“Great place for holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2013

We have stayed there for two weeks and we had a great experience with the hotel and the service provided by Blue Horizon. We have stayed in the bungalow which was cleaned every day, the towels were also changed every day. If someone needs bigger choice of food we recommend the restaurants just cross the road with a fantastic menu.
The staff was very friendly and we ate the best Nuttela crepes from the beach bar
There is a great amount of entertainment everyday for children and adults.
We recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a good hotel with a fantastic beach and it's worth visiting the Blue Horizon

I have to say I am shocked at the last few reviews. Me and my boyfriend are in our 20's and went for our first holiday away together and found the hotel a lovely place to stay! The rooms were cleaned to a brilliant standard with clean towels everyday and the cleaners were very friendly. The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly and really helped us with bus times, places to visited etc! The restaurant staff were very polite, yes they were very busy but would at least acknowledge you as you sat down and came to you as soon as they could, the one waiter had a laugh and a joke with us every morning! The bar staff in the hotel and in the cafe by the pool was lovely. For a 4* hotel in Greece we would say everything was at least satisfactory, at the end of the day yes you could hear the planes but then again we didn't go to bed a 9 o'clock at night, and to be honest it was quite satisfying watching the planes fly so closely overhead whilst sunbathing on the beach! Do research about the windsurfing before you go as we found accessibility to wind surfing more than acceptable. Every hotel I've ever been to before I have had to purchase water, you was able to buy from the bar and from the 3 supermarkets that were 50yards from the hotel, seriously what more do you want? Also room had a working refrigerator so perfect cooling device is it not!? The directions the reception staff gave us to our room was bang on. Lovely place to stay and would defiantly go back and would recommend it to anyone! I'm really not sure what people expect in a budget holiday? If you aren't happy forking out £800pp for the luxuries then I am afraid you are going to have to do a bit of self catering for yourself! Please don't be put off by bad reviews, we are definitely going to be returning!

Room Tip: We chose bungalow garden view, would definitely recommend bungalow beach view rooms, great positioni...

Like the previous reviewer, we too arrived to find that the hotel was overbooked and we had to stay across the road for one night. Hotel is very tired and the carpets in our hallway (on the 1st floor) were very worn out and appeared dirty although the room was clean. The seaview room is the best option from what we saw. Two single beds pushed together should not be sold as a 'queen'. Plane noise was an unexpected bonus! It is not a 4 star hotel.

Internet is outrageously expensive for this day and age and was unreliable. Staff were overstretched, uninterested and at times rude.

The worse aspect is the food, it is not a restaurant but a cafeteria with bain marie food, salad and dessert stations.

Windsurfing centre was good, it is a good location but terribly let down by the hotel.

The hotel has a good location and decent amenities. That would be all its advantages. Since our arrival everything went wrong. First of all, due to the hotel booking manager who did the overbooking, there were no rooms available and we had to spend 4 days in a different hotel. The waiters are very unfriendly (because many of them were fired lately and the rest have to work all week long like the slaves). The food itself is not bad but a bit unvarying.
The hotel is located under the landing pathway of the Rhodes airport, so you see the landing airplanes like 200 meters from your window and you can hear them even at night.
The wi-fi costs like hell (10 Euros per day), the sunbeds are 3 euros per person per day, no free water anywhere (no coolers or bottles in the room) - we had to buy it every time either from the restaurant or from the shops next door.
We came especially for the windsurfing. Turns out, there is only one surfing station which is a bit disorganised and not that client-oriented either. The prices are also quite high.

Room Tip: a sea-view room would be the best option to outweigh the disadvantages of the service

this is a lovely hotel, lovely setting ,pool and gardens right on the beach with bungalows or rooms, food is good ,bacon every day for breakfast unlike some hotels,no complaints something for everyone.we had a roadside room, which we liked as we got the sun from morning till evening, and we still had a sea, view looking down the road, it was not noisey at night as some might think and we would book the same room next time as you could see something going on.rooms cleaned every day with clean towels and bedding change daily, staff all friendley, bar lovely and good exchange rate for a hotel, good location, taxi from airport 14 euro.will be back again next time.

Loved every minute of our time here. Nothing to complain about at all.It isnt a 4 star really, but near enough. Bar, pool, restaurantall suitable for us.The places outside of the hotel give lots of bars and restaurants all serving excellent food. Great weather, not a cloud in the sky.Cant wait to go back next year. Started our holiday fund already.

Room Tip: ASk for a pool view room or a front room. not a bungalow.
