“very satisfaying service and room”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2012

just to give you a short feedback after returning save to Germany on May 5th. As already stated when we left: we were very satisfied with regard to your service and the room. The excellent view to the lake and the landscape we had chosen when booking the room in the 2nd floor has been fulfilled completely. The Breakfast was very good in particular the salami and may be not usual for local practice. Especially we appreciated very much the location a bit off from the traffic and noisy centre. We felt only one thing that could be improved: a bit more offerings for meals in the evening (though we are aware that you have chosen to be a hotel without demi-pension).

We stayed at this very friendly and clean hotel for two nights in April. We would recommend this hotel since it is very clean and tha owners and staff were very friendly, pollite and helpful. They assisted us in booking restaurants, a fantastic pizzeria in the neighbourhood, recommended our daytours etc. Good breakfast and hot coffee, true italian style.

Room Tip: good beds, nice shower, CLEAN

We booked Villa Edy fairly last minute so weren't sure what to expect, so we were very pleasantly surprised.
First of all, I have to complement the wondeful staff there. KLM lost one of our suitcases and they were all so helpful, ringing the airline every day for us in order to get updates. They were very friendly throughout and took the time to chat to all guests.
Rooms were very spacious and clean. All basic amenities that we needed were available.
Breakfast was continental style and was enough for us, though perhaps we may have liked slightly more variety than what was out. I am sure had we asked, they would have tried to accommodate, hence why I am not complaining about this.
Great car park and nice to burn off the lunch and dinner by walking up and down the hill to the main road if you don't drive of get a taxi.
Swimming pool was great, very clean and of decent size with nice sunloungers around.
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Edy. We are returning to Tremezzo in September 2012 for our wedding and we have suggested this hotel to all our friends who are coming, and a third of the wedding party will actually be staying there.

We stayed here in early September when there was nowhere else available in the region: it was a very pleasant surprise. We had a spacious very clean room with a well built and efficient shower, a little balcony and a view including the lake. The bed was very comfortable. The pool is a decent size, clean and with a nice grassy area. The family staff are friendly and quick to help. You can get light meals until about 9pm, which is handy if like us you are marooned there by a downpour of rain.

The advantage of being off the lake is that you are well away from the traffic noise that plagues many hotels on the lakeside road. It is worth investigating the little roads that run parallel to the lake road for wonderful views, interesting buildings and a feeling of getting away from it all. Part is designated the "Greenway del Lago di Como" and is clearly marked. We used it to walk to Villa Balbianello (but watch out for the fact that you can only walk all the way to the villa on some days). In the opposite direction you can easily walk to the Villa Carlotta in half an hour. Both villas are essential viewing with interesting interiors and beautiful gardens. Villa Carlotta has a nice café, but Balbianello doesn't have one at all.

Restaurants in Tremezzo are not cheap, but there are several to choose from. There is a family-run place - the Pizzeria Balognett - a short walk behind the hotel among the side roads with a variety of interesting, very freshly cooked pizzas.

Down side? If you are infirm or just lazy you will not like the 15-minute walk to the nearest boat-stop on the lake, and the walk back to the hotel at the end of the day is uphill.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We chose the top floor and liked it. There is a lift.

I booked Villa Edy very last-minute - and mainly because there very poor availability of hotels/rooms in general around the central lake area.

I think that if we had had a car - it would have been an ideal place to stay. The rooms are pleasant enough, we had a lake view and a balcony to enjoy it from. We found our room to be clean and quite spacious. No air conditioning though, if I remember correctly. There is a nice pool and tennis courts but we didn't use these facilities.

The problem we had with this hotel is that it is a LONG walk to the ferry port. There is a nice hill to go up to get to the hotel, and a small stretch of walking where there is no pavement for pedestrians on the way into the main part of Tremezzo. This was primarily a concern in the evening when we came back from dinner. [note that I have just noticed that on their website they offer a free transfer to the ferry port which I hadn't seen before but then, no one mentioned it either]

Breakfast was taken on their very pleasant terrace. It wasn't a huge spread, just the normal bread and ham and cheese with a few cereal options. It was fine. Staff were pleasant enough, though didn't offer anything more than giving us the room keys and telling us what time breakfast was. No map, wi-fi was not free as far as I could see, although I didn't ask to be fair. Some hotels give you a time limited username and password.

Apart from all the walking, which limited our activities because we didn't want to have to keep trekking back and forth from the hotel, we had quite a pleasant stay at Villa Edy. It reminded me a bit of some of the nicer motels in New Zealand.

We picked Tremezzo to stay for our holidays it was a great choice, as for Hotel villa Edy,
we could not have made a better choice it was fantastic, the lovely walk along the lake, the hotel is rated 3 star it is easily far more, as for the staff the rooms and the whole area around the hotel, we could not asked for better.

This small hotel 'garni' is in a rather suburban but quiet location with partial views of the great Lake Como. Very well maintained grounds and an excellent pool area, but not much in the way of local catering. You're not going to find bargains in such a desirable area, but Villa Edy makes for a decent stopover to make the most of its beauty.
