Finding your own way to the hotel without gps can be tricky, as there was no street signs to this hotel in the lalysos area (or at least i could not see it afterdark), so all we did was to ask directions, Good to know People in greece are friendly and helpful.

The area in the evening is not for children, as its more to nightlife, pubs and cafes. Its hard to find a "children friendly" place to have dinner in the neighborhood. But at least all the restaurants, souvenir shops are within walking distance from the hotel.

Blue horizon has a great pool and garden, unfortunately the beach is not fun for kids to play around, cause its rocky. If your main purpose is to sunbathing, the hotel is a good choice for you as its has a private beach.  But if you are not into it, i would suggest you jump to the pool instead. My daugther prefered to play in the pool instead for 3hours. There are activities going on in the pool area such yoga, pool volleyball, and it was just great.

The room was good, we got a corner room facing the beach, and it has an L-shape balcony with good view. Sea view right Corner room at the 4th floor is probably the best. Unfortunately the room has a very small bathroom, and the air conditioner were not strong enough to beat the 40c heat from the outside.

Neither free wi-fi nor free internet pc were available in this hotel. Breakfast was a disaster, during summer where hotel is most likely to be fully booked, you cant hardly find a table to sit after 9am. And the variety of food need very much improvement.

This hotel is a solid 3 star - not a 4 star as stated. It was however clean, comfortable, had a good range of facilities and all the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Our main gripe was that it had been marketed as near to the local Kitesurfing centre but was actually a 10 min., 12 euro taxi ride each way. The other annoying thing was the constant, Eurotrash music that was constantly pumped out next to the pool. I had to ask the staff to turn it down (which they didn't), as not only was it too loud but was only very inappropriate due to the constant swearing. Maybe a 'lost in translation' thing as most of it was in English. Still - parents beware!

This hotel is ideal for families with kids and more mature couples but if you want luxury or glamour, perhaps choose a hotel in Rhodes town.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view or choose a bungalow.
