We visited as part of a holiday in Rhodes and it was a pleasant surprise. As well as explaining the history and archaeology of the island, the museum houses and excellent display of artefacts excavated on the island including beautiful statues of Aphrodite . There is also and outside area up some stairs where there is a garden displaying statues. We stayed in the museum for about 2 1/2 hour’s, there was a lot to see.

we spent out last day in Rhodes visiting the 2 wonderful museums, in original old stone buildings within the Old Town - the temperature was 30 degrees outside, but these collections, mostly ceramics from up to 5000 BC, were beautifully displayed in stone rooms kept air-conditioned.

Fantastic museun with many things to see... i spent a lot of hours there and i loved it! But one hick up is the garden that could be really pretty if it was trimmed!! It was full with green plants etc that shouldnt be there because it wasent cleared out, thats a real pitty... hope it will look much better next time when i come!

A fabulous old structure with so much history. It’s been well maintained and is a great tourist attraction which is good value for money on its entrance fee.

There are alot of very nice pieces in this museum. And they cover a wide range of years - arranged nicely and labeled. The only thing that would improve the visit is for the displays to be arranged chronologically so that it is possible to walk through history - but nonetheless - vastly superior to the palace!!
