We had booked a 3 night stay at this hotel in June for a September visit. Two weeks before our trip we were notifed that they were overbooked and had cancelled our reservation. The Bazzoni proceeded to book us at a B & B in another town with fewer amenities. Although the owners of the B & B were delightful, they did not offer a pool and it was a 1.5 mile walk to any restaurants and to the town. The Bazzoni also proceeded to bill us for their rate of 120 euros per night in stead of the B & B rate of 90 euros per night. It took 6 weeks after we returned to receive the difference. We were told that they often do this when they have tours come through or reservations are made for longer period of time. I would not recommend making a reservation at this hotel. We had reserved a total of 4 rooms.

Room Tip: Did not get to see the rooms.

The hotel had been recently painted, the decoration pleasant if a little sparse. The hotel had a family atmosphere despite being reasonably large. The food was very good, served in a buffet style. No need to have pasta the whole time (or at all) if you dont wish to! The deserts were excellent. I had a lake view, well worth it in my opinion. Tremezzo is very well situated for exploring Lake Como. Hotel Bazzoni is next to a local supermarket with the boat port, bus stop and pharmacy all within about 50 yards. There was even a UK shaver point! Unfortunately there is a flight of stairs to reach the lifts. Overall the hotel exceeded my expectations.

Room Tip: Go for a room with a lake view and enjoy your balcony.

we stayed for a week at the end of September. we went with Inghams on an 'all inclusive' type deal. The location was outstanding - we had a view of fantastic lake Como from our balcony. The food was very good. Possibly the best ravioli we have ever had. there was a good choice each evening and as much as you could eat. The bus and ferry stop were outside the hotel so it was ideal for exploring the area. The staff were very helpful and the the room was clean and comfortable. All in all a wonderful, memorable week and we were sorry to have to leave!

Room Tip: we paid the upgrade for a lake view

We enjoyed our week at the Bazzoni Hotel. Make sure you request a room with a lake view as sunrise/sunset is stunning. For me, the mattress on the bed was quite hard. I've read various remarks, but overall I thought the food was good. We stayed half board and I enjoyed the evening buffet. We had positive experiences with the Bazzoni staff as they were polite and helpful throughout the week. As a base, the location of this hotel is excellent, there is a buzz in terms of the atmosphere (not the wasps!) and I'd definitely recommend it. The Bazzoni Hotel is beside a bank, three lovely cafe/restaurants, boat/ferry terminal, tourist information, bus stop and butcher shop (where you can stock up on water/snacks and purchase bus tickets) However I found the staff at the butcher shop (beside Bazzoni Hotel) rude, unhelpful and impatient. You can also buy your bus tickets from the newsagents close to the Grand Hotel Cadenabbia (5/10 min walk approx from Bazzoni)

Room Tip: lake view with balcony / terrace. However these rooms are at the front of the hotel so it may be qu...

Although we had secured our reservation over 2 months in advance, 2 weeks before our trip our group was informed that they were overbooked and our reservation would not be honored. After working with booking.com, they agreed to find us another hotel. The published rate of this hotel was almost 1/2 the cost at the Bazzoni yet they charged us the original amount. When we stopped by to speak personally with the manager. He said we need to deal with booking.com directly and would do nothing to improve the situation. So if you book here, know you are taking a risk. They feel no obligation to honor their reservations.

Chanced on Andrea from Dublin's "Don't stay here" review day before we were booked to fly out for week at this hotel. Almost cancelled, but glad I did not. Lovely room overlooking lake. Not big, but big enough; excellent bathroom. Pool small and tucked away at back but clean, cool and usually empty (of people). Very handy for bus, boat and two or three local restaurants. We were on half board - great breakfasts; dinner mixed - vg starters and dreamy desserts, but main course standard hotel fare - rather boring. Charge of 3 euro for bottle of water - only water available at dinner - bit of a rip off. but weather was fabulous.

Room Tip: Make sure you get lake view; avoid rooms at back.
