We originally booked this hotel due to the positive reviews and were not disappointed. Our only problem was finding the place as the directions and location given on the internet were not accurate. ( I do find Goggle maps to be less than helpful. They show walkways a along the Amalfi coast as streets and roads. Get a real map as soon as you can!)
This hotel is 1200 feet above the sea with great views. It is about 4 miles from the town of Amalfi. You can drive (park along the road before getting to the town center or pay a fortune in parking fees) or take the bus into town. Amalfi is one of the better towns on the coast. Great old church there and good hiking possibilities. More nightlife than other small towns on the coast. Fast boat to Capri or Positano can be booked from Amalfi. Also easy to get to Ravello.
The hotel itself has lovely rooms with beautiful tiling. Rooms are spacious with sea views and the Bathroom is way above the usual European standard.
The owners are very helpful and serve a good breakfast on a terrace overlooking the whole coast. We originally planned to stay for two nights but extended it to 5 nights.
At 60 Euro a night it is a bargain!
This hotel deserves the good reviews it has received in the past.
The last day we drove around the coast to Sorrento. Not nearly as beautiful but certainly big and noisy. Not the character of the Amalfi coast we were looking for.
