Never ever wrote a review before! Presently here now! Felt I had to!! Anyway the hotel food is 4 star certainly not 5 star!! Plenty of choice but quality just ok! Have stayed in 5 star hotels all over Europe and have never ever been charged 25 euro per week to use the safe! Non refundable! Disgraceful! Only 1 plug in the whole of the room, totally inadequate! Bath and face towels are so thin and worn should have been discarded ages ago! I wouldn't even use these to wash my dog and finally to have to pay 10 euros per pool towel and only allowed to be changed three times a week not good! No doubt the environment will be used for the pool towel excuse! Even though the hoses are on to water the lawns! Entertainment was average! However the Drifters were fabulous! It's those small things that let this place down big time!!

Dear reviewer,

Thank you for your feedback.

Regarding the safe charge, is an additional fee that is not included in your holiday cost and of course always advertised as a facility with extra charge.

I am sorry you felt the food did not live up to your personal expectations. We are proud to be one of the highest rated hotels within our category and our gastronomy is rated as excellent from the high majority of our guests.

We would like to thank you and hope that you will visit an Atlantica hotel sometime again in the future.

My partner and I have just got back from a week's holiday at the resort.

We chose a half-board package and stayed in one of the hotel suites.

On first arrival the hotel seemed spectacular, we were greeted with champagne, staff seemed very accommodating, although we were offered a choice of placing a ticket on our cases for them to be taken to our rooms, otherwise you take them yourself - being a 5* resort should it not be standard to carry your cases instead of returning back out to the front of the hotel to collect your case from where you were demanded to leave it?

The only things we couldn't fault about the resort was the cleanliness and the cleaners themselves are actually the kindest and most helpfull staff on the resort!
The pool area is also beautiful and set in a perfect location, extremely peaceful, maybe a little too quiet and subdude at times. But still very relaxing.
The entertainment can be quite funny and enjoyable.
There is a very accomodating gent from Rodos Cars in the reception area. We rented cars from him on a couple of occasions, he was more than helpful with directions and getting the best deal for what you require.

The food in the restaurant is extremely over salted or sometimes tasteless - We are not fussy eaters in any way, we are both "foodies" and enjoy all kinds of food but the food here certainly isn't up to scratch. Also be warned you must wear trousers for your dinner buffet guys! Not for breakfast or lunch though which seemed rather odd? Same buffet - different time of day. The restaurant staff were quite rude to us on several occasions and we were offered drinks once when we were sat at the table.

We also ate in one of the A La Carté restaurants where again the waiter was extremely rude and sarcastic towards my partner which made us both feel uncomfortable and personally we would say the food is EXTREMELY overpriced for what it is.

I could go on, there are unfortunately a few more negatives than positives about this hotel it walks the walk but certainly doesn't talk the talk.

We may be a younger couple and considered that maybe the hotel is more suitable for older clientel but in all fairness we have visited many hotels for our age and have stayed in some beautiful 5* hotels such as the Celtic Manor in South Wales, and it doesn't even compare.

Overall based on the staff and the food it's pretty much a dressed up 3-4* at a push hotel.

All points considered we still managed to have a good holiday, if you are going to book a holiday here I'd just advice you to go with an open mind that you may not get 5* service.

Originally chose this hotel as it came in as an excellent offer on a last minute deal, and on the strength of all the previous reviews!

We stayed for one week (beginning of June) in a Imperial Suite with limited sea view. No complaints at all, suites are very generous in size, but most importantly - the super king size bed and pillows (we had a choice of pillows) was very comfortable, also the whole suite was extremely quiet - no noise at all from other rooms, guests, corridors etc - therefore slept very very well! - Most important!!

TIP FOR LADIES - If you have long hair - hair dryers are not very powerfull and very very hot on highest setting - so you may want to take your own.

As this was a late booking, did not have a lot of time to 'research' area, hotel etc etc but was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and cleanliness of everything. Mykos the new A la Carte restaurant was superb. And overall we felt the buffet offered more choice and was better quality than Sandals resorts we have stayed in previously.

The hotel / resort offers as little or as much as you wish to do - there are plenty of trips, either thru Thomson or locally to discover. Car hire - very easy to do and to drive around. If you just want to relax then the hotel pool area offers a very relaxing atmosphere - getting a sun bed never a problem - yes it may be a very short walk from the pool side if you leave it too late - but you will never be more than 20 seconds away - really dont see the whole sun bed problem!

TIP - go on the walk with Anna - it really helps to give you an idea of the very local area, particularly if you fancy a change of beach, there is another beach less than 10 mins walk away which in my opinion is nicer and quieter than the beach at the hotel.

ATM ADVICE - if you use the local ATM (one closest to the hotel) it asks if you would like your currency coverted by the ATM bank or your issuing cards rate - choose your own cards rate - theres a HUGE difference - they were offering an exchange rate of 1.11 where as I received over 1.23 from my own card (Halifax Clarity) - big difference on 400 euros!

All Inclusive or Half Board????? - We originally decided to choose half board only as we are not big eaters and drinkers and we do like to get out and about and there are some lovely tavernas to eat at - especially the ones down on the beach (go on walk or ask Anna where these are). However we changed our minds and payed 30 euros each for 6 days to go AI - we actually got 7 days at the AI rate, as this included 2 visits to the A la Carte (which we did end up paying more for but was well worth it) - we also had one evening out so 4 evening meals in the buffet was fine but if we had been staying any longer we would have been a little bored of the buffet every evening - this is not a reflection on the food, just personal choice. You can also ask for the take out lunch which we did on 2 occasions, the lunch was fine - you are given a nice choice - it was perfect for a picnic.

I would say the average age of guests is mid forties + - so if you are up for really partying day in day out and all night - forget it - but I thought the evening atmosphere was just right. The entertainment was, well - entertaining! However the Golden Tones (Drifters / motown tribute were excellent) We happily stayed up till midnight most nights enjoying the variety of acts.

LAST TIP - if travelling with Thomson - take a private taxi transfer. Much quicker and nicer and on your last day you will get at least 1.5 hours extra to pack up and take your time.

To summarise - have travelled to many 5* hotels all over the world, thought this offered very good value for money without the long haul flight and jet lag - was just perfect for a week away.

Room Tip: If you enjoy spacious surroundings with lots of storage space and a huge comfy bed choose a suite

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks holiday in the Imperial Atlantic, it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary and we wanted to go somewhere really special and that's what we got, this is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in, the service is outstanding, staff including management are friendly, willing to please and extremely hard working, we cannot fault this hotel at all. Alexandra who mainly works in the pool bar area was so pleasant and always had a smile even tho she was busy all the time :-) entertainment was very good especially Julie and Andy, Andy is a great guitarist and Julie a beautiful singer, a very friendly and interactive couple. We would definitely return to this 5 * hotel in the future. :-) Thank you to all at the Imperial Atlantic Hotel for an extremely enjoyable holiday, look forward to seeing you all again :-)

My wife and I have now taken our 4th holiday at this lovely hotel, having been previously in 2009, 2012 and 2013. While the hotel is good we both feel that the standard has dropped considerably since our first visit. The overall food package was no where near as good as even last year which was also down on the previous years. The staff are lovely but the hotel has lost it's spark, there was no atmosphere or buzz about it. I think this us because there are more non British guests now, we were in the minority. We will be giving it a miss next year

Hotel was wonderful. We just read and sunbathed and relaxed for the whole week! Very clean, classy rooms with a mixture of views and facilities. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Food was delicious at every sitting, with loads of choice and variety. Lots of extras like the spa and gym and the beautiful pool and private sun beds. Virtually on the beach. Good entertainment in the evenings. Not a hotel for people who like to go out for a wonder around the local shops.... There are none! But the hotel is all we wanted. Slight issue with us were the cats wandering around the outside restaurant patio. Supposedly they are banned but staff ignored them.

Room Tip: All the rooms have their advantages. Depends whether you want a balcony, pool outside you room, sunb...
