“Lovely Holiday”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

wonderful welcome and check in.genuine friendly staff. kids found friends easily, we hardly saw them all fortnight. we hired a car for three days, the car hire man from the hotel was very helpful, showing us where to go.

and took a bus to Rhodes one day.buses go earlier then times stated. bed extremely comfortable. this was definitely a family hotel, day time entertainment mostly for children.entertainment team were very popular. water park was well patrolled with life guards, imaculate and clean
bar staff lovely, fantastic choice of cocktails and other drinks.
lovely food, picnic lunches a bonus for days out. no upset stomaches! staff friendly.
we all loved this holiday, my eleven year old didn't want to leave. sixteen year old also loved being here. we had a fantastic holiday, came home feeling refreshed and relaxed. Thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and strongly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: we requested a quiet room on top floor. we had a top floor with sea and pool view.perfect

Brilliant from the moment we arrived, champagne greeting as we came through the door. Check in and room allocation swift and stress free. rooms very clean and spacious,
Staff were all very friendly and attentive.
All inclusive restaurant dished up genuinely nice tasty food, the best I've had from a European all inclusive.
Stayed in mid April, weather hot and sunny every day.
Beach was dissapointing, very pebbly and unsightly concrete and breezeblock structures, but there where plenty of sunbeds by the pool
Resort was only just beginning to open at this time of year, there were some Taverna's and gift shops open about 1km up the road.
Taxi cost to Rhodes old town about 25 euro, there is a very limited bus service to Rhodes and Lindos both costing 3.50 each way
Overall very good holiday at a very modest price. Would not hesitate to rebook this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for pool and sea view

I stayed at the Atlantica for week at Easter and it was fabulous! The Greek staff are so friendly and welcoming. The pools were a little chilly but it didn't stop my daughter playing in them for most of the week. The waterpark was tons of fun and the kids club was really good too. As we were early in the season it was not too busy and the food quality and choice was spot on...they even had a kids food bar and tv which my daughter loved. My only grumble is from an adult point of view there wasn't much entertainment in the evenings unless you sat outside by the stage and got bit by the mosquitos! There is plenty of room in the lobby for a piano/small stage area for some light entertainment. Also agree with other reviewers about hiring a car as buses aren't very regular.

Stayed at Aegean Blue for 1 week in October 2013 with our 2 children aged 16 and 12. Absolutely fantastic, we couldn't fault a thing. Room was spacious, immaculate and cleaned on a daily basis. Pools and Water park were everything we could have wished for and had something for us all. Food - there was plenty of choice, something for everyone and the staff were so welcoming and efficient. During the daytime we ate at the snack bar which again catered for everyone's tastes. The cocktails were nice to relax with in the evenings whilst watching the entertainment which we thoroughly enjoyed, especially the Beatles tribute band! This holiday was the best we had ever had and would recommend this holiday 100%!!! We would like to book again this year but because of the age of our children we are unable to have a family room and would have to have 2 twin rooms which is something we wouldn't want to do,so very disappointed.

We visited the Atlantica Aegean Blue during the Easter school holidays with our daughter and her family. We also took our other granddaughter making a party of seven.

It was our first holiday in Rhodes and we had little knowledge of what to expect. We needn’t have worried because we had a great time! Although we experienced a couple of rain showers and a few overnight claps of thunder, the days were generally hot (about 23C) although the swimming pools were bracing to say the least. It was also quite breezy and rather chilly during the evenings. Hence if you’re going early in the season, take something warm for the evenings!

This hotel is very, very good. There are loads of water related activities – indeed a water park (free entry for guests) adjacent to the hotel. The food is excellent and the drinks included on the all inclusive package are very authentic and, without exception, readily available.

We were not particularly impressed with the Lagoon Asian Restaurant – here quantity of food offered was not too great and nor was the speed of service. Not sure we would bother to book into this facility again.

There are loads of Thomson staff on hand to help, entertain and advise and the hotel staff are very pleasant and polite.

Rooms were good but for the telly addicts out there – forget the box for the duration of your holiday – there is only so much BBC World you can take.

A bus stop exists right outside the hotel with services to Lindos and Rhodes Town. We went to the latter (about 45 minutes) at a cost of 3.5 Euros. No charge was made for the kids (5 and under). Rhodes Town is split into new and old areas – personally I preferred the old area. There are however some flashy and modern clothes shops in the new area.

Diagoras Airport was a bit dodgy - lots of toilets out of action, as were the escalators and lifts. In addition only about 50% of the interior lighting was switched on. No interior public address system so flights / boarding not called. You need to keep a keen eye on the monitors to discover what is going on! I'm guessing this might have something to do with the difficult economic situation from which Greece is currently suffering.

Room Tip: Rooms with a pool view seem to get the sun on the balconies until mid-afternoon.

We stayed here on the hotels first week of opening (5th - 12th April) and were not disapointed. The welcome we received was wonderful with a speedy check in and then a golf buggy ride to our room. The hotel had aslo opened up the restaurant so we were able to have something to eat after a long day of travelling.

The room we were in (1311) was large and consisted of a huge bathroom with separate shower, bath with shower over, wc and large sink area. A large area with at least a king size very comfortable bed, dressing table, large tv with a few english channels, fridge with complimentary drinks (not resocked) and tea/coffee making facilities. Sliding doors to the rear of the room with two single beds one on either side, then sliding doors to a patio area with a table and four chairs and as we were on the ground floor two sun loungers.
This was cleaned daily with fresh towels if we needed them.

The food was AMAZING with a very good variety which we all thoroughly enjoyed and it was nice to try different things each morning and evening. Everything was clearly labelled and the restaurant was well laid out. It had a different food culture each night as an extra option.

We didnt eat in the restaurant at lunchtime but made use of the poolside snack bars, these were lovely with a wide variety from fresh pizza, chips, salad, fruit, paninis, sandwiches etc.

The Entertainment was really good, with a mixture of tribute bands and the Reps evenings, we enjoyed them all - the last night was the best with a Beatles tribute act, Really Well Done to them :)
They also did poolside games if you wanted to join in you could but there was no pressure.

The drinks were a selection of cocktails ( all really lovely - try them all!! ) beer, spirits, juices and freshly made coffees and LOVELY hot chocolates!

They do have Free Wifi but we didnt use this as it was a strictly no gadgets holiday!!

They have a well stocked shop on site where you can get most things. This is also where you get your pool towels from, you are given a ticket and can then change them twice, there was no charge or deposit.
The cost of the safe was 20 euros but good for peace of mind for our important bits and bobs.

The pools were great although a little chilly when you first got in!! But we found if you kept active you soon got used to it.
There were always plenty of sun beds and certainly no need to be up at silly o'clock to reserve them!! Although this may well change as the season goes on.

We had one trip out A Tale of 2 1/2 Cities and loved the majority of this. The hotel will provide a packed lunch in a cool bag - order the day before and then you choose in the morning what you would like, it includes sandwiches, fruit, cake, crisps and drinks, a really great idea.

This was a fantastic week for us and we cannot fault the hotel or staff and would definately look to return.

Room Tip: Upper floors will probably have a slightly better view
