This hotel, located near the Palace of the Grand Masters, in the ancient medieval city of Rhodes is a nice small boutique hotel. The staff is friendly, very helpful and the food exquisite. Definitely a great place to stay and explore the old city.

Stunning location and romantic ambient in the middle of the old town where you can still feel the knights' presence around at just few feet far from the Grand Master Palace. Beautiful breakfast served by the sweet family business members who are doing their best to make the Avalon experience pleasant, professional and "greekly" unforgetable. A unique staying that everybody has to try at least once (even if we are sure you'll be back here after the first time). Angela and I will be back here very soon!!!

We stayed at Avalon boutique hotel for three nights. The location is excellent, in the old city and easy to find- 10 mins walk from the port. We stayed in room "Mythos". My husband got sick on our last day so we had to stay in the room most of the time. Then i realized we did a good thing choosing this hotel. It is peaceful, the room has plenty of space and tastefully decorated .there is a sitting area and bathroom is large. Breakfast was good. They recommended a very nice restaurant- most of them were closed since it was november. I highly recommend this place who is looking for peace, quality and very good service.

This was the first place we stayed on a one month trip to Greece and it was perfect start to a wonderful trip. We stayed five days. The staff was incredible. They recommended great restaurants, best place to go and other hotels to stay at during our travels. Right in the old city, you can walk to almost everywhere you will want to stay/

Immaculate room, wonderful courtyard, great breakfasts, fabulous location - this hotel was perfect. It only has six rooms so it is a perfect size and it is located right off the Street of the Knights. Sophie was very knowledgable and offered some great recommendations. Beds were a little hard, but they all are in Europe.

Checking in late they had remembered we were there for our honeymoon and brought fresh water melon and a bottle of wine. Breakfasts simple, but generous, our order delivered to the room or eaten in the sheltered courtyard. Huge rooms / suites, beautifully refurbished, good bathroom, cool rooms with aircon and a lounge / sitting area.
In the heart of the Old Town, the sights are minutes away, with a huge choice of restaurants for lunch and dinner, and just about everything in between. The Avalon will cook for you on request, though with so many alternatives so close by, we didn't try this ourselves.
I'm sure some guests used to the style of large hotel chains may miss some facilities and might think it expensive (no swimming pool / spa / huge restaurants / buffets etc) but this was everything a hotel ought to be - and they were genuinely pleased to have had us to stay. We'll be going back for an anniversary present to ourselves soon!!

My husband and I spent four nights at Avalon last month. We stayed in the Anatoli suite. We enjoyed the roomy suite and the beautiful terrace surrounded by blossoms, just footsteps off of the famous street of knights. Avalon is peaceful and quiet in contrast to much of the old town area. Service at Avalon was excellent, as was the food. We had a home-cooked meal, available upon request, on our last night there. Delicious!

My only caution is that Rhodes is extremely hot in the summer months, and I found myself wishing we'd stayed somewhere with a pool. While we did take in swimming at St. Paul's Cove (a MUST if you go to Lindos), it would have been great to take a dip after a long, hot day. If you are going to Rhodes in the winter, spring or fall, or specifically want to be near the old town, Avalon is definitely the place to stay.

If you stay in the old town you must have dinner at Mandala. I think it was our favorite restaurant in all of Greece. We actually went back a second time - something we never do when we travel. It has an open kitchen and great casual atmosphere and most of all delicious food.
