The Throne of Helios is an amusing and educational 20 minutes film that presents the history of Rhodes, combining Greek mythology and historical events in a most fun way. The film is very well made and it will help visitors to get acquainted and better understand many of the monuments, sights and attractions around the island of Rhodes, so I would recommend having this at the beginning of your holiday. Tickets are not expensive. The price of a regular adult ticket was €10 and for a discounted price of €13 you could also experience a second 8 minutes film featuring an ancient chariot race. We visited in late September, which is low season, and, as a result, there was no waiting line. However reservations and pre-booking is available through their website.

Very well done short presentation on the history of Rhodes. Worth going to if you have a spare 1/2 hours. Informative exhibition to look at while waiting for the film.

Has all the typical 3d + tricks - spears heading towards you, water sprays and air pipes at your legs simulating travelling through trees

Stay on for the race film after -it's about 5 minutes and a lot of fun

A "9D" experience. Quite a lot of fun, just the right length and a good start for a visit to the Old Town. Staff a bit brusque.

I experienced the Throne of Helios on my own whilst visiting Rhodes town on my holiday from Kallithea. Despite the posters and build up displayed around the town I wasn't expecting anything too dramatic, maybe just a 3D screening. After taking my seat and being strapped in, the show started. It was fairly informative and pretty dramatic. There were fans, water spray, things coming out from under the seat and moving chairs all designed to add to the effect. Over all I'd say it was good, certainly worth seeing. Could have been slightly longer maybe.

The video is very informative on the history of Rhodes, and the effects are fun. The animated race is more active and effective. It's a fun activity to do in Rhodes, and you can have Starbucks Coffee afterwards since it is right beside it ;)
