“Very nice hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2014

This was our first trip to Rhodes and anyone who has read my previous reviews will know I am quite a hotel snob. On arrival to our hotel we welcomed with a glass of sparkly or 5 and smiling friendly staff. The checking in process was quick and easy - well organised as there were several coach loads to check in. Our cases were in our room before we were and as other reviews have said sandwiches, crisps and fruit were provided due the late arrival and the restaurant finishes serving at 21:30. A bottle of sparkling wine was in an ice bucket in our room with compliments as we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Our room was a split level suite with a limited sea view. We were very near to the reception and restaurant areas, the view was sufficient for us and the room was very comfortable. The hotel offer a pillow service to ensure their guests have a good nights sleep - they have a choice of feather, memory foam and shaped pillows. I would recommend taking advantage of this service - I asked for all of them to try! The All Inclusive restaurant had a wide range of food options to cater for most tastes - great for mix and matching. They had themed nights were a great opportunity of trying foods that we had not had before if we chose. As usual there is too much to choose from and and ideal for the larger appetites. The bars served drinks from morning right through to midnight which is great as some places stop the AI drinks from 10 or 11 pm. The entertainment was arranged by the lovely Anna - Thomson rep- she had quizzes and games during the day and live entertainment at night in the ball room. We particularly enjoyed listening to J2S aka Julie and Andy who who have a great repertoire of music and genres. The pool area is very clean and there are plenty of sun beds for everyone! The water was quite cold but the weather was really hot during our stay. I didn't use the Spa as the prices were double that i would pay here in the UK however if you fancy a treat I am sure the facilities and treatments will be excellent. We would recommend booking the following excursions - Tale of two and half cities which visits Lindos, Rhodes town and Old Rhodes town. Lots of history and photo opportunities. The boat trip to Symi, an island about 20 miles from Rhodes but very near to Turkey, is worth going on. A lovely quaint island with beautiful houses and shops - buy natural sponges here at a very good price! This hotel has a varied range of guest ages as it is a couples hotel and it was obvious that there were many couples who had returned. This is a lovely hotel, rooms are exceptionally clean, food is plentiful and the majority of staff are friendly.

Room Tip: Some rooms have outside bed loungers with a sea view and four poster beds inside!

This is in the top 3 hotels I've ever stopped in. Amazing location and scenery, wish I could wake up to that sunrise every day. The friendliest staff. A vast selection of quality food at every sitting. Proper mattress loungers. Spacious rooms. And decent sized beer cups! A winner all round, we'll be back. Thanks Atlantica :0)
Ps, my only minor gripe was our bathroom was dated, not sure if other rooms were like this.

Room Tip: Top floor, Sea view essential, breathtaking scenery!

Stayed during the Easter school holidays with my two daughters. Chose a couples hotel as they are both teachers. Arrived late evening to a glass of cava and speedy check in. Although the restaurant was closed we were provided with a plate of refreshments in our room and a bottle of wine, which was a lovely welcome. Room was well appointed, comfortable and very clean. Woke up to a wonderful sea view from our balcony! Restaurant was fantastic with so much choice of freshly prepared food it was difficult to choose! Staff were always friendly and helpful. No problem getting sunbeds and the view from the pool over the sea was wonderful. Evening entertainment was OK. The waiting staff very attentive and always on hand to refill your glasses! The duo who sang in the piano bar were exceptional! The resort was partly closed due to the time of year but lovely walks along the nearby beaches were beautiful. Bus service available to Rhodes Town, Lindos etc. Taxi fares negotiable, 25 Euros back from Rhodes Town at night. A visit to Lindos & Rhodes Town highly recommended. After an awful experience of Greece 28yrs ago I vowed I would never return! What a gem I have missed! I would highly recommend this hotel and found Rhodes a beautiful island and will definitely return!

Nice hotel with staff who make it worth the stay. Food can't be faulted as it was plentiful and well varied.

Grounds clean, tidy and well kept.

The hotel is not 5 star, very good 4 star, that's why it was fantastic value for £600 pp all inc for a week. I would recommend it, not for the location, for the cleanliness and efficient staff.

Nice holiday, life's too short to return to the same location.

This was our first visit to the Atlantica and it was the most incredible hotel we have ever experienced.
We arrived on the 19th April, the transfer was very hectic but once we got to the hotel we were greeted with a glass of wine or an orange juice which was a very nice touch. the bags were left outside and you queued for a short time to get our room keys and then within 20 minutes our bags were with us. this was incredibly well done when there was possibly over 150 people on 4 full coaches checking in at the same time!

the entire hotel is 5 star, the room itself was so clean and well maintained and large, we had a double room with a sea view. (only downside walls are thin you can hear peoples conversations in the next room)

the breakfast was ok but we are not breakfast people so we decided to skip it most days

Lunch was absolutely incredible, the choice of food, the choice of desserts, never seen anything like it before and the quality was the same every day

Dinner was the same, the food was great and again the desserts even though strangely there seemed to be more choice at lunch than at dinner (tip for dinner would be to sit in the front by the waterfall inside as you get a great service and dont have to queue for inside the hall itself)

I could go on and on about the pool area, the quality of the drinks (try a tequilla sunrise they are amazing!) but hands down it is the best hotel we have ever stayed at and just wish we had booked for 2 weeks

Booked one week AI with Thomson in April. Hotel location is scenic - plenty of sunbeds available to sunbathe overlooking the sea. Easy walk along the beach in both directions with lovely unspoilt headland to walk over and view the countryside and sea. Small resort with shops if you want a stroll.

Hotel rooms were excellent and cleaned to high standard. Only one mishap with towels not being left; but this was soon rectified by reception. Little disappointed initially that balcony lost sun early in the day but guessed this is because in summer it would be too hot to sit out, whereas with the shade, it would be possible and there was great sea view. Downside for us of this room however was the building and renovation work being carried out around this block and the next. Something neither the hotel, nor Thomson advised us of. Builders arrived around eight in the morning and began drilling or hammering which was annoying and spoilt lie-ins. Building materials were left lying around until the end of the day with no regard for H&S.

Would concur with previous reviewer that entertainment room was musty; but as we tended to stay in bar and chat I can't comment on entertainers other than the duo who were good.

Food was excellent in main restaurant but again disappointed that when we took advantage of the A la carte offer, the chef opted for 'small portions equals A la carte'. We did point out to staff when asked if everything was OK that to have provided more than one chipped potato, one sliver of carrot and an asparagus tip would have turned what was a tasty fish dish into a more than acceptable meal; but asking others who dined there later in the week, they appeared not to have taken us up on the suggestion which is a shame. However, food throughout the week was excellent and I would suggest anyone being unable to find anything to suit them would be very picky indeed as there are chips, rice, pasta, vegetables etc to supplement both meat, poultry and fish dishes, as well as a Greek corner and salad bar for delicious starters with most people visiting the dessert bar too for delicious ice cream etc.

Drinks were OK with exception of tonic water which was not to our taste; but sparkling wine and beer were great, as was the ice coffee during the day.

Lindos & Rhodes reached easily by bus or taxi (32 euros normally I believe but as it was early season we were able to negotiate this down). Both well worth a visit.

Overall a lovely holiday in a lovely hotel where we met some lovely people.

Rhodes airport and the organisation of departures is appalling - Thomsons please note!!

Room Tip: Rooms in quieter blocks (2 & 3) are some way from reception and main area. Not suited to those...

This was our first visit to Rhodes and we are already planning a return visit because we were so impressed by the wonderful Atlantica Imperial! The room was a deluxe sea view which was amazing in every way. It was lovely to wake up to the sound of the sea and complete peace every morning. I am a fussy vegetarian but found the food delicious and varied. The deserts were very tasty and attractive. I find it hard to believe anyone could find fault with the food in the buffet restaurant, we certainly couldn't! The check in and out was pretty awful and the airport worse but none of this was down to the hotel and hopefully Thomson will get things sorted out soon! I used the spa twice....super pampering and we felt we had a fantastic relaxing holiday... thank you to all at the Atlantica Imperial ... see you in 2015!
