We stayed at this hotel 2 weeks at the end of May 2014. It was a very pleasant stay. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Communicating with them was easy they understood and spoke perfectly English, and also German. Room and hotel over all was very clean. In the mornings I even saw cleaner cleaning car road and washing sidewalks :)
Location of hotel was perfect equally distanced from the city of Rhodes and Lindos. To both places plenty of buses with reasonable price were stopping next to a hotel. Also one of the best beach Tsampika beach was very close and very good to go with bus. We also rented a car for 5 days from the hotel and managed to explore most of the island with that time, as the hotel lied almost in the middle of the island. I also liked a Kolymbia beach that was about 300 meters from hotel. It was very good for snorkeling.
Best part of the hotel was dinner. Breakfast was usual and nothing special. Lunch we didn’t have because we were always exploring the island and eating elsewhere. But the dinner was something that we were waiting especially. There were plenty of choices and lots of new things to try. At this point special thanks go to Yiannis the hotel chef who made it all happen. Every day there were lots of different foods that you could choose from, starting from cold plates and ending with various main course selections. There was also good choice for vegetarian food and also something gluten free every day. Also every day at least on main course was Greece food and chefs encouraging talk and introduction of different foods made me try lots of new things and I never had to disappoint. Also for people who are afraid to try new things there were lots of things to eat. Chef is thinking and taking care so that no one will be hungry.
I would recommend this hotel if you are looking a place to stay at Rhodes.

What can I say.
We have stayed at this hotel for about 8 years, on occasion twice in one year. We keep coming back every time to this hotel for many reasons.
We have seen many changes over the years and they keep on getting better.
This year May 2014 saw the 3rd pool with water features for the kids. Reception, bar area and lounge have been refreshed and has new furniture. The reception is brighter and looks less cluttered. The taverna poolside has been refreshed and looks brighter. Some rooms have been spruced up and made fresher, some rooms are now family rooms. The hotel is and has always been excellent in cleanliness. the staff are always friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them from the cleaners to the owner himself. if they can help they will if not they know someone who can. This hotel caters for families and for couples or single holiday makers. To say we are the foreigners there the staff understand most of what we say, I feel like we are coming home each time we go.
We had one problem on our last evening but were given an explanation that the problem was known and was being rectified. Knowing the staff there I know it will not be a problem for long.
The dining room at the hotel has now had all new softer chairs and a new brighter feel to it. The restaurant manager is new and very helpful and can be seen to help out when busy. He is always on hand to help with any queries or problems you may have. Food is plentiful and various. OK the food is sometimes not what we would have in the UK but, this year we had cottage pie and it was lovely. They do try to accommodate all tastes and choices. You have to understand they have a lot of different nationalities to cater for. I for one applaud there efforts. Also I like the chance to try dishes I would probably not have here in the UK.
The general manager/Managing Director Savvas will do all he can to make your stay the best for you and your family. If you have any problems he will always do his best to help.
We had a couple of problems with health this year and with the help of restaurant staff we were well again in no time at all. Good old remedies. Hasten to add it was not the food that was our problem.
Within the hotel you can hire a car and this year we hired a small car for three days for 20 euros per day. There is nearly always a deal you can have for hiring cars. The car park at the hotel is a gravel car park and this has also been extended this year.
Also at the hotel for the sport minded people they have a tennis court, crazy golf for the kids, small nets for playing football, pool table in the taverna, basket ball nets, table tennis, dartboard, an outside pool table. 2 pools and the 3rd pool for the slides etc.
If you have an occasion like a birthday, anniversary or anything you wish to celebrate, just let the management know and they will help if they can.
A 7 min walk takes you down to the very clean beach where there is a taverna that offers food and drink.
There is a supermarket adjoined to the hotel and you can get anything you need from gifts, food, toys, clothes, drinks, cigarettes/cigars, lotions and mosquito repellent.
Bus services to Rhodes, Tsampika beach and Lindos are at the entrance to the hotel and are frequent. Depending on time of year they could be up to 10 to 20 minutes later than timetable.
The main eucalyptus street in Kolymbia itself has a lot of bar/restaurants, shops, general supermarkets and apothecary shops. In Kolymbia there is a doctor as well should you need one. Side streets also have shops etc.
Mosquitoes are a problem every year there. I came home with about 20 bites, my hubby about 5, even the local people can get bites so its not just because we are English. Have tried virtually everything under the sun to stop them but to no avail. This does not happen to everyone, I am just unfortunate that I suffer with them.
Now looking forward to the next holiday there.

Room Tip: Some rooms have sea view, some have field and mountain views, some have road and olive grove views.

We have just returned for a one week stay at the Kolymbia Star Hotel in Rhodes .We really enjoyed our stay and cant thank the staff enough for putting on a great Holiday .Arriving late at night we found sandwiches ,fruit and a drink in the room waiting for us .This was typical of the level of attention to detail by the team at Kolymbia Star .The rooms were spotless and more than adequate .The food was excellent and so was the whole dining expirience overseen by Panos and Yiannis the Chef . All the staff could not do enough for you from Barbera in reception with her welcoming smile,to the bar staff cleaners and everybody .
There are in fact 3 pools but is for Families and has water slides etc .There is a main pool /bar area and a little pool wich is shaded by trees and this was our favourite .Everything we saw in this Hotel was spotless .This is the cleanest Hotel we have stayed in Greece and we would definately would come back again .The Bus service to Rhodes and Lindos was supposed to be hit and miss ,but was on time for us and very cheap .Both places are definately worth a visit .
Once again an excellent hotel and we enjoyed our stay here

Just got back from a weeks holiday and stayed at this hotel,
The reception area was nice clean and fresh, we was greeted by one of the staff who took our cases to our room, witch was very clean and overlooked the pool,
All the staff here couldnt do enough for us they where very help full,
The food was also excellent,
There was a lovely young man on the bar named Manwel, such a pleasant and helpful person,
The Hotel manager was also really nice as we should of checked out of out room for 12pm but we didnt leave the Hotel till 9pm that night,
We asked him if we could keep the room a few hours longer and he kindly let us.
I think that would be down to the Hotel not being really busy at the time we where there,
The only thing that let it down really was the lack of entertainment, but again i out that down to there not being many guests, think it will get better as there season starts to kick in,
Overall a fantastic place loved it

Our family (2 adults, 2 children) spent our holidays in July 2013. Rooms were large and clean, food was OK, but nothing special-suitable for continental taste, staff was very nice. We rented car there in hotel, its recommended choice - competitive price and complete insurance included. We also changed reservation for a car with no additional fee. Evening shows were quite funny, mini disco was also there.
The hotel is good ratio price / performance, I checked many offers around but there was best price for 4star hotel. I saw one review of this hotel where stated that this hotel is for eastern Europe people - yes there is a lot of east, but also west people.
Disadvantages: The coast to swim in the sea is 10 minutes far to walk - one coast is closer but is not ok. The shopping street (promenade) is far away - Eucaliptus street but there is small city turist train which drivers around to get there.
There were no aqua slides for children, (like in hotels opposite) but we didnt miss that a lot.

We have travelled in July and October to this resort and hotel. We have been to this hotel on numerous occasions and for many years. We have always had friendly and helpfull staff. Every time we go it is as if we are going home as they recognise you and give hugs and are made very welcome every time.
The rooms we have stayed in are very clean and the maid service clean every day so that you always feel it is the first time in the room. They are very helpfull and will go that extra mile for you. If you are late arriving there is now water, fruit, 1 cob in the fridge awaiting you, although a cob is ok but sometimes it is not enough and the surrounding tavernas are closed after 11pm. Especially if you have not had an inflight meal.

The only regret is that they still do not accept any credit card for payment/s. This would be very helpfull and save time having to find an ATM machine and one that is working.
Would also be nice to have room service not just for drinks but for any kind of service, as this a 3/4 star hotel.

The choice is now all inclusive, as well as, breakfast and evening meal.

Room Tip: All rooms are of the same quality. Some rooms have pool views and you can see the sea if you turn to...

Just returned from spending two weeks at the hotel and have to say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Managing Director Savvas and all his staff made us very welcome. The grounds, public areas and accommodation were kept spotless. The buffet style meals were varied and ample. The hotel was fully booked but hardly heard a sound after midnight. The Greek Night entertainment was very good especially the staff contribution. With public transport at the supermarket shop you can visit the main tourist areas Lindos and Rhodes Town for approx £3 one way as opposed to £30 or more by taxi. Speaking of taxi's £32 form airport to hotel.
