We had a fantastic time at this holiday village. The food was very good which was a little unexpected. We only ate in the buffet restaurant as there was loads of choice & every night the main dish was freshly cooked while we watched. Inside was air-conditioned but the majority of seating is outside under cover. We found this quite hot & stifling so ate inside. The pools were fabulous esp the lazy river and the slides. We had a few issues with people putting towels on sunbeds at ridiculous times of the morning but we're used to that! Entertainment was terrific. The entertainment team worked so so hard and were just brilliant in some really excessive temperatures, The daytime team were just superb. Kids club was fantastic which we did expect after being at a holiday village last year & it was such a relief to be able to get the kids out of the sun for a couple of hours. The evening entertainment was also extremely good. First choice have obviously invested quite heavily in costumes, props & training for this season & it showed. Some of the shows were superb. Our only minor winges were the bedrooms. Too small for a family, the doors are a real pain & the bathrooms lack space for toiletries etc. I wish we had upgraded to a swim up room too. We didn't like the acts "flown in from the UK" either very much. They were amusing in places but alot of the jokes were for an adult audience and the audience was full of kids until 11pm most nights. The hotel staff were also very friendly & helpful. But it was the entertainment team that made the holiday though. So Ben 2000, Cameron, Matty, Chris, Kat, Ashleigh, Ben, Gavin, Claire, Kayleigh, Dave & Craig to name but a few. Thanks guys, you were fantastic.

Hi, thanks for the review. We’ll take onboard your comments about space for toiletries in the bathrooms and hope this is something we can look at for next season. We’ll pass on your comments to our Entertainments team and hope you either come back to see us or try one of our other Holiday Villages for your next holiday.

It is the morning after our return from our 2 weeks stay at the holiday village and the first thing I am desperate to do is write a review! I want to first say how sorry I feel for the numerous people who paid to visit the hotel on opening as there appeared to have been many teething problems - to elleviate anyones worries these have now well and truly been sorted. This is a fabulous place for families - it is clean, good food, good entertainment and ample sized, well furnished and comfortable rooms. We stayed on the royal deluxe side with a swim up room and thoroughly enjoyed the novality of the pool. I am not going to repeat what everyone has written in their previous reviews I am just going to say that I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone with children or who enjoys a more active holiday. Yes there are no food facilities on the deluxe side but come on if walking 100yards to grab a spot of lunch too much like hard work then stick to England and go to MAcdonalds drive through! The alcohol is what you would expect from all inclusive and they are not going to serve connoiseur wines!! For those people who have previously reviewed the hotel as 'Butlins' and 'seeking refugee in the adult bar' - get a grip and next time don't book a holiday that is primarily geared up for families!!! People make the holiday - the staff (all); other guests including children were fabulous. My advice don't read reviews from June, May - read recent ones as all the problems have well and truly been sorted!

Hello, thanks for your review. We’re pleased you had a good holiday. We have all worked hard throughout the summer to iron out any teething problems and to improve the resort. It seems to be paying off now which is all we could have asked for. Perhaps for next year you could try our new 5Sun Holiday Village in Tunisia.

Just returned from the holiday village and no doubt like many people I had been following the poor reviews on this hotel and was very concerned about our impending trip. However, was pleasantly surprised upon arrival, when greeted by a chilled glass of wine and the offer of the porters delivering our cases to the room.

Rooms were of a high standard although slightly small for four people but were very comfortable. Our family stayed in the Royal Deluxe area, which lacked a bar facility, however, this I understand is being addressed next season and in the meantime there is the hut facility where soft drinks (cans) bottled water, beer, coffee and ice creams are served. Wines and spirits could be obtained near by in the swim up pool.

The facilities of the hotel were super and by staying in the Royal Deluxe area you had the advantage of dipping in and out of the busier side. Although, it was some what disappointing to have a road going through the site which was used by the general public, other tourists and the local community. On two occassions our family spotted a male member hanging along the side of the road by the childrens park and activity area, which raised concerns for us as they were not wearing the hotel wrist band. The Hotel does have the underpass, which is not really a requirement as the traffic along the road is not busy but the road does introduce a lack of security. The hotel would definately benefit from a form of manned security across the two sites checking people's wrist bands when returning from either side.

Food and service in the Royal Deluxe was very varied and always a good choice to a high standard. The staff within the restaurant and RD reception were very welcoming and accommodating to our needs. The main buffet restaurant in the activity side also had a fabulous choice but was like dining in a food hall of a shopping centre at christmas time. Jammed packed!!!

Unfortunately there are some negative comments, which I understand from the Hotel management are currently being addressed, so hopefully all should be well in the very near future. The domestic house keepers are really letting this super hotel and it's staff down. External areas, including the pool side are not cleaned frequently or to a high standard. On a number of occasions broken glass was found around the pool. A number of guests experienced mice in their rooms and generally the standard of the cleaning and bed making was of a poor quality.

If the cleaning can be mastered this hotel will start to make the grades, but not yet there for a five star.

The bathrooms are of a high standard offering a shower within the jacuzzi bath and a separate shower with a various jets, however, during my holiday I only managed to have hot water twice and due to a local problem on a number of occassions we encountered no water at all for between 1 - 2 hours. However, if you can live with this and bear with the teething problems it has the makings of a great holiday.

Hello, thanks for your comments. We have hotel security at night with guards walking around the complex constantly. There is a public road between the two hotel sides which is not part of the hotel. As we’ve said before in previous responses, the housekeeping staff are usually quick to help with any problems so as usual we would recommend customers to bring any issues to our attention straight away, no matter how small or insignificant, to avoid inconvenience.

Have just returned from one of the best holidays have ever been on. Everything about the hotel was brilliant. We stayed in the activity side in a swim-up room which i would definitely recommend. The room was spacious with a double and queen size bed, the bathroom had a bath with shower and a stand alone shower (excellent for getting ready). There was plenty of storage space (and we never travel light!!!), the only problem being not enough hangers (but there never is for a family of four). Outside we had 2 very comfortable sun loungers and a table with three chairs (4 would have been better but again only a slight niggle). We had our own access to the smaller pool on the activity side and also a jacuzzi. We had the sun on our room until early afternoon at which point we simply moved to the other side of the pool (where there was always 1 or 2 beds available) or we would go to the water park where you could always grab a chair and umbrella.

The water park itself was very good with a lazy river, numerous childrens slides and 3 adult slides, one complaint i would have would be that these 3 slides weren't accessible to under 12's which was a great disppointment to my 8 year old daughter who is a very strong swimmer and quite tall for her age - she has been on much higher slides before without a problem (I will admit she did have a few sneaky goes on and loved every minute), i would highly recommend this age limit is looked at again! As i have said though the water park was amazing and only a 5 minute walk from anywhere in the complex!

The food in the hotel is what i would expect from staying in 4 star all inclusive hotels before. There was a good variety and everything was well cooked and tasted nice. The cakes and desserts were probably the best i have tasted in an all inclusive holiday and with such a vast choice it was difficult to decide on what not to have! I dont know what some people expect from a buffet restaurant serving hundreds of people but if you are wanting a la carte dining every night dont go all inclusive!!! the staff in the restaurant were always polite and friendly and quick at removing plates, spillages were cleaned up straight away and nothing was too much problem!! Yes it was hot in the outside restaurant but this wasn't unbearable and my children preferred sitting outside! We ate at the italian restaurant once and it was a nice change to be waited on, the food was ok but no better than that in the buffet! The snack bar throughout the day was lovely and a lot nicer and more efficient than have experienced in the past, I enjoyed the kebabs (which changed meats every day), there was also burgers, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, (different choices every day), pizza's, sandwiches and sald.

People have complained about the entertainment being in your face and like butlins in the sun but what do they really expect from a 'holiday village'. the activities you could join in if you wished but you weren't hassled if you didn't, there was a good variety of things going on throughout the day that you could take or leave!

The evening entertainment was really good and the 5 entertainers work really hard. they are all good singers and dancers and put on a variety of performances, the first part was for the children and my 4 year old really enjoyed it, the second part for the adults and i have to say the performaces by the in-house entertainment was more enjoyable than the entertainment brought in. We enjoyed the entertainment last year (Majorca HV) and thought that would be hard to beat but this year it was obvious first choice have put a lot more emphasis on the entertainment (with the introduction of i 5 live and i candy).

Overall we have had a really good holiday and think alot of what has been said in previous reviews is unfair, all of the staff in the hotel both british and greek are working really hard to make this a great hotel, we will definitely return to this hotel again!

Hello, thanks for your wonderful review. We’re pleased you had a great family holiday and would consider returning to see us again in the future. All the staff have been working extremely hard all summer to make this a great resort and it sounds like it’s paying off. We will take on board your comments about the water slides, however not all 8 year olds are that tall and we don’t want there to be any accidents.

I read numerous views prior to our holiday and thought "oh my god, what have I done".
I even visited the travel agents and looked at alternatives!! However; I am so glad we didn't change. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we had the most fantastic time. Any teething problems there had been, appeared to have been overcome.
Admittedly, we did stay within the Royal Deluxe area, with a swim up room and if you can stretch to this I would certainly recommend you do. The activity area looked great but for us, having the choice was better.
Yes, if you want to be fussy the room could be bigger but it was ample for us (2 adults & 1 teenager, I think another one would have been okay too) but the facilities were fantastic, with ample storage.
The pools were great and always plenty of room to play without annoying others, despite the area being full and sunbeds taken. Yes some tiles were off the bottom of the pool, which could be uncomfortable at times but I did not see anyone with cuts though to say there wasn't. I don't though see how this could have been addressed, without draining the pool and that just wouldn't have been plausible.
Yes sunbeds could be a problem but again I think this was mainly a problem at the activity side, where everyone obviously wanted to be right by the pool. Within the deluxe are we got up about 9 am everyday and were happy to have a bed just a few seconds away from the pool, to the side.
The food was fantastic throughout, especially within the deluxe area, with a good choice of hot/cold food, wine, beer & soft drinks to accompany. We used this for breakfast / evening meals every day and only ventured to the restaurant at the activity side for lunch. This was nice but I agree with other views that it could be a nightmare in the evening and take the gloss off a little. I think this should be a little bigger and more inside to cater for demand.
The evening entertainment did not always suit our tastes but everyone appeared to be having fun; we enjoyed a comedy magician, motown singer and a Beatles tribute band, all of which had been drafted in to improve I think.
The lager, spirits, cocktails, wine and soft drinks were enjoyed by all of us. I love a lager, glass a red wine & a cocktail. I thoroughly enjoyed what was on offer. Snacks were also plentiful but not as easy to get within the royal deluxe area.
The pool bar within the relax area was fantastic and we ventured there most days. I loved the idea of sitting on a stool at the bar with water lapping round the waist.
All staff from the cleaners, bar staff and hotel staff were brilliant but maybe you only get back what you give (some people seem so miserable despite being on holiday).
I did hear that only in the royal deluxe area was bottled water supplied, which I felt was wrong and we could not get our heads round why this was, as this would not appear to be fair.
Everyone we spoke to, from various areas of the UK, all appeared to be very impressed with this resort and we certainly had the best holiday so far, despite our boy having an ear infection for the last 2 days. Many of these satisfied customers were from the activity area too, not just relax / deluxe.
To be fair I think this resort is definately a 5 star resort, I have stayed in 3, 4 & 5 star and know the difference but if people want to find fault they will.
Also sometimes things do happen, which are out of anyones control and I think when choosing a holiday you need to take this into account.
I spoke with many people who thought the same and also enjoyed, what they rated, as their best holiday ever.
We didn't have much contact with the first choice staff but on the occasion we did we could not fault them. What I would say is unlike some resorts they didn't attempt to force you into joining in and only encouraged you, which meant there were no uncomfortable moments for us.
To give you an idea of what to expect, a family we got friendly with suggested that along with an assortment of cheese being offered with an evening meal, crackers & biscuits should also. Guess what, the next evening crackers were there!! They really are trying to improve and respond to holiday makers wishes, where possible.
We would love to return but fear the price increase may prevent us from doing so. Also we like to visit different places. Our biggest problem, I fear is finding a holiday, which will now match our expectations.

Hello and thank you for your comments. We have been trying to take on board everyone’s comments as we want to keep improving. Guests can get water from dispensers around the resort for people to pick up and take back to their rooms if they wish. We’re really happy your family had a good holiday and if you find it hard to choose somewhere else for next year, why not come back! Or, if you’d like to try another country we have two new Holiday Villages opening next summer in Tunisia and Tenerife.

Stayed in holiday village July into August.
I was a little worried about this holiday due to negative comments. Should I have been worried NO !!!!!!
I emailed guest relations before arrival and got a fast response. (Never had that in any holiday I have booked before).
I travelled with my family and friends and what a fab time we all had. Never had such a relaxing holiday.
Never up before 10am. Breakfast was lovely and the staff in deluxe area are very friendly cheerful and such hard workers.
I could go one but would be repeating what others have said.
If you are due to go to this village (you lucky people) I am sure you will have a fab time just as we did.
I would and will return one day. Go and enjoy.
