soaked when showering. Floor not swept from beginning of week til we left. No entertainment whatsoever the week I went in august. No air con except in ONE room which I could not have. Owners are take it or leave it type people which is fine cos it's a budget place but certainly would not have spent money in their un airconditioned bar when lots more places to go nearby. The resort was very dull, little to do unless willing to travel to the other side of the island which is much much nicer.
Pervy George extremely off putting - don't take your teenage daughters!

Room Tip: Ask for Room 1. It's the only one with air con.

Just got back from a week at Parasun Studios and found that they were exactly as expected from a 2 star. Apartment was quite big for two people, beds were uncomfortable but it was the heat that kept me awake, the room got really hot with no aircon available. We got one change of towels all week but no clean bed linen, not good when it was so hot at night. The sheets weren't that clean to start with, my husband found hairs in his, but as we arrived at 4am there was no one around to get them changed. There was no hot water on a morning so had to get used to cold showers every morning but plenty of hot water in the evening. Kitchen area not very clean and only two rings but we didn't intend to eat in anyway. Try Whispers restaurant nearby, just past bus stop to Rhodes town, it is really clean the owners are very friendly and the food is marvellous. Debby's bar also good place to go for snacks and drinks. Never tried the food at Parasun so can't comment on that. Didn't find Paras as friendly as others have made out, not like all the other Greek people we met who are very friendly indeed, maybe because we didn't spend much time in the bar, I don't know. The pool area is very nice lots of sun loungers although they are also uncomfortable, there were only 4 mattresses for the loungers and the regulars got those every day, no one else got a look in but it is quite a large pool for just 21 rooms. We had a ground floor room with a patio that got the sun all day it was overlooking the gardens and very pleasant.
Overall we had a great holiday, for the price we paid wasn't expecting too much from the accommodation. One thing to point out though there is lot of noise from dogs and cockerels during the night, fortunately we took earplugs so didn't bother us but other guests told us they had a few sleepless nights.

I stayed here for a week and arrived 12tth september, i must say i was a bit nervous of staying here due to some of the reviews but this place is perfect , small , quiet , clean and a perfect place for relaxation. goerge and paris and family are no short of brilliant , and will do anything for you , food and drinks are very reasonably priced, and the apartments are spotless. the pool area is fantastic , and is set in such beautiful surroundings , for a relaxing break i cant think of anywhere better and i will be returning next year. the cooking facilities in the studios consist of two rings , pretty basic , but hey thats greece, and food and drink out and about is cheap so why would you want to cook, again overall this little place is fantastic and would reccomend to anyone , see you all next year .

Room Tip: all rooms have a pool view so you really cant go wrong.
