We have just returned from a 2 week stay at this hotel, and can highly recommend it.
We stayed in a swim up room, which was large, airy, clean and had excellent facilities. The bed was huge and the mattress was one of the most comfortable we have slept on, we slept like logs every night. There was also a pillow menu. Our swim up pool was lovely but unfortuantly we did'nt use it as much as we would have liked to as it was not heated and was freezing!!! The view from the room was lovely, overlooking a bay and the headland.
The food was excellent, the variety was out of this world! We went all inclusive and did'nt regret it. So much effort went into presentation of the food, with displays and a different theme each night.
The location of the hotel was on the beach and just a short walk to the shops.
We hired a car for 3 days and was good value and worth it to really explore this beautiful island. Diesel is much cheaper to buy than petrol and we were upgraded to a diesel car from 'RODOS' cars based in the hotel, who we can recommend.
The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and well cared for. The beach wasn't the best, although the water was lovely, it was mainly pebbles and shingle making it hard to walk along.
The staff were superb, so hard working and friendly. The only upset we have was regarding the cats that wandered around the hotel, they were lovely and some in a poor way. Sadly, management put up signs asking guests not to feed them. They don't seem to realise that a lot of their guests were concerned for the cats welfare. We sent a hand written letter to the management with our concerns, but sadly they did not reply, perhaps an indication of the lack of care they had towards them. The sign that was put up by management stated that they hoped to set up a feeding station for the local cats somewhere in the vacinity but ourselves and several other guests thought this would prove highly unlikely. We are in the process of trying to adopt one of the cats we found, but don't think we will be successful. Any future cat-loving guests please feed the tiny, white cat who lives inbetween the hotel and the car hire showroom down the track, please feed her in the evenings - she has just had kittens. Please help the cats.

Room Tip: Swim up rooms lovely

Stayed for two weeks. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food not too bad. Room adequate. BUT problem had a massive problem with. It'd nests and everyone is sick of the mess they make on the balconies. What is point of having a balcony if you cannot sit out

Entertainment was rubbish. Anna was terrible and could not sing. And as for those awful quizzes!

The Thomsons reps were rubbish and you couldn't see them at all. Very badly organised leaving hotel for airport

Would. Go back I doubt it.

Have stayed at much better five star hotels than this!

This is our 3rd time to Rhodes and this hotel. We can not find any fault with the hotel, staff or food. We were amazed to hear about a review that to us sounded ludicrous, how can anyone moan about the food in any way. There are choices abundant for all tastes. The food is presented well and tastes as good as it looks. The staff are amazing and aim to please in any way they can always smiling and helpful.

We booked this holiday as a last minute deal through Thomson. It was our first time in Rhodes, so we weren't sure what to expect. Fortunately, it was a fantastic holiday.

The hotel was lovely - spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We were greeted on arrival with a glass of wine, and check in was surprisingly quick given some of the previous reviews. We'd booked a superior room, which had a four poster bed and an amazing sea view. As we'd arrived on an evening flight we'd missed dinner, but there was a variety of fresh sandwiches and a bottle of wine in our room. A major plus for me was that there was always hot water and the shower had decent pressure, and there was a lot of storage available.

The pool and grounds were really nice, with even the standard loungers being very comfortable, and the luxury double loungers/beachfront lounge being available with wine, water and fresh fruit for an additional cost.

Food in the buffet was pretty good, and less repetitive than at other all inclusive hotels we've stayed at. There was something different every night, with the Far East themed evening being particularly good. The a la carte restaurant was very good - I had possibly one of the nicest steaks ever in there. The staff throughout the hotel were all brilliant - friendly, helpful and incredibly hardworking.

There were some nice walks in the area, with some interesting wildlife (birds, lizards and butterflies). Kolymbia itself was very quiet, but we visited right at the start of the season (end of April) - there were still quiet a few shops and hotels that were still closed. It also meant that the local cash machines still weren't operational, but I imagine that this won't be an issue in a few weeks. When they are operational though, people staying at the hotel will probably be pleased that there's one just opposite the entrance, alongside bus stops.

Being in Kolymbia, the hotel is halfway between Lindos and Rhodes Town - the buses take between 30 - 45 minutes to get to each location, both of which are well worth visiting. The buses can be a bit cramped, but apparently this eases up in busier times as there more buses running throughout the day. If you're not a fan of buses or want to visit other areas of the island, Rodos Cars have a branch near the hotel, and a rep in the lobby.

We also took a mountain biking trip with Rhodes Roads, who are based towards the south of the island - they picked us up from the hotel, drove us to the start of the trail, and then we experienced a different side to the island (around Monolithis). It was brilliant to see the island outside of the more touristy areas - forests, archeological sites, olive plantations and lakes - I'd thoroughly recommend it.

Be prepared for the weather though - despite expecting temperatures to be around the 18 degree mark with it being April, it regularly got to 25 - 27 degrees each day, which was a pleasant surprise, but we saw a few people with nasty sunburn that had obviously underestimated the sun!

There weren't many downsides to the hotel - as other reviews have mentioned, the safe is rather small, but we just left our valuables in drawers without incident. It would have been nice to have a daily restock of bottled water in the minibar, but again, it's not a major issue as the tap water is drinkable, and bottles were available from every bar. The entertainment wasn't to our taste (although the Beatles tribute was surprisingly good). We weren't short of things to do though - we would have liked to have done more snorkelling, visited Tsambika, etc - we just didn't have time!

All in all, I'd recommend both the hotel and Rhodes in general.

Room Tip: The superior rooms with a sea view are lovely

We went to this hotel for my wife's 50th birthday, reason being it looked fantastic online and it was a great deal to. Sometimes that's not so when you eventually go there, well this hotel is more than its pictures and reviews. We can not fault this hotel, from start to finish it was lovely , The staff can't do enough for you and the place is spotless. Its a very relaxed place which was just what we were after. Its location is very good for venturein out, bus or hire car. The food is excellent and every day there is a theme to the food they are doing that evening. Freshly cooked right in front of you. I could go on but I won't, this hotel is the best iv been to in 28 yes of holidays. Many thanks to the Atlantica for a amazing week.... Paul & Sandra

Room Tip: The superior room is lovely. But I'm sure all rooms are of a high standard.
