“Revisit to apartments.”
Reviewed 30 May 2013

We decided to go back to the paleos apartments which we visited last year ( 2012 ) we found that our apartment was better than last year fully refurbished with a nicer bathroom and shower, new kitchen units and television, although we could only get one channel in english which was the world service from the BBC.
The family atmosphere was still there, as friendly as ever with nice greek food and good service, we have recomended the place to several friends who like friendly peacefull holidays.

Room Tip: the first floor rooms we found were quieter and had a good view from the rear terrace.

We loved staying with this charming Greek family and we look forward to going again. This was our first visit to Rhodes, and we were delighted to have found this lovely small family run hotel. The family were warm and friendly, we were made to feel at home, nothing was too much to make our stay enjoyable.
The rooms were very big, and very clean. The towels, were changed everyday, and the sheets were changed several times during our 10 days. The shower was fab, bathroom very clean. The evening meals were good, and always with authentic little extras from Moma. It was much more than we expected from a three star hotel..

The nearby shops meant we could choose to eat in or out. The bakers supplied a selection of breads, but do go early. The small grocers and mini market had all the things that you expect to buy,so don't worry about packing everything.

The beach was five minutes walk from the hotel, it is a shingle beach, it was good to have the choice of the beach or pool. On this side of the island with the Aegean Sea meant that there was always a soft breeze, it made a very pleasant in the sun. We discovered on our trips along the east side of the island that the Mediterranean was calmer water but a much hotter place to be,- too hot to walk on the beach. We took some trips from Rhodes Town, one was a boat trip to Lindos, it really was well worth it. We congratulated ourselves on only booking a one way boat trip and came back by air conditioned coach to Rhodes Town.

We found travel cheap and very easy, bus drivers were friendly patient with people. On the west side of the island you buy your bus tickets in advance, at the hotel, the shop across the road, the bakers, lots of places. You buy before you travel. There is a stop immediately outside the hotel. €2.20 to Rhodes. If you want to pick up a bus (coach) for travel along the west side, you simply get off at the terminal stop in Rhodes and walk down the road 10 metres to east side buses. You pay on the coach on the east side.

ThePaleos apartments are run by the very wecoming Paleos family. They are large apartments with everything you need and if not you only had to ask & they would do their best to find it for you, from wine glasses to teapots all could be found for us. There are huge comfortable double beds ,modern bathroom complete with hairdryer, kitchen with double sink, 2 ring hob & new fridge/freezer (delivered while we were there). Flyscreens to all opening windows & veranda doors and shutters to keep the rooms darker at night.
Outside there is a fantastic pool with kiddies section and loads of sunbeds, kiddies play ground, great poolside bar & for the evenings there is a tavern/bar at the front of the apartments.
They are about 5K away from Rhodes town but the bus stops right outside the apartments & the fares are cheap.
If you are eating out try Antonis Taverna, fantastic rabbit stifado, (turn right out of apartments)
in Rhodes old town go to restaurant Vasilis in Sofocleous area of old town and for some real greek hospitality Kostas in Ialysos is a must, he makes you feel very special & his food is excellent.

Stayed at these apartments for the last 3 years. The apartments are privately owned by the Paleos family. All of them are very helpful, welcoming and always smiling. It is very good energy here. The apartments are always clean and there are plenty sunbeds around the pool. It is a short walk into Trianda to the bars and restaurants. However, you can get excellent home made food at the Paleos and stay at their small hotel bar in the evenings to enjoy your cocktail before the bed or trip to the restaurant. All in all it is a great place to stay and definitely best value for a money.

Recently we spent week in Rhodes and stayed in Paleos. From first minute we received really good and professional service. Room was ready and waiting for us and even if it was night time Giannis (Bartender) was able to arrange food for us. Room very spacious and extremly clean, with good size bathroom. Plenty of furniture and bed was one of the comfiest I ever slept on. Food from Mamma was delecious, Yannis with his person was really top entertainment, always ready to help with information and we never had to wait long for anything. Pool area very tidy with plenty of space. Rhodes old town was 20 minutes by bus which we got from bus stop 100 meters away from the hotel. Hotel also is ready to rent a car or arrange trips. Thanks to the quality food, great service and good facilities we had brilliant time in Greece with unforgetful memories.

After reading the reviews on tripadvisor we were expecting so much better. Very frosty curt greeting on arrival. First impression of room was that it was spacious. Second was how dreary and tired the decor was. We then noticed that the bed cover looked grubby and on closer inspection found the mattress protector to be very dirty with heavy staining, sand and grit. This obviously hadn't been changed in sometime and was plastic backed!!! We complained to the owner who had it changed for us. I was then compelled to look inside the pillow cases and was disgusted to see how badly stained these were, so much so that we went to the supermarket to buy new pillows as we could not possibly have slept on these. The bed always seemed damp! The shower room was a nice size but the shower head leaked more than sprayed. The electric goes off when you take your fob out of the slot as is normal, but this also switches the fridge off, which is useless. Modern plastic front door to room, but, big gap under it which allowed a gale through. Generally, furniture and fittings old and worn.
The dirty laundry, bedding etc for the complex was heaped on the floor between our room and next door, and then caged. These cages were collected noisily early in the mornings.
The complex seems to be run on a shoestring and not very professionally. The pool area is very untidy with a large pipe permanently left connected draped across poolside. The safety signs had fallen off the wall and stuffed behind the pipe. A lot of sunbeds showing signs of damage.
Agree with other people who have written poor reviews. People who give this a 5 star review must have a very low expectation. We regularly stay at 3 star accommodation in Greece and Spain and this doesn't come close!!!

We arrived late on Saturday night and were quickly shown to our room. The room was a good size, in good condition and clean. It was too late for food so Yannis ordered us a take away Pizza ! The service as a hole is very friendly, the food is all homemade and good quality at a reasonable price. Mamma (the family mother) was continuously feeding us with free treats such as homemade cake and local delicacies.
The pool area is a good size and has plenty of sun loungers. The apartments are a little out of the way but there is a Café over the road and Supermarket a short walk up the road. There is a bus stop outside the Apartments and costs 2.20 Euros and takes around 15 mins into Rhodes town. Bearing in mind it is very quiet in April.
Overall, we had a relaxing break and felt very much embraced by this Greek family. We also had a good laugh with Yannis the barman to which, I never did find the Russian girls?
