“It Just Gets Better and Better!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

We visited the superb Atlantica Imperial for the 3rd time to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and once again, we had the most amazing holiday. On arrival we're greeted with cold flannels and a chilled glass of bubbly. The check in process is very slick and by the time we got to our room our luggage had already been delivered and we were thrilled that our room had a panoramic view over the pretty bay and beach - well worth the extra.

Unlike some other couples hotels the main buffet restaurant is great with the option to eat either in or outside and the food is of an incredibly high standard (and I'm fussy!) There are two A la Carte restaurants and both are as good, if not better, that some London restaurants I've visited (take note Mr Pierre-White!). We particularly like to eat breakfast in the Atrium which is very stylish, as is the rest of the hotel, rooms and communal areas alike. The staff are charming and cannot do enough for you and it is quite obvious that the work incredibly hard to make sure every guest has the best holiday possible. We would like to say a particular thank you to Christos, Ivan and his team at the pool bar, Viron (our favourite waiter) and the lovely young man who is the assistant restaurant manager (Georgios I think?!) who went out of his way to make our anniversary really special (thank you for educating us about Greek wine!) A real highlight is Gala night which takes place on a Tuesday. The guests are treated to a fantastic night of sparklers, fireworks, music and dancing and Christos Georganas (the excellent hotel manager) brings all his staff out and sings their praises which gives us, the guests, a chance to show our appreciation. This hotel manages to do a very difficult thing and that is provide a grown up, stylish environment, coupled with a element of fun, and my husband and I love it, which is no mean feat as we're very hard to please. A testament to this is the enormous number of people we recognise from previous years, which is pretty unusual, and almost everyone we met and got chatting too have also booked to come back - enough said frankly. We have already booked to return in 2015 and are counting the days until we return to our little Greek paradise. Thank you and well done once again.

Room Tip: Opt for a Superior Sea View - well worth it.

Our Atlantica Imperial Resort holiday began with being greeted with cool flannels and a chilled glass of bubbly. Despite our late arrival, a buffet meal including hot food, was laid out ready for us and we ate while our luggage was taken to our rooms.
All facilities were clean and tidy and all staff were very friendly and helpful.
The manager was always around, talking to guests and checking that everyone was happy with their stay.
There were a choice of sunbeds, either poolside or on the grassy cliff overlooking the bay. Loungers were reserved early by guests by the pool but there were always other loungers available on the grass if you got there later.
It was a short walk into Kolimbia where there were a range of shops and tavernas.
The restaurant food at the hotel was EXCELLENT! A wide range of choices every lunchtime and evening and desserts being prepared in front of the guests.
Trips could be booked via the Thomson reps so we did the Rhodes by Knight and the boat trip to Symi. (Be warned it is nearly 2 hours each way on the boat to Symi but it was worth it).
We also hired a car from the car rental company based at the hotel. It was lovely to be able to see the whole island. We booked 3 days but 2 days was enough to see everything really.
We would return to this hotel and indeed, there were many people who had returned to stay there several times.
The manager and his staff are obviously doing an excellent job so a big THANK YOU to you all!

We stayed for 11 nights (arrived on 9 August) and visited with our daughters (aged 18 and 21). While the hotel 'set-up' is clearly aimed at couples, the hotel had quite a number of people staying with teenagers (but not younger children) I and would not let the 'couples' tag from stopping you from staying at this wonderful hotel. It has a contemporary feel to it, with a very relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and kept very clean, and all staff are friendly and professional. The food is of a high quality and a wide enough choice is available to withstand a degree of repetition, which is unavoidable I guess. The main restaurant managed superbly well by Athanasios. The pool is kept clean, and there are plenty of sun loungers (although they could do with upgrading) even for later risers, but if you want something poolside, I am afraid that the ridiculous lounger reservation game is played by the guests, which begins very early in the morning! This is a pity as, unless you play the game, you may not get a spot you prefer. The grounds of the hotel are kept beautifully tended, and the beachfront location gives you easy access to the wonderfully warm sea if you prefer. Evening entertainment is not too "in your face" and if that's not for you, there is always the hotel lobby bar, or relaxing lounge area. I should mention the Spa. My younger daughter jarred her back while at the hotel and the spa manager, Alexandros, was extremely helpful, professional, and reassuring in arranging for her to have a massage by one of the well qualified team, which worked wonders. Indeed, my wife and other daughter were so impressed they both went to the Spa! (which is very reasonably priced). And, finally, a word about the Hotel Manager, Christos. He is engaging and takes a genuine interest in the guests. He was kind enough to recommend some places to visit and eat when we visited Lindos. He has a great team at Kolymbia - and are a credit to him. I am sure we will return!

This a a beautiful hotel. We have just returned after a two week stay. We arrived in the early hours of the morning to be greeted with a glass of bubbly and a very speedy check in. We were upgraded to the imperial suites which I have to say we're fantastic. We had a living area down stairs and our bedrooms were upstairs. We had sandwiches and fruit in our room on arrival and another bottle of fizz very relaxing. There was entertainment by Anna if you wished to take part but was never in your face. Hotel was spotless and management always visible. Fantastic relaxing holiday. Food was great lots of variety and beautifully presented . Can not fault this hotel would recommend it to any one.

I had read all these reviews before I went and thought it sounded perfect and it was! As everyone says you are guaranteed a warm welcome and it has to be said that every single member of staff was delightful......we were even given a lovely send off when we left on the coach by the manager himself (and others) and it is these touches that mean you leave with an outstanding impression of this hotel.

Our room was stunning (room 132) practically on the beach!! We arrived in the dark and opened the curtains to the most spectacular view in the morning..... What a perfect start to the holiday. We were staying on a half board basis and had planned to upgrade to all inclusive once there but in the end we didn't feel the need to. We just had a light snack at lunch from the local supermarket and only water during the day because of the heat so we felt perfectly satisfied with that. I must say though the restaurant food was outstanding, so much choice and so much effort in the beautiful presentation. We liked to sit outside for dinner as we preferred the ambience at night (although I would have loved a little candlelight too). Unfortunately when we were there we didn't have any of the raved about entertainment apart from Il Divo but to be honest it really I didn't matter to us.

This was a most relaxing week in beautiful surroundings with a fantastic pool area and beautiful weather. The beach was just a short stroll away, although somewhat stony but we had read the reviews and packed aqua shoes which were very handy.

Thank you to Atlantica Imperial for ensuring that you maintain very high standards it made all the difference in ensuring our holiday experience was outstanding.

p.s. Pack the insect repellent we got bitten terribly on the last couple of days ha ha !!!!!!

The Atlantica Imperial Resort is a wonderful, luxurious hotel in a fantastic location in Rhodes. My husband and I stayed for two blissful weeks in a lovely, ocean facing room with private outdoor daybed, on an all-inclusive basis. The entertainment didn't appeal to us for the most part (with a few exceptions), but we were there to relax, so it didn't matter much (though I do wish they'd do away with the daily quizzes - it's not an English pub, afterall). The food was great and the staff were very friendly. We did two day tours - one to Lindos and Rhodes Town, and one to the island of Symi. I highly recommend both tours as you'll see a bit of the island, and have a lovely day out on the water and to see another spectacularly beautiful Greek island. We even saw dolphins in the Mediterranean!

My only criticism of the hotel is that I feel they shouldn't have daytime music/quizzes by the pool. At larger hotels where there is more than one pool, that's fine. But at this hotel, there is only one, and I would prefer it to be quiet so that I can enjoy reading or dozing. Daily music and quizzes can be annoying, and there's nowhere to escape to. In addition, the hotel can be a little more adventurous with their evening entertainment. Two weeks of nightly quizzes followed by live music gets a little 'samey' after a while. How about lectures, or classes (cooking, painting, etc)? Or provide some board games for guests?

Tips: Bring some cd's. Our room had a cd player in it (no iPod dock) and we didn't have any. The front desk had a handful to loan us, but they weren't our taste. Also, bring some sand shoes, or buy them for very cheap in the nearby town, as the beach is very rocky.

Room Tip: If you can afford to upgrade to the ocean facing larger rooms with private daybed, I highly recommen...

Dear guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Trip Advisor. We always value the feedback from our guests.

Thank you for your kind comments on our food, staff and facilities. We will pass these on to the teams in the relevant departments.

We are disappointed that you feel that the entertainment was not always to your personal taste. We do endeavour to try to suit a wide variety of tastes and different age groups. A small update for the next time, some days cooking classes given by our executive chef.

We are so pleased you enjoyed such a great holiday with us, and hope you take away many happy memories.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
