2 lady-friends with 3 older teenagers, really nice stay. We had 2 beach front rooms which were very comfortable and quiet as they were on the far end side of the restaurants so we hardly heard any noice. Nice and friendly staff. Food was nice but lunch buffé maybe a little bit boring, dinners were much nicer with complimentary welcome drinks. The staff was really nice, especially Yota and Andreas!

Would love to visit again!

Room Tip: we had a nice ground floor beach front double number 1604 and 1603.

I agree with all the previously mentioned positives about Port Royal, the taxi transfer which made your arrival at the hotel feel very exclusive, cold towels, good food, hard working friendly staff etc,
so I suppose I can only try to fill in some gaps and add our own personal experiences.
I must admit, whilst we looked forward to the positives I think it is human nature to focus on the negatives and I spent the week leading up to the holiday expecting to be notified by Thomas Cook that we had been double booked but we werent. the flight was ok on a 767 which showed films (movies) we paid for extra leg room but this still wasnt great and the chairs are narrow and hard. anyway the veggie food on the plane was surprisingly good.

So, we arrived and took the taxi. Again I was expecting to be confronted by unfriendly reception staff but they were really nice and made us feel special.

we normally travel out of season so this was our first summer package holiday in many years our children are all grown up now so the adult only aspect helped to sell the accomodation.
also after years of looking for sunbeds without towels and sitting next to people smoking we decided to stretch the budget and booked a suite with a private pool.
wow, well worth the money, real luxury.
the only down side was that as aforementioned these were at the north of the site and on some nights the music from the hotel next door was very loud.

generally, to follow up on a number of things:

at the welcome meeting Thomas Cook announced that the AI would run until the same time as your arrival time, so if you arrived at say 6pm on the Tuesday it would run until 6pm on the following Tuesday which I think is quite a significant step

the coffee in the room and snack bar was awful, but in the lobby bar was fresh ground and very good.

the ruins in the grounds are of and old farmhouse, approximately 200 years old which they uncovered when building the hotel

at the big pool there was a waitress going round constantly taking drinks orders

in the main restaurant there is a non smoking external seating area, to the right just before
you go through the main doors to the main external seating area. here there are five two seater tables and one for four. here you will be served by Vasilli, who is actually an archaeologist during the day if you see him tell him that 802 say hello

the dress code wasnt adhered to at all. some people really dressed up and others were in shorts
although personally this doesnt bother me.

they had a good veggie selection. dont forget to check out the chef station at the rear of the restaurant where they had a good choice of pasta and rice dishes (the chef is Italian)

although most dishes were clearly marked as a veggie it was sometimes a guessing game as to what was in some dishes and we were caught out on a couple of occasions
though I must say that all of the food we had was of a high standard

if you are getting the bus from the Zeus supermarket, stand across the road, not at the bus stop, as the approaching streets are one way and they drive on the right. when going to Rhodes town he approached around from the side of the supermarket and pulled up on the corner and beeped his horn. when going to Lindos the bus came down the main road. the buses are air conditioned but be ready for a scramble to get on.
by the way if you are in Rhodes town and are approached by someone saying '' you look like a friendly English/British couple'' keep walking

we arrived on the Wednesday and for the first three days it was so quiet that it had an out of season feel to it, the hotel filled up after that but we never waited for a table in the restaurant
we generally went down at 8 after having cocktails at the lobby bar
and althouth the small pool was busy, there always seemed to be sun beds by the big pool.
it appeared that most people went to the beach

the entertainment was ok although the greek night was the best where I think that everyone was up dancing at some point, now matter how far you sat back and tried to blend in with the scenery
there was a beatles tribute band which were ok. the Disco night was awful and was drowned out by the hotel next door (who seemed to be having a more lively night of it)
the rest f the time it was greek entertainers, who although musically very good sang in English with a sometimes heavy accent.

in summary,
there were some nice touches, such as the free hotel mugs delivered on our last morning
and a plate of cakes delivered mid afternoon
we had a couple of minor technical/electrical issues, with the external lights and the TV but both were remedied in minutes (literally)
but overall it was a great holiday, would we go back? definately
room hint, save up and get a private pool

Beautiful hotel, recently renovated or built. We stayed at one of the bungalows, the rooms are large each has a balcony. Beds are comfortable, and even pillows( I am very picky about that). We had demipension- breakfast and dinner includes. Don't expect haute cuisine, but it is ok, and lots to choose from. The hotel is on the beach and has its own sunbeds and umbrellas for its clients- free of charge. The pools are great, you can amways find a free sunbed, and they give you fresh towels every day. A plus for us was the fact that it's reserved for adults, so really quiet for a very resting holiday. The hotel is situated in a small town, and at a half an hour away from the capital of the island. Right next to the hotel on the beach you can find a lovely sea food and greek food restaurant that serves only the catch of the day-everything is fresh. The only downside to the hotel is the paying wifi, and even so we couldn't get the wifi in our room.

The most romantic and relaxing stay we had ever had!
The resort is beautiful, quiet, relaxing, we didn’t need to get out at all!
The food is very good, the service is great, very nice staff.
Very romantic, private, clean.
The hotel is much more pretty then what you see in the pictures.
All the little things was thought off.
The view is breath taking and the pools, the gym, spa and restaurants are very high standards.
Very Recommended!!

We have stayed at the Sendido Port Royal hotel for the last four seasons and have always left with excellent memories. The hotel is trying to maintain a good level of service in difficult times for Greece and the staff is friendly and eager to assist. It is located at a fantastic place on the Afandou bay and offers a relaxing beautiful view of the sea. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we have encountered in Greece. Strongly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms on the northeastern side are away from the noise of the main swimming pool and the animators o...

We have just returned from a very enjoyable week holiday at this hotel. We experienced all the positives mentioned previously such as taxi transfer, cold drink on arrival, buggy transport to room with food, water and wine waiting for us. The air conditioned room was cleaned every day and bottles of water replaced every day too. We woke up to a beautiful Sea view every morning. The food was nice and there was a lot of variety. Although it was a shame that the outside dining area allowed smoking! We dined in the Gourmet restaurant on our last evening and the food was very nice, but very expensive (not included in the AI). The staff work very hard and are very friendly. We found it amusing how quickly our plates were removed from us at meal times, sometimes not even having finished our mouthful! and the one toaster was sooooo slow!

The pools are lovely and clean, with plenty of sun beds available. But, as always, the best spots are reserved by towels, sometimes the people don't even use the beds all day! Try not to get a bed under the trees by the main pool, unless you don't mind the really loud sounds of the Cicada bugs! The pool with the waterfall is much quieter! We were a little disappointed with the Beach and the streets outside of the hotel! I think the little town is in a state reflecting the current financial climate! It does have quite a cute character though!

There is an archeological site within the hotel that has been fenced off. it would have been nice to have had some information about what has been found at the site etc...

I am pleased to let you know that Thomas Cook do seem to have taken on board your comments on the all inclusive finishing at 12 when you check out. They have now extended this to mirror the same time that you arrived!

Tweaks that could be made to make this a perfect experience. (1) Better evening entertainment that is not aimed at 70+, I am not asking for tacky, but something a bit more lively, like the singer in the Blue Bar who we really enjoyed. (2) Replace the red and white tape around the grass area with a nice rope(or something!) (3) Some kind of non intrusive poolside service so that you can order drinks at your leisure during the day rather than having to get up to the Bar! ( 4) More than one shower room/ courtesy room for the last day. I felt this really let the hotel down and spoilt the standard that we had been having all week. 5) Non smoking outside dining areas. And (6) a better toaster, lol ;)

Room Tip: Sea view away from the neighbouring hotel which is as noisy as other people have mentioned!
