We have just returned home after 2 weeks at HVR. Not sure how anybody can write a bad review about the place! From the moment we arrived the staff and the hotel were amazing. Our room on the activity side (I mailed and requested a quiet room at the activity and that's what I got!) block 2500 is fab and is around the quieter pool on the activity side. This is the first hotel I've been to in the summer holidays were there hasn't been a problem getting a sunbed so that was fab.
The entertainment team were fantastic and we really looked forward to it every night. Rory was really funny, lee was fab with the kids and a fantastic dancer and so was jimmy. In fact we preferred them to the flown in acts. The best night was the HV unplugged, Hannahs and Jimmys voice were amazing. We will really miss them all as they really worked hard and were fantastic. I have to also make a special mention to Luke one of the children's reps as my daughter was ill whilst we were there on the high ropes and he really went that extra mile helping her and checking on her and with not only my daughter but son too and we will never forgot that! Thank you Luke.
The food was fab and something different everynight. We ate at the Italian too during our stay and the service and food was fantastic here too.
We enjoyed the swim up bar during the day whilst the children were at razzmatazz (Emily and Charlotte the razzmatazz girls were amazing and really friendly too, we all loved them!) Billy the barman was fab and kept our drinks topped up!
My children only went to the kids clubs a few times as to be honest they were a little hit and miss some of the activities planned are great but require the children to do a lot of waiting for eg archery. So they got bored. They preferred razzmatazz and the waterpark!
If I could give one suggestion to
the hotel it would be good if they had some sort of disco or something just until midnight as the music cuts off at 11pm and the atmosphere dies very quickly. That's the only thing but apart from that fab, fab, fab. Would highly recommend! If you're going soon I'm very jealous! :(
Thank you to everyone at HVR. ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

Only our 2nd family holiday together and choose here for its appearance and recommendations. This holiday village IS A MUST to book with the kids.
Positives..... Weather was amazing. Pools are brilliant for kids and adults (including the swim up bar which the kids could use). Kids clubs for all ages are brilliant. The high wires are a must do. The food was just amazing (the choice and the amount). The staff are so friendly and helpful. The resort has everything you need including a shop so really you don't need to leave the resort. The resort is a 5 minute walk to the beach which is lovely and includes water sports activities. The day trips are a must do (especially the boat trip around the island which sees you snorkelling and swimming in the med!). The rooms are lovely especially overlooking the waterpark, mountains and the sea.....some rooms overlooked the car park though so be careful.
Negatives......kolimbia itself isn't pretty and has nothing to do but like I've mentioned..there is so much to do in the resort and the day trips that you don't need to venture out. The hotel check out time is 12 noon so be careful if your flight is at night. We had to book a late check out which allowed us to stay in the room until 6pm but at a charge of 90 EUROS!!!!!!!!
I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat.

Absolutely fantastic holiday at Holiday Village Rhodes. Lovely facilites and the staff are always more than happy to help... LOVED the guy with the tash at the buffet! Always ready with a smile, and nothing too much trouble. We were in a swim up room which was perfect, clean and cool. The food in the restaurants was fantastic (the Italian being my fave) and the buffet provided an excellent and varied choice (although a little salty). The entertainment, activities and ease of getting around the island via local bus made it a fantastic holiday!

My only complaint is about some of the people who stayed... we watched one family leave a dirty nappy next to their sun loungers when leaving for the day, and whilst the cleaners did an awesome job clearing up every day, we were up early enough to see the mess they cleaned up every day from the previous night. Come on people, how easy is it to put a cup in a bin, or place an empty glass on the bar - don't leave it in a bush, or just dump it on the floor! Don't get me wrong - the place was cleaned REALLY WELL, it was being up before most of the resort to see what the fantastic cleaners had to clean up after that frustrated me!

Room Tip: The swim up room is definitely worth the extra - being able to climb out of the pool onto our privat...

We stayed in the Deluxe area which is well worth the extra money. You have your own Restaurant and a pool. Food was amazing and the staff are really friendly! Special mention to the George's, they were great and the kids loved them.

Room Tip: Go for Deluxe!!!!

We have just come back from a one week stay at the Holiday Village in Rhodes and it is by far the best holiday we have ever been on. The food was simply amazing in taste, variety and presentation. The entertainment during the day and evening was excellent. We stayed at the Holiday Village in Portugal last year and had a great time but this resort is far more superior in every way. I would like to thank Thomas and all the staff at the Holiday Village for a most memorable holiday and a special thank you from my daughter Erin to oh la la who works in the restaurant. I have never gone to the same resort ever however we will most definately be making a return visit. If you are looking for great food, lots of fun, even to relax or take part in the activities then this is the holiday for you.

Many thanks

Debbie, Richard and Erin

Room Tip: We stayed in the relax side of the resort and you had the best of everything

Having been to HV's before, we were very excited to return to one we hadn't been to. We weren't disappointed in some respects. The local staff work extremely hard, always happy, chatty and can't do enough for you. It's a shane some of the TUI staff haven't taken a leaf out of their book. Guy, the Swim Coach was extremely rude, after asking him a certain question, he replied with "I don't know, that's not my department". Thanks for your help then. Found 'Torquay Techie' to be pretentious and stuck up, again unwilling to 'go the extra mile'. Also why does he talk during i5Live, it ruins the natural chemistry between Rory and Paige?! Jimmy is very brash towards the kids and we found he was drowning out the other performers during the shows as he was too loud. However, Rory is ridiculous! He is by far and away the best i5Live presenter we've ever seen, he's too big for a HV stage and he made the entertainment, hands down. He has great charisma and he can get away with things that other people can't because he is so well liked and so good at his job. The best show was by far HV Unplugged and Hannah's and Lee's voices are brilliant! Having been there for 2 weeks we weren't PR'ed to once during the stay, the reps tend to favour the same people/families and don't speak to everyone there which is a shame, even though on numerous nights, we were one of maybe 3 families that stayed after the entertainment had finished. The Kids Club reps were amazing! Special mention to Amber who couldn't do enough to get all our kids involved and was more than happy to speak to us whenever she saw us. Another one who is too big for Holiday Village and deserves to be somewhere bigger. We found there wasn't enough going on during the day, some activities that were advertised were not PR'ed, like 'Gladiator' and 'Beat the Elite'. There are not enough adult sessions on, having been to other Holiday Villages we were keen to do activities such as Killer Darts and Poker, but all they had for adults was a quiz and Football. What about the women?? Being there for 2 weeks we found the activities were done on a weekly rota which meant out youngest child did 'Space Odyssey' 3 times in 2 weeks?!
All in all, we made the best of the holiday for the children but the standard and variety of the activities isn't up to scratch with other Holiday Villages even though this is '5 star'. Evening entertainment though is the best we've seen and made not only our days but the whole holiday.

Have just returned from HV Rhodes and had a lovely relaxing holiday. Having booked our first all inc holiday I was a little worried as I felt that it was a lot of money, for what I gathered from the reviews was a 4 star resort, also I was told (booking in April 2014) that we had the last room, no choice of type of room or area of resort, but nevertheless wanted to give this hotel a go and especially Rhodes! A double room was booked in the activity part of the hotel (bit worried about this as we also do like our luxury 5 star). Having said that I feel you need to compromise at times to keep the kids happy. Went with a view that this was a 4 star resort and very appropriate for keeping children busy at all times. We were not disappointed and was just as we expected. Do not worry about staying in the activity area as it is absolutely fine, most people come over to the activity area daily anyhow, especially if you have kids as there is nothing for them in the deluxe/relax area. Albeit it could be a little noisy at times, but what do you expect when there are so many activities for kids to do.

The staff here are amazing and the first choice staff go above and beyond to make your holiday a great one, they were always happy and very energetic, I don't know how they do it.

Food is fabulous in all fairness, I would recommend you book your a la carte restaurants on the day of your arrival ( you can't book before your arrival), we arrived for 10 days booked the restaurants on our second day and only got the last 3 nights for the a la carte, but due to trips out cancelled two, and only ate in the Italian which was fantastic. There is so much choice and variety in the buffet that you really needn't worry, especially if like us your used to eating out on holiday. There is a negative though that the buffet restaurant can be a little Butlins style with its business at times, but its a busy place and lots of people to feed. We were disappointed after paying to eat in the deluxe area restaurant to find that it wasn't even on par with the buffet restaurant, so disappointed with that. I agree with some of the reviews that it would be nice to have another bar (other than adults bar) which serves drinks in glasses and nice coffees, also in my opinion the reception area and sports bar is very tired and could do with a makeover. Rooms are lovely and we were not disappointed with our room no 2705 ( i didn't feel the swim up rooms were worth paying extra for if I had a choice) as the ones opposite us had very little sun and because of this people were taking up the sunbeds outside the pool area, hence there didn't seem to be enough sunbeds, but don't despair there are always deckchairs in the aquapark so at least you can catch the sun there. All in all a very good holiday. Rhodes town and Lindos are a must visit. Wasn't keen on Kolymbia itself, but the hotel was great. Our son is 11 and 11 months so thought he was too old for the 9-11 kids club and couldn't join the older ones (which wouldn't have been fair on the older ones anyway) I had to coax him to go the the club and when he did go it was mostly girls aged 9-19, so I suppose the boys must all think the sam. Luckily for us he loves football so we booked him in the academy he enjoyed it so much after 3 days we booked another two, thats where a lot of the boys were and he made lots of lovely friends. After dinner every night the boys of all ages met in the football courts and played again till lights went off at 10.30.
