“Stunning views across the lake, great staff”
Reviewed 20 September 2013

We went on an Inghams all-inclusive package which is the only way to visit Lake Como ,brilliant views of the lake ,great food ,attentive staff and all in all a romantic way to see the area. We were lucky that a well produced open-air concert and a separate fire-work display were done on our week there. this hotel is ideal for trips to Menaggio , Lenno and the picturesque lake edge towns well served by ferries. Our tip... give Lake Lugano a miss ( mostly ugly modern buildings). A bonus for me was spotting a long-held first -hand desire to see the original " Amour et Psyche " sculpture in Tremezzo . The nearby gardens on-site are a must as well. Some small negative " whinges " ,our air-con unit leaked daily and a large Brit wedding party were loud and inconsiderate for at least two nights.

Room Tip: A lake view room is more expensive and not really essential as breakfasts were a real treat each mor...

This was an older style Italian hotel, 3 star, so don't expect a 5 star hotel. It was beautiful inside in the authentic old Italian style, marble floors, wrought iron work, huge chairs in the lounge. Everything was spotlessly clean. Good choice of meals - lots of salads, fewer hot choices, but a good variety. Views from the front rooms overlooking Lake Como were magnificent. Access to river transport was just across the road. The road was very busy but there were several zebra crossings close by. Cars were quite willing to stop. The main pool and smaller pool were clean. The grassy area round the pool could have been better, and there were no cushions for the sun beds. Staff in the hotel were friendly, helpful and always smiling. Although popular with tourists (not a place for children) there was not much room for development so Tremezzo retained authenticity with only a few shops and no modern looking buildings.

Room Tip: Rooms at front have a great view, but there is traffic noise. Higher rooms quieter but smaller.

The Bazzoni is not a bad hotel - but its not great either. Its greatest attribute if you have a room on the front is the view across the lake looking towards Bellagio. The hotel is used by several travel companies including Inghams which as we booked independently online we were not aware of. The hotel it self has most things including a small clean outdoor pool but does appear tired in some places. Our room was acceptable although the bed not very comfortable and we only had plastic tumblers to drink out of. Some reviewers have complained of noise and to avoid this ask for a room high up in the 7 floor part of the hotel. (One part of hotel has 5 floors and the other 7). Unfortunately it is on the main lakeside road and traffic can be busy particularly at weekends. It is conveniently placed for several nearby restaurants and the lake ferry. Reasonable breakfast buffet. Front desk staff sullen.

Room Tip: Seventh floor front for stunning views.

I was a member of the Travel Department group. The hotel is very clean with a small swimming pool the surrounding sun loungers could do with some cushions.

The hotel is very clean and ideally located for buses and boats to Como and Menaggio.Breakfast and dinner is a buffet with a good selectiom of hot and cold dishes. To get a table overlooking the lake go down early for dinner as the window tables indoors and the outer balcony tables are taken first.

The cleaning staff and reception staff are friendly and helpful however I found the dining room staff quiet rude.

I would recommend paying the small extra charge for a lakeside view as one gets a balcony with table and chair.

The mixed reviews about this hotel were worrying me.When we were allocated our room we were dissappointed.Room 418 is not very nice. However we were given a lovely room(750) when we asked to be moved. It was stunning and the view amazing. The hotel is spotlessly clean, staff very obliging, happy and friendly, food was excellent.Decor is a little dated but charming and the rooms that have been modernised are great. The staff worked so well as a team and made everyone feel very welcome. We would most defintely reccomend this hotel and we will go back and choose this hotel when we visit Como. It isn't the most beautiful but it is warm, welcoming , friendly and very Italian. Love it. Also it is ideally situated for the ferries, buses etc. Inhams Rep Jane was very knowledgable and the selected excursions we picked very enjoyable.

Room Tip: higher floor with side views of the lake are my favourites,650,750. The rooms at the front with lake...

A last minute deal through Inghams turned up trumps in every respect. Yes the hotel is one of the older ones BUT the staff are delightful, the place is clean, the food is a real bonus and our room was comfortable with a large double bed with good mattress (not always the case in our experience). Hot water at all times and an HD TV if you needed to keep up with BBC News etc. We had half board, the breakfast and dinner choices and variety were huge and the quality/quantity excellent. Our lake view room delivered completely and we kept pinching ourselves each time we went back to the room or sat on the balcony! Sad to read about the Bernina Express / St Moritz trip where people had to stand as ours went smoothly and is a real must if you are there. Equally the trip to Bergamo and the Villa Balbianello were excellent. We would go back again without hesitation.

Had a week at this hotel in June and it was great. Ålthough as on some reviews a bit shabby in an old fashioned way, the service and food could not be faulted. The staff were brilliant, very amiable. We went through Inghams and the reps were very good and value for money was good. The food in the hotel was very enjoyable, a vast selection, and packed lunches we ended up with one between two as too much to eat. We had a lake view room which was spotless, super view.

Room Tip: As for lake view, Be aware it is on the main road and you do get some noise, but this is not a probl...
