The wind can blow away your hat but is is worth every penny. The icons are wonderful, the statues in marble are from Greek period, the wonderful mosaics are from the island of Kos and are unique and can be compared only with the exhibition in Tunis and the part of the museum dedicated to the crusaders is charming. The whole atmosphere is something you do not forget. Taking pictures is allowed.

I was lucky to have 7 days to explore Rhodes town in all its details but if pressed for time go for this museum open most days from 9AM TO 8PM(9-20.00)
Entrance is around 4-6 euro and you must ask permission to make photo,s of the antique objects.
The 15th century hospital palace and gardens are a great backdrop for the spectacular ancient art.
Also a wonderful place to relax in the shady gardens and have a snack and drink at the garden cafe-restaurant.

This museum is absolutely well done. Visitor need to take their time and read about the different periods. I have found very easy to circulate along the different periods in order. The new collection is a real treasure, magnificent pieces of jewellery in gold, glass and stones. The explanations are brilliant. The brochure in english could be a bit more descriptive but it does not really affect the visit. I 've stayed about two good hours, enjoyed the gardens, sculpture, mosaics and different remains. overall it is worth the visit (6 euros). Photography are allowed everywhere except new collection.
The cafe on the middle is very nice.
