My wife and I spent 5 nights at this nice B&B between Positano and Amalfi. The family was more than helpful and always made sure we were having a good time. The breakfast was always perfect with an incredible view from the terrace. The homemade pastries made by the wife were excellent, especially when paired with a small toast with their homemade lemon marmalade. The rooms were spotless everyday when we returned. We had a wonderful time and will certainly return in the future when visiting the Amalfi coast.

From the first moment we stepped through the gate, Antonio and his daughter Daniela made us feel like long lost relatives and welcomed us into their beautiful home with open arms. My wife mentioned that it was the first hotel/bed and breakfast which looked just as beautiful in real life as it does on the website. The whole place was spotless and very homely, a perfect place to stage your honeymoon. The room we had (Pamela) overlooked the sea and had a lovely balcony which we could enjoy watching the sunset come down whilst having a glass of the region's wine in the evening. The room itself was spacious and unbelievably clean. The breakfast's were always served with genuine smiles from Daniela and her dad, Antonio with delicious pastries, a cappuccino and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice which set our day off in the right way. If we were struggling on knowing how to get anywhere, Antonio with the help of Daniela to translate, drew maps for us which never failed to get us to our destination! We couldn't have been more thankful to Daniela and her parents for making putting us in the right mood before we discovered the rest of what the remarkable Amalfi Coast had to offer.

We have already vowed that we will return to the coast, and when we do, we will be booking up at Il Rifugio di Ela again for sure.

We were so very pleased with our choice of Il Rifugio di Ela. The place is immaculate. It is beautiful. And Ela and her husband are incredibly friendly. The food they serve for breakfast is made from fruit from their garden. The amount of care they put into every detail in the B&B is amazing. If we ever went back to the Amalfi coast, we would stay here again without hesitation. It was the best room we had in our two weeks in Europe - by far. Another thing very nice is that it is 5km up the cliffs from the main Amalfi Drive, which is now packed with buses, cars, and motorcycles. Il Rifugio was truly the refuge it claimed to be. Quiet, calm, peaceful, and gorgeous.

Il Rifugio di Ela, is set in a good location if you are looking to explore the Amalfi Coast, as it is only 5km from Amalfi, and 14km from Positano.

The hotel is family run, with all the family being very friendly and welcoming, however only the son speaks english if you do not speak Italian.

They have a pretty garden area where you can sit out and enjoy breakfast, or a few drinks, surrounded by lemon, mandarin & kiwi trees. The breakfast is a typical Italian continental breakfast, and we were served the most amazing lemon sponge cake.......which we had to get the recipe for, before we left.

The rooms are comfortable and clean, and our room had a large terrace area, with sunloungers etc.
