“Lovely hotel ran by a fantastic family!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

No complaints at all regarding our stay at the lovely Paleos apartments! The rooms are spacious and very clean. The family that run the hotel cannot do enough to ensure you enjoy your stay. We arrived on a family holiday with 10 people and they got to know us all. They helped us with planning day trips, making sure we were all enjopying our stay and having great nights around the bar! All food is home cooked to an excellent standard and great value for money! We ate out a few times in Rhodes during our stay and the evening meals at paleos were by far the best. I would highly recommend staying here if you want a great service with a personal touch - thanks for a lovely stay!

We really enjoy our stay in Paleos apartments. The apartments are clean and tidy and the owners really take care of all installations, like the swimming pool area. Both the parents and Yiannis were very nice and they make our stay very easy, always trying to help.
The area around the apartments is nice, although it does not have the greatest beaches of the island. Actually they are all kind of rocky. To go to the center of Rhodes you can take a bus almost in front of Paleos apartments that cost you around 2 euros. Buses are not very punctual or frequent but it is also possible to take a taxi that cost around 12 euros.
The centre of Ialyssos, close by, is a very nice area where you will find nice and cheap restaurants.
The only problem that I found in Paleos apartments is the price for food, a little bit pricey for what it is, at least for breakfast. Our mistake was also not to ask for the bill the first day and after 5 days having breakfast there, we found a bill that we were not expecting. Besides this little problem at the end, we really enjoyed our stay in Paleos Apartments and I would recommend it to anyone, specially families.

Room Tip: The place is really quiet and I think all apartments are really good.

Just returned back from a week at the Paleos. Compared to other accommodation I looked at, this seemed reasonably priced and the excellent reviews swayed my decision to book. I have to say this hotel is very average and was a little disappointed. The rooms however are basic but spacious and very clean. We had a room with a view to the busy main road at the front, the gardens are ok but not the best and the flower troughs on every balcony contained dead plants, so a little attention to detail I think would go a long way. We stayed on a B & B basis and the breakfast is fine although service seems a little chaotic at busy times. The hotel is very small and family run (usually only 4 staff) with limited facilities; We had no interest in staying at the pool, it is tiny and seemed confined with a wall around so no outlook as such. We hired a car to see some sites and lalyssos was a very good base to venture out from. There is also a bus stop outside which takes you to Rhodes Town, this costs approx. 2 euros and takes 15 mins. Rhodes old town is absolutely beautiful and is well worth visiting, we done a night visit and a day visit - the night visit being much calmer and the lights create a lovely ambience.

Just back from two week in Rhodes at the Paleos Apartments; the holiday was fantastic and the Paleos are clean, spacious and within walking distance to the centre of Trianda and on a good bus route to Rhodes town which is full of history and culture. The Paleos family couldn't have been more welcoming or obliging - they are all lovely and happy to accommodate you in any way they can. The restaurant at the Paleos is also excellent with delicious meals being served using fresh and local produce. Can't wait to return! McCormack Family

We stayed here for 2 weeks with family and friends and had a lovely time! Firstly I need to say how lovely the Paleos family are!! Nothing was too much trouble and we felt at home right away! Maria, lovely lady, always making a fuss of the kids, was around for whatever we needed during the day, Mama was always tempting us with her beautiful home-made food....Dad was busy making sure everything was kept well in the hotel and grounds, and Yannis was the great guy who kept everyone happy at the bar on an evening!! Rooms were kept spotless, cleaned everyday except Friday. The apartments are huge!!!! Only negative thing to say about the rooms was that there was no toaster, and cooking facilities were very limited. 2 oven rings, a couple of saucepans and some cutlery. That was pretty much it. Maria or mama would cook whatever you wanted at the bar, whether it be just a piece of toast, but I would've preferred to be able to do my own should I wish to! I'm not a fan of full English breakfasts but I know lots of people are, I did think they were quite expensive at 6.90 euros, although that did include a drink and toast. The evening meals were lovely, most things cooked on the BBQ. The traditional Greek dishes on the menu were also lovely to try! Drinks were very reasonably priced...if they didn't have something you asked for they'd make sure they had it the next day! The park was a great hit with the kids, they were able to play where the adults could see them whilst waiting for food or having a quiet drink. The pool area was lovely, kept lovely and clean and sunbeds we're comfy too! My only bad thing to say about the holiday overall, is the main road!!!! The hotel is situated on the main road in the area, it's a good 20 minute walk to the restaurants, shops & bars, there's a supermarket about 5 mins walk....the road does get very busy though and we were always wary about walking down! The bus stop is right across the road, Rhodes old town and new town around 20-30 minute bus ride, depending on traffic. The old town is beautiful, a definite must see! Taxis are set price which also made you feel more at ease, knowing you weren't going to get ripped off!
Overall we did have a lovely holiday, we'd like to return just to see the Paleos family again, they were so welcoming, and made an effort with us the whole time we were there. When we went home, they all came to see us off, which was lovely of them to say bye. Thanx to all of them for making our holiday very enjoyable. Hope to see u all soon!!!! X

Back to Paleos this year still friendly and welcoming, very clean, good food will we be going again next year ? watch this space. As for a end note the island of Rodos has many historic places of ancient Greece to visit, car hire is not as cheap as other islands but hunt around for a deal is a good idea.

Room Tip: All rooms face the pool area which makes it quieter, the road can be noisy but usually in the (rush...
