“An excellent hotel, great quality food, motivated friendly staff, great holiday”
Reviewed 5 August 2011

We loved this hotel, having stayed in several all british all inclusives before, this was, to us a cut above. The food was fab, different every night, - the same everyday at lunch but lots to choose from. only drawback is that the restaurants at this time of year are very busy but everyone was polite and wated to get what they wanted, the variety available at breakfast and dinner was amazing, im not sure i managed to try all of it but i had a go! Every meal there was at least one chef cooking a special, at breakfast this could be real bacon (rare in Greece!) or mussels and seafood at dinner. all delicious. We tried the a la carte asian restaurant some dishes were lovely others mediocre.

We hadnt intended to use the Kidsclub as much as we did. Crazy Chloe and Cool Colin were brilliant, by far the best room leaders I have ever come across, they are working so hard all day and their communication with children of all ages was impressive, well done. Our children demanded to keep going back!

Entertainment wasnt really our thing, I do agree with a previous reviewer though that the team did work hard all day and put on a show at night, We enjoyed the pool party best, shoud have been run more often, this was great fun.

Rooms were lovely with good bathrooms and sliding divider doors useful,

I would say about twenty percent of the clientele were British so there was an international feel to the hotel which i found to be friendly. obviously it gets more busy with children and teens at this time of year and we found it noisier in the second week.

In short I cannot find fault with this hotel - staff were friendly and motivated. It exceeded my expectations on every level, highly recommended.

Just came back from the Aegean Blue ( 27 July 11 - 04 Aug 11) and loved the place! We stayed in one of the family rooms (One King size bed and two singles). The beds were extremely comfortable (memory foam mattresses and also brand new!). The towels and beds were changed every day. The main part of the room had a partition which separated the twin beds and terrace.
The complex has only three blocks and for once we barely had to queue for anything. The food was fantastic, even the kids loved trying new things. There was an endless selection each day and I think we all put on pounds trying it all!! At lunchtime we ate at the restuarant next to the pool which also served lots of salads, chicken and pizzas!
Pools were VERY clean and tidy. The only minor bad point was that the water in them was freezing but we have come across that more often in other hotels too.
The Hotel is next to the Pebbly/sandy beach and is good for snorkeling. Make sure you use the free pedalo every day! (Book it in reception!)
Dont pay the 50 Euros for a check out room on your last day. We asked reception and they provided a free room with towels to shower in at no extra expense. (Book it early though!)
It is a little windy at this location and we had to tie our towels to the sunbed on a coupe of days....but that is being picky!
All the staff at the hotel were fabulous, they best we have ever experienced. Seva and Diana at the pool bar were always smiling and joking making everyone feel welcome. Now.....the only negative part of the holiday...The entertainment! The Animation Team worked hard during the day but they also did the majority of the night time entertainment and sorry guys....it just didn't work! By the time each show was halfway through, most of the audience had left! The external shows (2 for the week we were there) were good and the kids liked them.
We took the small train/bus into Kolymbia town (Just outside the hotel at the orange sign. It is pretty small and has the usual tourist shops and a few pubs.
All in all though we had a great time at this hotel, excellent food, service and weather. It is one of the few hotels we would not hesitate to visit again. Mant thanks to all the hard working staff there!

Room Tip: We asked Thompson for a pool or sea view but never got it!

We were here in October for a week. A great hotel, but I only wish the water in the pool was heated ... just too cool! Even the kids had trouble with the temerature!

We had all inclusive, and we thought the food was good, especially the fish. If I have to put my finger on something, it must be that the buffet could have varied slightly more from day to day.
Overall we had a nice experience, good service and a great area! And we climed the two tops! The climb to the monestary is recomended!!

Hotel perfect, bedrooms stunning with amazing bathrooms. Overall the customer service exceptional and outstanding, could not recommend more highly. The only thing I would say was being all inclusive the wine not great, however the wine list superb. The evening entertainment outstanding incredible work and talent put into it.

We are about to leave the Club Atlantica Aegean Blue for home after 2 weeks All Inclusive with a 5 year old. We are a mature family, Mr and Mrs are in their 40's. Having travelled a lot on business and holidays to many destinations the holiday has been fantastic. Yes you get the usual towel wars at 7 in the morning but so what. Unless the EU passes a law banning such practise and a new EU wide anti pool bed reserve police is created just get on with it and accept it happens. It did not spoil out holiday one bit. The staff could not be more helpful, the variation and choice of food is excellent (unless you are a typical meat and two veg kinda person so stay at home or learn about different cuisine!)

Hired a car from the hotel, had 2 days exploring the island (we have been to rhodes before so ventured to some of the more remote regions).

The evening entertainment was typical of european hotels, the team did a really good job, again variety and also some external acts came in to show their talent. Give the poor guys a break some of you on trip advisor, they spend all day entertaining the kids and then come up with good entertainment in the evening for the rest of us. You WOULD NOT get that in a UK hotel!

Altogether had a fantastic time, junior can now swim (with arm bands), on his own and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel as a great place to spend a couple of weeks and have an absolutely fantastic time.

Julian and Elaine from Berkshire

I vistited this hotel with my Boyfriend, his Dad and sister (13), we arrived in the early hours of the morning and where taken straight to our rooms - unfortunatly they gave us the wrong ones so so we had to swap!
The room we did get was on the ground floor which was all well and nice aprt from an ants nest in the bathroom! so yet again we switched rooms which the staff where very helpful with. The room we did get was nice enough, and vey clean and tidy. As we where all inclusive we were given the little bands to wear, there is a good selection of cocktails and juices to choose from and the bar staff are relatively friendly - though they dont really show much attention to you. The food was amazing! so much choice and very well cooked, also id recomend going to the ' lagoon' restraunt - really nice and the staff are lovely. The main thing that let this hotel down was the entertainment, unless you are a child under 10 then you will be bored. There is a basketball court and we requested the basketball from the ''fun box'' 3 times only to learn that they didnt have a pump for the ball!! the night time entertainment is terrible, its half in german so you cant really follow whats going on, the dancing is awful, very slack and unrehersed... i would expect more from such a highly reccomended hotel. The beach isnt the best, very rocky and crowded, but if you do find a spot its got lovely mountain views and friendly atmosphere. The loctation ofd the hotel is poor its very out of the way from EVERYTHING. Its about half an hours walk to the village which doesnt scream much, few half empty cocktail; bars and tourist shops but i would recoment a trip into Rhodes itself because it is a beautiful place and with lotsof things to do away from the hotel, in which we spent most of our days by the pool and trying to find our way around the place without getting lost, and wondering to ourselfs ''surely where missing out on something here''.

Room Tip: Try not to get a bottom floor room - too many bugs!

We recently spent 11 nights here (couple, mid 30s) and had a good time. The hotel is geared towards families and children, which we were well aware of, but we still had a very good time. The hotel itself is spotless, the staff are friendly and courteous and, most importantly, the weather was excellent!

We went for a partial sea room (room 207) which was very good. The rooms are comfortable and the maids do a good job.

The food was OK - what you expect for an all inclusive Greek resort. Breakfasts were superb with a good selection for all, while lunch wasn't great in all honesty. As the hotel was full (1200 people) it got very busy indeed. It's a shame they don't open the main restuarant for lunch. The food on offer was also very samey after 2 or 3 days.

Evening dinner was OK, although we did eat out a few times. Nikos, along with the main busier areas of the resort, are a 20 minute walk away (or you can get the resort train!). Nikos I would highly recommonend. Just don't go to Statues across the road if the hypnotist is on! About as believable as the tooth fairy!

The entertainment in the hotel is, as you would expect, very poor and quite cringeworthy, But again, that's the same all over.

The pools are clean if a little noisy, although there are grassy areas if you want a bit of peace. Just expect to get early before all the beds go. People hang their towels from the umbrellas to reserve their space. All very sad but funny watching people waiting for the sunbeds to be unlocked. Get down for 7:45 am - my top tip!

As a couple, we enjoyed it. The weather made it for us. Some people may prefer the couples hotel nearby if you want peace and fancy playing a bit of bingo.

* Final thing, we pre- booked the asian restaurant for our first proper night's stay as it was my birthday. Specil thanks to Yvonne in customer relations. She is a great asset for the hotel.
